Seems to me the only thing new that can be learned from this leak is that the CIA has it's own set of hacking tools. We already knew that the NSA had similar tools from earlier leaks.

Whew, Alex Jones was right. The CIA can tap everything from your smartphone to your toaster and can even control your cars to make you disappear. They have exploits to every major antivirus software that they've kept to themselves, not even sharing them with the NSA. They can also plant in-house malware that masquerades as from a foreign intelligence agency.

The CIA might as well be a government in itself. Too bad JFK didn't get around to splintering it into a thousand pieces.

Is anyone shocked?

All major intelligence agencies engage in this. Because the iPhone is used by so many people worldwide, I'd be disappointed if the CIA did not have exploit tools available.

The NSA, for years, has been involved through front groups in the standards bodies that create encryption types...specifically to advocate for methods they already have a workaround for.

The CIA is it's own government, and has been for decades.

And are you not so sure the "Russian" issue is not a diversion from the Dems to cover their tracks? Keep in mind, none of the reports of Trump, or Trump people colluding with Russia have been verifiable or confirmed. In fact, most have been debunked along the way as being total BS or business as usual meetings.

As for me, I'm keeping an open mind in both directions... what if Trump is right? If he is, then it's biggest corruption exposure ever of our current government. If the Dems are right, then the same holds true in the other direction.

The thing about Trump is he has lied openly too many times to count. This is why I don't believe a word he says. He even lies about minor things like crowd sizes and how many electoral votes he has.

nationalism is dangerous... we are supposed to abide by the constitution.

What is unconstitutional about this?

There is no evidence to suggest that either the NSA, the FBI, or the CIA are using these tools against US citizens or residents without a warrant? How is this, in any substantive legal manner, any different from law enforcement's technical ability to place a wiretap on a landline telephone?

Anti privacy advocates make me sad.

The number one lie people tell themselves is that "The Government can't/won't do that!"

The number two lie people tell themselves is "Well, I'm not doing anything wrong, so why does it matter?"

The truth is that an innocent person cannot be manipulated, as they have nothing to hold over them. Sooner, or later, something valuable will be found by those that want to manipulate you, and will, at their leisure, use that to bend your will.

Yep. It's called blackmail.

Because in this day and age, information=power (and/or big profits). But history teaches us that those with power don't cede it willingly. As it relates to the deepstate, your information can (and will) very likely be weaponized against you.

....you're joking right?

Every single one of those agencies have been caught lying, in case a clear cut case of perjury, about the scale of their information collection. Dozens of examples have been in public view for years of how the laws on spying on Americans have been ignored, or a legal exemption has been applied/constructed.

CIA not allowed to spy on US citizens. Developing tools for a specific device or group of devices for international spying well within their charter. Now if the CIA is caught giving or using these tools for spying on US citizens, a totally different discussion.

Funny how Wikileaks only seems to have leaks that target Western democracy. I'm sure it's all just a coincidence.
....Gather round folks, we have a clear example of a person whom has never bothered to actually go through Wikileaks website! Your post is 100% nonsense. Go to their site, use some of the filtering tools.

Our information sharing agreements with the GCHQ (spelling?) and others make that a law without teeth. We routinely use our allies spying capabilities in our country to hand over information on Americans.

In the court of law, thinking that an event happened and proving that an event happened makes quite a difference.
But we're not in a court of law. Neither is the CIA. We all knew they were doing it, we've always known they were doing it. These wikileaks details just provide some confirmation.

<dons tin foil hat>
Or it could be a controlled false flag leak by the CIA. OMG! They're doing X! (They're actually doing Y,Z,A,B, and C)o_O
