Pretty unlikely we'll see something that big happen with the 6S. S updates are generally more incremental than big changes like this.

Agreed but most people probably still don't want it.

That kind of thinking only applies in the early rumor stage. If we get a pile of rumors that says it's coming, those very same "most people" will begin to shift on what they want. As the rumors gain credibility, it evolves into "it's kind of growing on me" and "I'll have to wait & see". Then, Apple rolls it out and we gush about the greatness of it and how did we ever get by without it.

See early rumors of bigger-screened iPhones for much of the same sentiment. "Abomination" and "99% don't want" transitioned to "shut up and take my money" once Apple rolled out the 6. The biggest catalyst is when Apple actually appears to be going with some rumor. As soon as "we" see that, whatever the concept happens to be becomes a very desirable, must-have.

"you don't have to be the first one to do it, you just have to do it right"

In before 2011 called jokes,

in before "but it's not about making it first, it's about making it right",

in before "we should wait and see how Apple does this, they could pull it off"

Pick your position.

Glassed Silver:mac

But you weren't in befor "but it's not about....."
Ohhhhh that's embarrassing!

Apple has plans to discontinue the iPad mini in favor of the upcoming release of the still-rumored iPad Pro.

Hahahahaha!!!! Discontinuing the iPad Mini, hahahaha!!!! Oh, Midweek humor at its best.

Well, considering like the Mac Mini, the new iPad Mini got a shaft upgrade this year, maybe Apple wants the Minis and iPod Touch to disappear via a slow death. :(

Rumor is BS. The next iPhone will be the 6S/6S+, which is a refinement/improvement of the current 6 and 6+.

So already, they got that part of the speculation wrong.

If Apple was bonkers enough to attempt some "revolutionary 3D" iPhone…. it would have to wait until at least iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. Which is so obviously not the next iPhone.

This Taiwanese rumor site…. already they throw out 2 very far-fetched and sketchy rumors in the span of 48 hours. I call BS on them. They are desperately trying to get attention. Trying to get hits for their website. The tactic seems to be working for them?

3GS - Speed
4S - Siri
5S - Security
6S - Stereoscopic ?

No, i dont think so either!

so much for flat...

so they spend 2 iOS iterations making it flat to then bring 3D to the iphone....

I don't even use 3D on my 3DS XL GameBoy. I generally have it off, or at the most on the lowest setting just to see how a certain scene is, but it often gets too blurry for me and I quickly disable it. I rather them focus on better memory/more of it (2+ GB ram, 256 GB drive, or the very least, embrace microSD already)

iPad mini discontinued? No. No. Apple is not that stupid. Im going to mark this article as nothing but a rumor for me.

Can't wait for this to be on the iPhone 6S! Good thing rumors were reliable on the sapphire glass. Oh wait...

Hah, this joke would be funny if there weren't already 3D Android phones and Nintendo 3DS...

Apple late to the party again.

Apple no longer feels it's that important to "do things first". They just want to be the "first to do it right".

Android/Samsung will always want rush to do it first and do it with craptastic execution. That sounds about right for Android. Gee, those Samsung "smartwatches", in before Apple. Like they really got anywhere, huh?

I don't think the 3D stuff is why the Fire Phone failed.....

That being said, I don't see why I would need/want this. Unless it's done in a way I'm not understanding or thinking of.

Oh joy, it's already time for iPhone 7 rumors. Who cares what iPhone 7 is like as long as it is at least 2mm thinner and easier to bend back into shape.

Next year its a S model and therefore, you will see the same chassis with A9, better camera and hopefully 2GB - not much more I am expecting.
