I can't see what's wrong with the current camera in the 3GS. I've had some cracking photos from it.

The largest monitor resolution a consumer can buy is 2560x1600.

that's about almost 4.1MP.

99.99% of the time on the internet, you'd look at images that are 15% this size. 800x600, 1024x768, even 1280x1024 is rare. More pixels isn't necessarily a bad thing but only if you want to pixel peep, crop in, or shoot home made map images.

I'll take a 3.2MP high quality lens with flash than an 8MP low quality camera any day.

Picture quality also depends on the skill of the photographer. I've seen absolutely stunning pics taken with the 3GS by people who actually know what they're doing. My pics can't even approach theirs in clarity.
