Apple has stooped lower before, by suing Samsung a couple of times in court. Know this, that at one time. ..Samsung made 70% of Apples phone parts in the past, before their relationship turned sour.

Excuse me? That's like saying I'm stooping low for taking someone to court who breaks into my house.

... mainly due to saturation and low cost competition from other Asian manufacturers ... the ones which are going to start hitting Apple hard very soon (especially in China); more so now their latest product appears to be, spec wise, two years behind the competition. Then factor in the stupidly high price .... well, lets wait and see!

NB did you not notice Apples share price drop only a few hours after the presentation!

Did you notice that AAPL is higher right now than ever in its entire history?

And please explain this to me: If Samsung is two years ahead of Apple, as you claim, and if Apple sells at stupidly high prices, as you claim, how come that these Asian manufacturers are taking sales and profits away from Samsung, and not from Apple?

I've nothing against these type of adds, but this is seriously cheap.

Mac vs. PC, Wall Huggers and the like are funny, it's key to keep irony, this one is ridiculous, i mean they are quoting in an AD 2-two twitters???? Wow...

As embarrassing as that advert is, there isn't a lie in it. But let's just pretend!

----------

I'm glad Apple doesn't have to stoop this low in order to make their products look better.

"Hi I'm a Mac, and I'm a PC"
Did you just forget that campaign ever existed?

Viral with iPod builds a huge fanbase and pot to eat into with a new product = less struggle to sell. But you are brainwashed if you believe Apple didn't tread on competitors toes to get an upper-hand.

Luckily, I never made such a claim.

OK, Once. IN general it was all about the PC vs Mac, not Company vs Apple. You don't see SS ads targeting LG or Microsoft. It's just childish.
The term PC was synonymous for Microsoft back then. The ads were clearly targeted at the "boring" grey PC's and their "function and style" lacking Microsoft operating system. If you say they were not about Microsoft it's just not the truth.

These is so good, watching the "newbies" and the obvious trolls coming here and posting everything they can to make Samsung look good, even FUD.

With all Android OEMs (besides Samsung) on the red, and Samsung making less and less money yearly, Apple is going to capitalize big time with the iPhone 6 and 6+.

Samsung's sales are going to plummet, and it will happen fast. Glorious! The note 4 is already outdated and part of the past even before being released. I mean, look how pathetic they are: Trying to associate screen size alone and stylus as innovation but itself. So a 6" phone is more innovative than a 5.9" phone? How pathetic.

Apple is going to make a killing.

Calling the Note 4 outdated says a lot about you. You have no clue about all of this  You sir are a troll

It's an unforgettable campaign. Funny, witty, and it expressed exactly what people forced to use PCs in offices all over the world were thinking. In contrast to Samsung, who wouldn't even know what "funny" and "humorous" mean. And if they try, they create a monstrosity like the Gear "stalker" ad.

WOW.

I know Samsung usually does this kind of stuff but, showing off a what a few random unheard of twitter users are saying about your phone in an advert? This is desperation at its absolute maximum.

I honestly do not understand how they think that they don't look like anything but angry manchildren in this advert. Shows even a company as big as Samsung can still make some very strange glaring mistakes.

Quite a few people don't even know about the 6 Plus, free advertising I guess.

If you want a perfect example how to write an unintentional, self-defeating commercial, this is nearly it.

I don't say the Samsung apps are funny, but that is just your interpretation. Other people maybe like these kind of Samsung ads. "These Samsung ads just express what many people think about Apple...."
The Apple Mac vs PC ads might have been a bit more classy and subtle, but in the end they also made fun at the boring, function and style lacking grey office PCs. There was truth in it back then and there is, if you really be honest, some truth in the Samsung ads now, although the style is maybe questionable. But so what? Why not just be above such things?

I own Apple and Samsung products, so I'm entitled to be here and give my opinion; and its sad that my love for my Galaxy phone (and comments accordingly) are seen as trolling!

Its also great to see your grasp on company finances and ability to predict a company's demise so quickly. Whats sadder, is your obvious lack of knowledge or ability to understand technology to a point where you just make yourself look silly! To say the Note 4 is dead before its even arrived is a pretty stupid (fanboy) comment; not just because the Note range IS regarded as one of the best phones you can buy (as ALL reviews will prove); and the stylus and its software have been a key feature in its success - no you're silly because if the Note 4 is dead in the water, then God help the iPhone ... with specs that don't even begin to compete!

If it wasn't for a brainwashed Apple community and a user base happy to update at each iteration (despite the fact the hardware may be poor) Apple would be dead in the water.

That said, spec wise, its quite clear Apple aren't (and never could) gunning for Note users; in fact, with the new iPhone specs I cant actually see who they're gunning for other than existing iPhone users ... but in typical Apple style, they've just destroyed an entire line of customers with their decision to discontinue a 4" model. Laughable ... Apple are a joke!

To be fair, I thought 'bigger screen' ad was hilarious. For me that is the only one of the new Samsung adverts that actually struck me as 'funny'.
I thought the other ads were daft (who the heck uses a stylus?). My fiancé didn't get the 'streaming' advert and I had to explain it to her.
But kudos, the bigger screen advert actually made me laugh.

'Here comes the big announcement'
'Bigger screen!!'
'Argghhhhhh!!!'
'YESSS!!!'
'Wait, what?'

C'mon, that's funny :D

I don't know what disgusts me more, the constant bashing of a rival company instead of them promting their own products, not to mention the company they keep bashing is one of their biggest customers #badbusiness or the fact the person in the video says they like the new TMNT film which is horrific.

Also Last time Samsung did anything Bay related he had a freak out and ran off stage ... >.>

You must be new around here. Share prices always drop after Apple announcements. That's just how it works. It'll climb back up and be at a high before the next big announcement. That's just how APPL shares work.

I'm terribly sorry, but Apple doesn't compete with Chinese competitors. Apple only competes at the high end where Chinese competitors don't go. At the top, Apple dominates. It's almost a monopoly. If any Chinese manufacturer try to get close to that mark, Chinese people will simply buy Apple. The only reason why Samsung was kept afloat was the momentum of Samsung Galaxy Note 1/2 and Samsung Galaxy S3. The Note was quite revolutionary, but Chinese competitors have caught up and yet Samsung has failed to bring anything new to the Note line except "larger". Samsung no longer dominates in the phablet market because cheaper Chinese competitors can produce the same experience at a lower coast. In some cases, the experience is better due to the weakness of the Touchwiz skin (and the adoption of near-stock-android and cyanogenmod).

This differs from Apple because Apple isn't only about iOS experience. It's a brand power. One that is much larger than Samsung. Apple is a symbol of status in China. Samsung hasn't built up this symbolism. It's view as an alternative to iPhone, but not an alternative to Apple. Competing phones from Huawei and Xiaomi can produce a similar experience in terms of the phone, but have not replicated the status symbol that is Apple.

As the trend of car analogies go, here is one: People in China that can't afford expensive European cars (BMW, Merc, Audi) will buy cheaper, more practical home-made cars (BYD). Chinese people who can afford an expensive European car, will buy the expensive European car. Not many will buy a practical, less expensive Korean car.

Ha, it's funny to read about advertising "integrity" from all the apparent Apple experts on here. All it does is emphasize how little they all know when contrary examples keep appearing.

Here's some advice for all of you who only discovered Apple in the last ten years. Don't act superior, it might come back to bite you in the ass and make you look stupid.

Their lameness aside, I relish in the fact that :apple:Pay isn't something Samsung will ever be able to copycat -- it's such a precise and deliberate blend of hardware, software (OS), patents, business deals, existing assets (credit cards via iTunes), etc.

Peace, Samsung.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo .... that's an Ive-ism :) Since when was anything in technology 'accidental' anyway?

To be honest, it's a fair enough statement that they were into the 'phablet' scene long before Apple. That's undeniable.

I'm more surprised that they want to publicly goad tech review sites like Mashable and Wall Street Journal. Seems a bit risky to me!

all these little copy stories :)

Like they did in the I'm a Mac campaign?
i think that the main different is the "I am a MAC" series was more fun, two friends ore at least "respectful" guys were talking about their little issues …
(not aggressive...)

and yes: samsung did have a stylus, first (first: Newton?…:)
and yes: samsung (LG, HTC?) start with bigger screens, first …
but its android :-/
- yes, i would like to have an larger screen (since the 3Gs)
- no, i won't change to android just cause of the screen size …

there is more than just a addition of tech.specs
(and no need for "my chosen device is much better than others...")
…

I dislike when a company has to resort to making others look bad to sell product.... I'd rather they emphasize their own strengths than others weaknesses

*edit- Yes I am aware of the "Im a Mac" ads that ended 5 years ago

You are aware of them but apparently they don't count then? ;)

In those days everyone thought the mac couldn't do all those things, and they tried telling the audience in a comical way that now, mac could.

These days samsung is truing to convince their own customers that they are superior and apple users are all isheep.

In some places the apple threads get flooded with samsung owners bashing apple/ios, but i haven't seen any samsung threads getting flushed by "isheep".

I think I agree.... lol -

Yes, because MS was the only company making PCs and PC software.

Cmon. It was about all of them. It was about a style. And it was clever.

Has Samsung done commercials like this for every other manufacturer? LG and Nokia and Motorola and every other phone company copied Samsung but Samsung has a preteen adolescent affair with Apple. I still don't see anyone camping out for Samsung devices.
