I expected Apple to produce a device that could withstand normal reasonable daily circumstances. Had Apple used higher quality aluminum or magnesium alloy, we wouldn't be chatting about this right now.

Bend it back and return it. Your situation puts too much pressure on the phone and it bends. You need a phone that is right for you.

Blaming the guy and his pants is the same as Ray Rice blaming his fiance for making him knock her out.

I'm somewhat amazed by the people who buy a phablet sized device and then complain that they can't carry them stuffed down in their pockets like their 3.5 or 4 inch device. What exactly did you expect?
Well, yes - But I'm somewhat amazed that, according to Consumer Reports, Apple engineered a phone that is weaker that the previous generation - and the previous generation was weaker than the one before that. What exactly did they expect?

Time for ip6 plus users to get cargo pants. You can put the phone in the lower leg pocket so it won't get squashed.

Didn't you hear? Apple stated that durability is OUT and fragility is IN. All the cool kids are buying products that don't last.

Try sitting in your iPad air, see what happens. The bigger they get, the more vulnerable they get.

You are missing the point completely! Where do Phones go? *in pockets*. Where do iPads go? Your answer better not be pockets haha. Normal people keep their phones in pockets therefore your argument is invalid..

Many on here like to make jabs at the skinny jeans, yet I keep reading about cargo pants. Maybe you can get away with cargo pants if you are young or retired.

Oh wow that’s a nice booty you got ”Bigbeast”…

But I really think people who deny this issue are the same people who say that gt 8600m wasn’t a big deal or that antenna gate is just a conspiracy. It’s crazy how apple sacrifices durability for making it like what 0,5mm thinner? Who notices a difference like that.

Edit, so the thread just merged while I made this post and it was weird.

Wow... all these threads about the issue and the mods pick a very clear post that shows proof of a user bending in his pocket (after being harassed last week for not showing proof) to bury in another thread. interesting.

What tells you that 0,5mm would make this phone indestructible?

It's not just the materials, it's the shape too - the flat back. If it was slightly rounded that would help. Think about trying to bend a flat sheet of metal vs. trying to bend a dome-shaped piece of metal. Domes and arches are strong shapes. That's why use them for buildings and bridges.

Or they could make it thicker.
Or just use polycarbonate.
Or go back to smaller screens.
Or just make the Apple Watch a stand-alone phone already and forge ahead into the future - start trends instead of following them.

If anything 0,5 mm should’ve been used for extra battery life.

But if they made the metal 1mm thicker and used stainless steel then it would be indestructible.

Our resident statistician is here to save the day.........

It is SIGNIFICANT to everyone that plops down $650+ for a phone that warps in a pocket.

But only to them not for the device. 500,000 among 10 million is significant because it's just 5 percent . 0.0003 is not even a statistic

What do you think of the htc one

Those who offer up the excuse of changing one's wardrobe to accommodate a phone are crazy in my opinion btw.

"Excuse"? Do you mean "solution"? Whether or not it's an option you'd be willing to exercise, why is it so crazy? Going from a 4" to a 5.5" phone is a lifestyle change, whether you like it or not. Is it so wild an expectation that you might opt for clothes with more room to accommodate your new phone?
