It is so hilarious how so many of you guys are taking it so personally when Samsung attacks Apple in the media.
Did someone from Samsung spit in your coffee this morning?

Samsung has introduced a new ad for its upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 4, talking about how the company first introduced the Galaxy Note series in 2011 and popularized the "phablet" form factor while calling out Apple for making the similarly sized iPhone 6 Plus three years later.

YouTube: video
The ad begins recounting the history of the Galaxy Note before talking about some of the features of the device, like multi-window multitasking and its S-Pen stylus. The ad then shows articles from online publications criticizing Samsung for releasing the original Galaxy Note due to the device's large size before showing articles praising Apple for releasing the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus.

Finally, the ad shows select tweets from users criticizing Apple for releasing the iPhone 6 Plus three years after Samsung started the Galaxy Note line of devices. The commercial ends with the release date for the new device.

Samsung has continually created advertising going after Apple, its products and its fan base, famously depicting people ogling the Samsung Galaxy S2 while waiting in line outside an Apple Store for the newest iPhone mode. More recently, Samsung published a series of web ads poking fun at Apple's September 9 special events and rolled out a "Wall Huggers" ad campaign that pokes fun at the iPhone's battery life.

Personally what i take from this ad more than anything, is that Samsung is calling out all the blog sites that have done a U turn. All those sites which heavily lean towards apple, have had to admit that they were wrong otherwise they would have had to slate the new iphone which they couldnt really do.

Ive said this in the thread thats been running on this ad all weekend, i have more things in life to worry about than what phone is best, because there is not a best phone, just the best phone for you, however in all fairness to Samsung they were dragged through the courts (quite rightly so in some instances) so this is a little payback. Samsung will not win over many iphone users thats not there intention, just like the new large size Iphone wont win over many Android users.

Its a sad world where we cant poke fun at each other without people resorting to insults and storming off with there toys

It's funny to see reading through this thread how almost everyone here can see Apple doing nothig wrong in their eyes.
If Apple say the world is square people would believe it.

The simple fact that apple is a couple years behind in inovation yet people still believe that they are at the forefront is an example of this. "This is now the largest screen ever in an iPhone" - are we supposed to be impressed? This isn't new...
Apple Watch - this isn't new nor an exciting step forward in technology (Samsung Gear) , this product could have been produced years ago, it's quite frankly an insult how it is praised in such high regard.

I am an Apple fan due to the OS and build quality ONLY, I don't buy into all this 'NEW' technology crap because it is most definately not true. The original iPhone was a first and Apple went viral. Now they are just clinging onto their iPhone success with sub-par changes and sugarcoat re-hashed technology.

If you mean that Apple was a first smartphone, then no, they weren't. I've had smartphones since 2003, and I certainly wasn't the first, either.

Apple did, however, make smartphones cool*, so I will give them that.

*cool for non-geeks, like Mrs. thequick

So, so pathetic. It comes to something when Samsung has to use tweets in order to sell a product. Apple don't need to slag off the competitors in their marketing campaigns to get the iPhone to sell millions upon millions of units. I bet they've already sold more iPhone 6 units than the Note 359 has ever.

It really is the sign of a weak company who don't have a lot of faith in their products when they turn to bad mouthing a rival company who is clearly doing far, far better than themselves.

Plus, those people in those tweets should be ashamed of themselves. There's nothing cool about supporting Samsung.

Apple, ****** yeah!

Oh, of course they were not the first smartphone. But the iPhone was a pretty large step in the mobile phone evolution. I am not fighting for iPhones inovation any further than this as I believe they got lucky with the orig iPhone.

Scared, aren't they?

The world is square? Oh my god it all makes sense now.

What a whiny ad. So for the first time ever Apple copies something that Samsung did first: a screen size. And what do they do? They completely freak out. They've been copying Apple for years, down to even the shape of the AC adapter. And Apple won lawsuits against them. But now they're suddenly acting all high and mighty? Go choke on a pretzel Samsung. You just lost the only thing you had going in your favor. Half the reason the Plus is so popular is because your customers are jumping ship. I personally know several people who just ditched their SIII models for the 6 and 6 Plus.

The simple fact that apple is a couple years behind in inovation yet people still believe that they are at the forefront is an example of this.

So tell me how they are behind in INNOVATION?
Larger screens are no innovation. The iPad has a large screen. Of course apple could've done a larger screen in the past years. They simply didn't because the market was just starting to get larger screens.
Apple worked and researched around 3 years for getting the apple watch ready.
Why do you think the Apple Watch sucks, if nobody has really tested it so far? What makes the Apple Watch bad?

You are talking about simple facts, but you fail to name those facts.
And Apple never talked about NEW technology. Its just people who think, that apple said that, because those people are retarded.

I just see the competition TRYING to be innovative, but totally failing reaching the goal.
HTC One got the Ultra-Pixel technology. I had the HTC One and the camera just sucked terrible compared to my iPhone 5. It was a clear downgrade when I compared those two in my every-day usage. So it was a TRY to be innovative, but it didn't reach its goal.
Maybe the Note 3 with its pen and the software solution behind it. I had the note 3, yeah that was a good feature and I loved it.
The Moto 360 and the LG smart watch are the first watches with a round display. Pretty innovative, BUT this leads to bad usability. A square screen is more functional than a round one. It can contain more information and is easier to use.
Okay so... where was the competition innovative?
Apple being innovative:
- They got the first high-resolution display in a touch screen device and brought it to everyone (iPhone 4)
- They got the first reliable and working Fingerprint sensor into a mobile device (iPhone 5S)
- They got the first 64bit CPU into a mobile phone
- They got the first really usable solution to NFC Payments with much higher security (thanks to TouchID) (iPhone 6)
- They got the first seamless communication between devices (Connectivity, iOS8+Yosemite). No other eco-system has reached that point.
- Their Watch is the FIRST smartwatch, that can be completely customized individually, which is very important for such a device.
- Apple Watch is the first one to get NFC and payments

Doesn't android dominate worldwide cellphone market share? Just not sure why they need to be "desperate" as many here claim.

Samsung is not the maker of Android! It makes phones and it competes with other companies that make phones, and the biggest one of them happen to be Apple so Samsung is quite right to ***** it's pant's.

This is not iOS VS Android thing....

Always fun to watch Samsungs videos like this ... Reminds me of a younger brother wanting to be acknowledged by the older.

Throw a bunch of existing sometimes outdated tech into a blender
Throw a VERY large wallet
Throw a die-hard community

Out comes a shiny Apple product.

Please give an example of the last time Apple really 'wow'd' the world of technology. How about we remove the apple sign on the rear of the iPhone 6+ and replace it with Samsung? People would be stating 'It's gross, it's too big, eww, may as well just get a iPad mini or a tablet, gross phone, crappy'.

Gotta love these replys, Someone knows someone whos moved from android to iphone and thats somewhat represents a world movement? Hows this the 9 employees who work for me this time last year 6 of them had iphones, now only one does, and he is switching at the end of the contract, so by my calculation that means apple should now be bankrupt? **** people sell your stocks now.

So funny

I think Samsung are locking the barn door after the horse has bolted. There was a period were I was on the fence of shifting to Samsung Galaxy because I wanted a bigger screen but didn't want a tablet so I would say Samsung should have been doing these aggressive adverts a year ago. Now it's too late and Samsung just come across as petty.

One year ago, just bring out an ad with a small smartphone screen size and a large smartphone screen size side by side showing an internet page and the larger screen showing more information, or a movie being larger on the larger screen.

Too little to late, Samsung.

I would tend to agree with you. But you have to look at where
you are -- on a forum dedicated to Apple fanatics. Go to the
Android/Samsung/Windows/Linux forums and you'll see the same
thing. No sense singling out Apple.

And regarding what you call "innovation", I would agree that they
are years behind but only in hardware, and one could argue they
are years ahead in software (or at least the integration of their
software and hardware with a functional ecosystem).

Ad worked for me. Was pretty disappointed with what the iPhone6/+ has to offer so I am going to jump ship.

Take care.

I hope I am just one of many that quotes you on this to let you know of your error.

Those made the device look bad. These make the user look bad. It's actually a very huge difference.

Those "I'm a Mac" ads portrayed windows users as boring fat guys in suits and Mac users as hip, young guys in jeans with the 2 actors apple used in the ads.

You need to add water to that koolaid powder mix before you drink it.

This is the way that Apple markets:
Build a quality product, and have the infrastructure built around it.

I am using a computer that I bought 6 years ago, and it still runs reasonably well. I've had to wipe the hard drive once, and I'm not sure why it started bogging down, but I did what I know works in the Windows world: Wipe and reload

What about all my software and keys for that? Well, just log into the App Store and reload it all.

What about the product key for OSX? Ha! Don't need one! (Yes, I've been on hold with MS getting my product key re-activated after the 5th legal reload of Vista, which I actually liked. Yeah, I'm that weird.)

What about all my files? (Windows has this too): Time machine backups! (changing the hard drive on this computer was not a fun task, but when I was done, the reload was easy-peasy. I shut off the computer, replaced the HD, turned it back on, restored from Time Machine Backup, and when I got home from work, it was the same as I left it, only with more free space)

One other person mentioned that they don't get updates from their phone company with the Android O/S. I had the same problem with my Windows Phone way back when I had one (2009), so I went to non-Microsoft sites to get the latest versions and builds of firmware. No chance of getting any malware, right?

The point of all this fanboy-ing is that while others have faster, larger, more RAM-er stuff, I am at a point in my life that I don't want to spend hours fine-tuning my computer or phone*. I just want it to work.

*Yes, I do jailbreak my iPhone from time to time to get my OBD-II to read my car's "Check Engine" light. It's nice to know that I left the gas cap not totally screwed in again...

I'll say this as an apple fan: Samsung has a point. Apple has done nothing new with the new iPhone and what Samsung has done before.

Not true.

-New cpu / gpu A8
-barometer
-Optical image stabilisation
-DSLR Focus Pixels tech.
-240fps video

and thats not even going into the iOS8 new features.

Oh, last time Apple really wow'd the world was last year with TouchID and 64bit. And maybe the Slo-Mo Camera.
You didn't read the news I guess. With iPhone 6 there wasn't much wow. It was a pretty normal keynote. Nice new features. But last year the iPhone 5S brought some awesome technology to the world with TouchID and 64bit. The first phone with an actual WORKING fingerprint sensor. Everything before was just a gimmick, which was not working.
When did the competition last time Wow the world?

In my previous post I stated some innovations of apple, now give me some of the competition.
When you argument, then you better show me some facts.

Oh and what makes me really excited with the iPhone 6... 240fps camera. JESUS MAN, I LOVE the slo-mo camera on my iPhone 5S and now I can even shoot more awesome slo-mo videos.
