New Siri Waitlist

my iphone also got siri instantly after updating as soon as my ipad got access. Its indexing though - hoping it’ll be quick once the ipad is done it can share its findings…

I find it hard to believe that I would still really be stuck at 85% as my charging sessions during the night are long enough to where I think indexing should be progressing

If I'm not mistaken, I think that beta 2 comes out next week (as the early betas are on a biweekly cadence for their release cycle) so hopefully by then my iPhone will finally rid itself of the indexing in progress thing prominently on top of settings and the only thing I will have up top there for a bit of time still is the thing that stays there for a while when you get new devices and they're eligible to add to AppleCare

How did you get a reading where you stand indexing?
 
Checking in I see some are getting the new Siri. I myself and on 50% indexing been stuck at that point for 3 days. It on the charger a lot and my WiFi is excellent. No new Siri. If I were to restore form the ipsw do you all think this crap would be done? Been 8 days since install. It just seems to be stuck or something and I’m getting anxious.

This didn’t work for me. Nothing shows up when I search spotlight index progress or whatever the words were. Nothing shows up at all.

At this point I’m less annoyed by the lack of Siri AI than I am about being able to figure out why my photos app has been 1 item syncing for weeks (maybe longer.) I wish there was an easy way to identify the offending pic or vid.

You need to have Xcode installed for one thing. It doesn't have to be the beta.
 
Interesting find. I previously posted my iPhone has been on 50% for 3 days now I just checked again and it still is. I installed on both my iPhone 17 and iPad the same day. My iPad when checked yesterday was 63%. When I checked it I had turn off Siri. I checked it again today and with Siri shut off it’s up to 94%. So for tonight I am turning Siri off on my iPhone and see what it reads tomorrow. I lost back with my finding. Just something I noticed. I was considering doing a wipe on my iPhone but I really don’t want to lose all my apps setup with faceId and my health data. So I’ll try the Siri off and see tomorrow if the index score comes up. Plus I got a feeling B2 will be out Monday or Tuesday. That alone may fix things.

If history repeats, beta 2 and 3 are gonna be a crap shoot. All “fixes” will be pushed and a ton of things will break because of them. I am gonna be real cautious upgrading to two or three with one running so well. May even ride this out to the first public beta and switch to that channel.

Checking the progress % by connecting to a Mac - It only worked for me on 3rd attempt to connect🙃, and only after I ran the settings app on my iPhone to show the still indexing notice. (I dont have xcode installed)

So try running the Settings app on the device you are checking.

That 9to5mac article is a bit general.

Connect your device to a Mac, open Console app (on a Mac) and then:

• Select your just connected device from the sidebar

• Type "Spotlight indexing progress"
Press Enter

• Open Settings app on iPhone

• Click Start (Play) button.

It might be obvious, but make sure the cable used to connect your iPhone to Mac is a data usb c cable, not just a charge cable.
First time I did it, I used what I thought was a decent usb c cable and wondered why it wasn’t working. Turned out it was only for charging and not data. Changed cable and then it worked.
 
I got access yesterday. Took about a week. Still indexing though, currently at 77% for the last 4 days.
I will say, the new Siri AI is pretty incredible. Kinda feels weird though to have a Siri that is actually very functional and helpful. Really love it...
 
Sorry for the cross-post, but maybe someone can help me out. I got the new Siri AI on my iPad, but somehow I don't get Siri if I long press in a text field (where writing tools used to be). It's just missing. Just as there is no Siri in the Camera app.

Is that a know bug? Or what else can I try?
 
I just got in here in the UK, have been on the waitlist since Tuesday last week. Phone is still indexing. Using iPhone 16 Pro Max
