Can we stop with the hyperbole comments please? In what way is HDMI an inferior input standard? Macs have HDMI ports, I think Apple's monitors should have an input that matches their own computers for goodness sake.

They do—USB-C. The HDMI port is a massive, gaping hole in the side of the MacBook that’s single-handedly dictating the thickness of the computer. The plug is uni-directional. It doesn’t carry non-display data. It doesn’t carry power. Bandwidth is poor compared to DisplayPort and Thunderbolt. The standard is proprietary and expensive…HDMI has zero benefits over Thunderbolt/USB-C.

Awesome! Cannot wait! I just bought a new Cannon 1100 A2 Printer and now a new Display is on the List.

Hopefully it's the following assuming no weird politic has changed how Apple handles their screen roll-outs:

  • Updated Studio Display (low-end, entry modest monitor for creative professionals and below): Apple's legacy XDR tech finally matching non-OLED Pro Display XDR, Macbook Pro, and pre-OLED iPad Pros w/ 120hz and maybe camera affordances for price-sensitive/budget-conscious buyers.

  • Updated Pro Display (prosumers and up that want a good monitor that's industry-leading/high-end): Apple's Ultra Retina XDR tech that's Tandem-OLED-exclusive aligning with their OLED iPad Pro, eventual OLED Macbook Pros, that all have Dolby Vision HDR and 1000+ sustained nits and 1600 peak nits that also aligns with their Vision Pro and iPhone Pro using OLED w/ Dolby Vision

For the first time all Prosumer Apple Products use OLED w/ consistent Dolby Vision + HLG HDR support as well as 120hz refresh support.

To maximize Thunderbolt 5's special high-bandwidth asychronous mode dedicated to hardware like monitors, it will likely 6K@120hz with 12-bit color or 8K@120hz for higher DPR.

I would imagine and prefer the former for the monitor to age like fine wine providing what other 6K monitors have yet to even match with the existing 6K@60hz Pro Display XDR which is outstanding HDR performance with high PPI simultaneously.

Apple was willing to overclock standards to achieve this; it's more than reasonable to do again if necessary but they don't have to by using Thunderbolt 5's 120Gbps to enable 12-bit color.

Waiting to see the new displays from Apple. Think it will launch either in April or at WWDC. Pricing should remain the same.

Hurry up Apple, my Intel based iMac can barely handle opening applications anymore.
It had a good run, but I'm ready for a M series Mac-Mini 🖥️🙃5️⃣

Dear Apple,

Plz fix webcam. K Thnx bye.

P.S: height adjustable is a thing...not a luxury you pay for.

It's actually ideal and much more green to have stands separate from a monitor if that what you're referring to

Dell and others are finally correctly doing this as it's ergonomically better and cheaper in the long run to use a VESA mount over a monitor stand

Given new OLED monitors in 2026 are moving to true RGB-stripe sub pixels and tandem OLED panels, if apple is sticking with LCD then nothing they release will be worth it considering their always-ridiculous pricing. But if people want to pay through the nose for a monitor with image quality that's objectively worse in every way other than ~10% (perceived) sharper text then go nuts I guess 🤷‍♂️.

(The negative comments here about OLED are hilariously wrong 😆)

These please, although I doubt they will make a reasonably priced, aka 2500, 32" screen.
Sadly I think it will be a 27" 5k and a 32" 8K (a display manufacture showed of an 8K 32" panel last year), and with the same silly pricing. And although they REALLY need more than one input in 2026, I doubt they will. We shall see though.
…The Pro Display XDR aged like fine wine with its pricing and a 6K prosumer monitor has yet to release with full parity at a cheaper price.

Instead 8K and below HDR prosumer monitors that are cheaper are full of compromises.

So a monitor that has not been put on sale yet is full of compromises? MANY would say the Pro Display XDR has compromises also, like one input on a 6K monitor….. also it’s backlighting is hardly cutting edge anymore, really it was superseded by the iPad Pro M4 and M5 screens and the screen on the MacBook Pro since the M1 as it has many more dimming zones.

I am a bit skeptical about Apple launching an 8K Pro Display XDR as my 32" 4K displays at native resolution have relatively small text and icons, which is what retina 8K would be (hence I run them with 150% scaling at 2560x1440). 6K / 3K seems much better for daily productivity and a solid choice for 4K video editing with menus.

…Those are not high PPI 32” monitors you’re referencing.

Its 1000 sustained nits, 1600 peak nits with Dolby Vision HDR is still unrivaled as a prosumer high PPI 32” panel

I can't tell if you are being sarcastic ... I have been wondering it that would pair well with a M4 Mini Pro ... ? Anyone have that combination?
I own this monitor. the specs are nearly identical to the 32" XDR

Doesn't matter my point still stands, their screens are better then the Pro Display XDR's.
