I have to admit, I have now given up on 25th July (despite being my choice right from the word go). I am as frustrated as the next guy, but look at it from Apple's point of view. Given the ivy bridge processor offers minimal processing power advantage and the new GPUs have only really started rolling out, Apple is not late with their new iMac. The only burning issue as far as I am concerned, is to offer USB3 but we all know how Apple feel about USB3..

To boot, the rMBP has taken everyone by surprise how well it's selling which means a significant bottle neck in the supply chain of the SSDs. We know Apple likes to have a certain amount of inventory built to start a roll-out initially. So the way I see it, the *most* optimistic outcome is 25th July.

But given lack of any 'visible' or clear-cut signs (even the benchmarking data is now been 'discredited' as fake), I am losing hope (despite voting for 25th July way back on 11th June). From the way things are looking Apple will be doing well to have something out in late August or September to allow some students to take advantage of the back to school offer.

I can't see a launch in October (iPhone and possibly iPad mini) and November is too close to holiday season (and the demands on people's wallets that entails) and Black Friday so the most probable window (to me) has shifted to 15 Aug-15 Sept.

If Apple doesn't release new iMacs (and Minis) on the 25th, what will it have to support the launch of ML? I can't see them releasing ML on its own so it seems they will need to release SOMETHING alongside it -- updated desktops make the most sense.

Mac Minis.

There is no way the mac mini will be their big release along with ML. You're saying that Apple plans to release its shiny new OS on the mac mini and not the imac?? If they are going to release something, why would Apple NOT want to show off the power of the new OS on their flagship desktop. If there is something coming out with ML its the imac or nothing.

This makes perfect sense, but is unlikely to happen for the simple reason that it is what I want to happen, therefore Apple will act otherwise.

how about no hardware release with ML as 9to5mac pointed because apple is a bounch of donkeyholes and they want people to switch to pcs

Store is down... This time it has a proper "We're busy updating" sign too! :)
you know what i cant believe... that if apple doesnt update the imacs with ML they really gonna put the new desktop wallpaper on the 2011 imacs i know theyve done it before but jesus just update the damm thing already i bet it look nice.

I have to admit a twinge of excitement on the apple store outage this morning. It's been going on for many hours, the graphic looks like the one they usually use for updates, the iPhone Apple store App is also down. It seems real! Come on new iMac!!

As much as i want it to be the new imac I doubt it is. Wouldn't they have to announce ML first?

Not necessarily...it's a $20 upgrade. they'll give you a free redeem code to download it yourself. Like they did last year with Lion. Of course it could be that ML is also launched today alongside new hardware...

oh so there is no small event or something to announce ML? That raises hope lol. But I wouldn't be surprisedifkacminigets upgraded now and iMac later this month just to mess with the consumers somemore.

It's possible that an iMac is being added

I've lost complete faith in the belief of an iMac release next week with ML. There's never been any real proof for that, it's pure speculation based on logic. ...and apple doesn't always do what we feel is logic for us, the consumers.
Right now I don't know what to do anymore?!? I guess I'll keep waiting - its annoying that we have no proper clues as to how long. I want a new iMac above anything else right now. And I need it to be more effective at work. This is a REALLY frustrating place to be in :( darn!

No! It's the same as before wwdc, they are updating the store continuously before next weeks updates... You know, like preparing the ML wallpaper on the 2011 iMac images and such :(
