And seems much more accurate - it worked at most 75% for me on 5S - now seems like 100

The speed of the new Touch ID is truly incredible. If I do a quick click on the home button the phone unlocked instantly every time. No more leaving my finger there for a second or two. One downside is it's not impossible to click the home button quickly just to turn the screen on and see your notifications. Guess I'll need to start using the power button to do that.

I think it's great as it will reduce wear and tear on the home button by using the power button.

yea its cool, ive got a great little system going, if i want to check for notifications i press power button if i want to go straight in and unlock i use home

I found it so fast I cant pre-auth Apple Pay any more.

The option still exists in wallet to double tap the home button when locked to pre-auth but doing so just opens the phone.

I hope it wakes fast into wallet as people get angry on the underground transport when you stall with a phone at rush hour

Use a different finger? I use my index finger to just turn the screen on or the first knuckle of my thumb instead of where the print is

I never really check the lock screen for notifications, I just use Notification Center but honestly like others have said, you touch the home button at all and it already reads it. I can take my finger off before the screen even is really on and it opens it up for me

When you press the home button, shift your finger a little bit as you press it. Doesn't need to be much, just enough to slightly smudge the image it takes of your fingerprint.

I'm hoping for some implementation of force touch on the screen to wake the device for notification checking. I doubt it'll happen as the power button is sufficient but t'would be nice.

That's something I hope they don't do. Even on "light" it needs quite a hard press to activate 3D Touch and I use mine in a windscreen mount a lot of the time and those things aren't the most sturdy of things for pressure on the screen.

I see I'm not the only one who thought mine was broken!

It's just too fast!!!

But yes, checking the time and/or notifications is going to have to take some adjustments---using a different finger or the side toggle switch I guess.

We'll adjust.

You'd still be able to use the buttons, ideally.

i can see them putting in a delay in a future release. this will get annoying really fast.

It's insanely fast!! Only have to leave my finger on there for less than half a second.

One thing I've noticed is that if I do unlock my phone by pressing the home button and using Touch ID, the phone becomes unresponsive for a good 5 seconds. This doesn't happen if I wake the phone with the power button and then use Touch ID.

Anyone else experiencing this? Could just be a software glitch on my end.

The finger print sensor is way too fast for me to the point that's a bit annoying. Sometimes I just wanna read the notifications on my lock screen and just by pressing the home button it unlocks my phone and then I have to go to the Notification Center. Also, a couple times I wanted to check the time and right after I press it it would unlock my phone.
