Well back in 2011 Samsung had real success with retina pfablet display. it was so popular that multitasking blew us all away, and battery life 8 hours if you managed not to do much.

well this all is a reason. We are fed up buying crappy products with crappy service.
I'm to poor to afford crappy products. I go full monty for the best I can afford, but company that sells dishwashers, fridges, irons, are not it.

Samsung actually ripped Dysons vacuum cleaners.

Crappy? Like battery life in iPhone5? It took them 2 years to admit there's a problem with batteries

Doesn't android dominate worldwide cellphone market share? Just not sure why they need to be "desperate" as many here claim.

Because there are many, many cell phones that sell for less than $20 at zero profit, but very few phones that sell for $600 or more, and Apple just royally ********* up Samsungs only profitable line of phones.

The simple fact that apple is a couple years behind in inovation yet people still believe that they are at the forefront is an example of this.

A bigger screen isn't innovation. A new way of using that screen is innovation.
Personally, I'm not convinced the 5.5" screen fulfils a need that I have, but
having more choices is good and Apple has probably made the right decision to enter this market.

The Apple Pay system is also innovative if it works well (current NFC systems are too insecure for my liking). Again, I'm not sure that I see a personal need for it, but it does keep people interested in technology.

Samsung do make some nice hardware (I own some of it as well as Apple gear). Their software sometimes lets them down.

Ad worked for me. Was pretty disappointed with what the iPhone6/+ has to offer so I am going to jump ship.

Take care.

Thank you for taking the time to sign up on MacRumors to make this your first post. I'm sure that this helped the conversation, and you've been an iPhone user since 2007, after waiting in line since 2 days before the phone came out.

Wait... I may be writing this totally sarcastically.

Btw, I am living here in Australia and you can use your Samsung Galaxy s4 + commonwealth banking app for mobile payments. The Problem: Security.
It is so damn insecure to make payments, that I am really afraid of using this feature.
Apple has a solution for that, and this is combined with TouchID.

Tim Cook said in the recent interview, that they are not the first, but they do a modern way of what is there. Apple innovates in the way how they handle the existing.

No problem :)

Thank you for taking the time to read my first post, checking out my profile, quoting my post and then adding your two cents to it!

Yeah, I jumped on the bandwagon late. I had a 3g, then went to the galaxy s2. Got the iphone 4 and returned for the s3. Now i've had the 5s and had the battery issue. I absolute love apple hardware (build quality and materials) but the software is killing me. I hate having to virtually no customization on iphone and the iphone 6 really seems to underwhelm (spec wise) when compared to flagship android phones.

Now that android phone makers are putting priority on vanilla OS's and upping build quality I don't see any reason for me to stick around :(

...and they fixed it. It's pretty nice, because when I give the kids my 5, it'll have a brand new battery!

It's pretty nice that they sell faulty batteries in their phones and decide to own up years down the line.
Iphone's are now pretty much disposible and for the premium you pay it's quite frankly disgusting.

OK, Once. IN general it was all about the PC vs Mac, not Company vs Apple. You don't see SS ads targeting LG or Microsoft. It's just childish.

In those days everyone thought the mac couldn't do all those things, and they tried telling the audience in a comical way that now, mac could.

These days samsung is truing to convince their own customers that they are superior and apple users are all isheep.

In some places the apple threads get flooded with samsung owners bashing apple/ios, but i haven't seen any samsung threads getting flushed by "isheep".

It's funny to see reading through this thread how almost everyone here can see Apple doing nothig wrong in their eyes.
If Apple say the world is square people would believe it.

Fully agree - I had a first iPhone and then 3G, 4 and 5. I'd say 1st and 4th were the best ones in terms of innovation, build quality and features. They were always lacking a feature or two but Apple mastered "One Thousand and One Nights" style of telling a story - we were always waiting - I agree fully here with one of the Samsung ads. But I also admit I liked this waiting

However I need a phone that works now - so I switched to S5 from beautiful but badly built Apple 5 (with worst then ever battery life). As for now I really like Android and I feel like some of you should give it a try instead of repeating bad wolf stories told by someone who knows someone

So Samsung has become a 15 year old kid like all the ones on here that bash Apple at every opportunity they get?

Maybe they should rethink their advertising team. Or maybe not, their desperation is a good source of entertainment.

You do know that LG Prada was before the iPhone right? While Apple made it popular, it certainly wasn't the one that came up with the idea

These two phones are not even comparable. LG Prada showed a few black and white icons on the screen, the iPhone was a smart phone.

The point of all this fanboy-ing is that while others have faster, larger, more RAM-er stuff, I am at a point in my life that I don't want to spend hours fine-tuning my computer or phone*. I just want it to work.

That is pretty much how I see it. And that is why I am an Apple user - not because the products are stylish or hip or "innovative" (whatever that may mean) or because they have feature X, Y or Z.

Sure, I am happy for example if my new iPhone has the same phase detect autofocus as my Canon EOS 70D, but if it didn't have that, and some Samsung phone had that feature, I would still stick with the iPhone, and my jealousy level would be fairly low. I do own a Samsung tablet, and I had to invest way too much time into it, especially considering that it is hardly being used at all, as me and my wife even prefer our (much slower) iPad 1 over it.

So to me, it's quite pointless to have an ad which goes on about how some minor feature was "stolen" by Apple from Samsung. I don't care. The whole concept of how smartphones work nowadays was invented by Apple, and they still do it best. When Samsung's phones run iOS and integrate seamlessly with my Mac, then I'll be willing to have a second look at their products.

Haha
Samsung as so Kiddo and Jealous :D
Offering it first doesn't mean it is the right timing:rolleyes:

It is so hilarious how so many of you guys are taking it so personally when Samsung attacks Apple in the media.
Did someone from Samsung spit in your coffee this morning?

It's hilarious how someone plays amateur psychologist and insinuates motivation that doesn't exist.

"It just works".
Say that to my iPhone 4, it'll turn off it's wifi and drain your data until you get notifications from your carrier that you are well over your data limit.

Say that to my iPhone 4 that now 'just works' for half a day before the battery is rinsed to 0% (mild use).

Free advertising for Apple. People may not have known about a larger iPhone... until this ad.

Thanks Samsung!

That might be the case (although doubtful!); but once people compare the specs, love Apple as much as you like, the Note 4 wins HANDS DOWN! This was Apples chance to do deliver something special to compete against the likes of Samsung & LG ... but look what we got. Not just a case of form over function, but function years behind the competition!

I'm not an Apple hater: just confused why they cant bring decent products out anymore!

iPhone may be late by releasing the features that samsung already have for years, but those "same" features just works better on iPhone since apple spent longer time in researching before releasing them. On the other hand, samsung just want to lead the industry by introducing various new technologies, but none of them are complete because they rushed the process...

Very well said! Take the Samsung watch for example, a very rushed and unpolished device to have it out first

The contrast between iPhone ads and Samsung ads just emphasize the desperation of the latter. It's kind of sad.

Samsung has a marketing team that does everything in it's power to try and convince people why their phone is better than Apple's iPhone, while Apple's marketing team designs ads that... wait for it... actually show you what the phone can do. Their ads actually convince consumers that they should buy their phone just by demonstarting it. No comparisons to any other phone are necessary. They simply show you what they've created and that alone is enough.

Spot on! Samsung ads are aimed at wannabe fan boys while Apple is aimed about how you can achieve your goals and become a better person, a truly night and day diffrience. So you pick from an add that makes you feel good about yourself or an ad that just makes you go Meh whatever, low life's!

This is almost embarrassing to read. Go back years when Apple didn't get lucky with a viral mobile phone.
