There is no way Apple is going to limit the iPhone 5C to just China or emerging markets. This phone will go on sale worldwide from day one.

No way? So what is your position that you know this.

If the 5C is a 5S with the modifications to work with China Mobile then it doesn't work anywhere else, thus the rumors are true.

As for the rest, yeah Apple might limit this 'cheap' phone to the 'poor' countries, if that is what they want.

Except for the SIM card slot. A case would not have that. Also, it looks too thin to be cased.

Actually there are some that do have an opening for the SIM card slot, including their own cap for it. So it's hard to say either way.

It could also be a knockoff (cause they are all over China) with the iPhone 5 put into a fake back case from one of those ufixit part suppliers

So Apple can only make one 5C? It's not possible to make one that works with China Mobile and one that works for other markets?

how can you say he was careless? it is called an accident for a reason. did you even read his response?

Because he obviously didn't have a case on it. I call that careless. If you use your phone without a case, then you should be prepared to deal with scratches. No material on planet earth is impervious to getting scratched. Plastic may not SHOW scratches as clearly, but plastic is prone to cracking. Its a trade-off. Anodized aluminum is one of the most durable finishes. To get the anodizing off the phone, it would require deeper than a surface scratch. The only weak point is the chamfered edge, because it has to be painted rather than anodized. However, Apple seems to have taken steps to improve that with the graphite color instead of the dark black Slate, which uses less or even no paint on the edge.

I have a simple rubber case that is very easy to slip on and off. If I'm doing anything where I worry I might drop or throw my phone in a bag with other items, I put the case on. If I'm not worried about that, I leave the case off (which is about 95% of the time). I have yet to get a single scratch on my phone.

Do you think there will be a full white iphone 5C ? And not only the back white... Please!

Heck no. Metal trumps plastic any day in my books.

Metal also trumps wireless charging, NFC (and antennas in general), replaceable batteries and memory cards.

I always wonder why 90% of metal phone owners put plastic cases on them? At the same time 0% of plastic phone owners put metal cases on their phones. The only reasonable conclusion I can draw is that people hate metal phones.

Time for a downgrade.

Not sure if Forstall is the answer but iOS 7 does look like they beat it all day long with an ugly stick. Yuk!!
He has been responsible for all iOS versions from 1 to 6. iOS 7 is the showcase for what iOS looks without the influence of Scott Forstall. When he was fired the rumored reason was, because he was the second biggest advocate for skeuomorphic design (after Steve Jobs himself) and because he was supposed to be a jerk, not working well together with others (read Jony Ive). When Ive became also responsible for software design the ugliness happened.

The day after tomorrow real people will have iOS 7 in their hand and judge it for what it is.
Those who already prefer Windows 7 over Windows 8.

So unless Tim's planning to tap dance on a table tomorrow, I think we've seen it all. :(

Still holding out hope for his first "one more thing" moment. Right now Apple sells three iPhones - the 4, 4S and 5. I could see a chance that they would sell the 5C, 5S and delayed release 6 (a delay would be the only way they could keep the leaks under control). I know it is a stretch...but a remote chance non the less. They make the 5C available tomorrow, the 5S on the 20th as rumored and the 6 right after Thanksgiving to still give sales time before Christmas. Would still have two screen sizes and three phones.

Not holding my breath that this will happen - but is all in the realm of possibility. I also do not think it would hurt sales if the pricing pushed the 6 as the top tier device say at 64GB and 128GB.

That said - we have a better chance of seeing the iWatch than an iPhone6 this year...

Come on Tim - surprise us with something!!!

0% of plastic phone owners use cases? LOL.....according to who? My Dad has a Lumia, in a case. All my friends with Galaxies, cases.

Cases are more about personalization than anything else. And that desire doesn't disappear just because the enclosure is plastic. Lol goodness.

Great thing is, no one is forced to use it. :)

But for how long? Some apps may require the update - and if you rely on those apps, you might "have to" update. Naturally one can always choose to not use those apps/update - but at some point - saying no one is "forced" seems more like semantics.

My iPhone 4 lasted two years with barely a mark on it - it's either in my pocket (hence not wanting a case, I don't want to look like a slightly aroused Ron Jeremy all day long) or on a desk. The golf bag is the only other time I place it outside those areas but then it's in it's own pocket - I just missed the pocket this time! :)

The iPhone 4 survived multiple drops on hard surfaces too - I've actually only dropped the 5 once but all these little marks just appear, nothing major but they're there. Even the corners I damaged at the weekend aren't that bad but considering it was dropped from about 12" I'd expect no damage if it was a durable finish. I work with hard anodised aluminium (design speakers) and it is strong but brittle and brittle is bad. Plastic is far tougher impact-wise but easier to scratch in theory.

I did not say that plastic phone owners did not use cases. I said they do not use metal cases. People are fine with plastic but not metal.

how do you know when you will drop your phone? you don't. I guess you are careless for not having the case on 24/7. If someone doesn't want to put a case on their phone that is a choice. Doesn't mean they are careless.

Iphone outdated design?

I really think if Steve were here, the iphone would have changed to a new design from the 2010 style. the iphone in tech years has remained the same for long enough and then some.

New colors give it some air but it already looks old though new in these leaked picts.
