The finger print sensor is way too fast for me to the point that's a bit annoying. Sometimes I just wanna read the notifications on my lock screen and just by pressing the home button it unlocks my phone and then I have to go to the Notification Center. Also, a couple times I wanted to check the time and right after I press it it would unlock my phone.

Well quite handily the time is at the top of the screen when you unlock the phone!

I'm gunna have to try to get use to using the power button when just wanting to read the time or notifications.

I find it a little annoying as well. Yes I can just use a different finger but im just so accustomed to using my registered thumb print like on my old iPhone 6. Its going to take a while to get used to.

The speed of the new Touch ID is truly incredible. If I do a quick click on the home button the phone unlocked instantly every time. No more leaving my finger there for a second or two. One downside is it's not impossible to click the home button quickly just to turn the screen on and see your notifications. Guess I'll need to start using the power button to do that.
Anybody have any problems with it not working sometimes and have to type in the code?

It's so fast now that I forget the bulletproof security going on behind the scenes. Feels like you're just unlocking a totally unsecured phone and nothing more. It's pretty wild.

That's, and the speed of this phone overall is incredible.

If you want to check notifications just lick your finger first. Remember to do this every time.

SO I'm turning the fingerprint sensor off! and setting passcode to 4 hours. IT's just annoying! I always bragged about how awesome and fast the fingerprint sensor was on the iphone compare to other phones, but this is just too fast. Every time I try to check my notifications I find myself starting at my home screen instead and having to find my notifications. I hope they fix this.

This is literally... the funniest thing I've seen all day.

Good one, Chris Traeger.

My solution for this "issue": use the tip of your finger to press the home button instead of the pad of your finger.

Or, as others have said, use a finger not associated with Touch ID.

Yes, I have twice had it stop working at all (not even showing a mismatch, just not reading a fingerprint at all) until I rebooted the phone.

No, Apple needs to provide a stylus, that's it, yeah a stylus to push the home button! And a place to slide it into backwards so it locks and won't come out. Copy sammysung :)

We are now taking applications for best 1st world problem of the month. I submit, the too fast home button response.
Second best nominee is, the Pope made my iPhone a day late!

Or bend that finger and use the knuckle

Why don't you just wake up your phone by pressing literally any other button? You got the power button, the volume buttons, and the mute switch to choose from.

The phone is fine, it doesn't need to be "fixed", you just have to learn how to use it.

I think you should return the phone! For you to have to suffer the "toospeedyfingerprintsensorgate" is simply unacceptable. If I were you I would return within the 14 day period, and then commit hara kiri. ;)

Wait, I just thought of a solution for you. Cut tip of finger off, once stub grows over, no more print. Just push with that. Problem solved! :)

I think I'm getting threaditis.

I agree, it's fine. But the mute rocker and volume buttons don't wake the phone.
