It should include LED notifications. Apple needs to wake up and get off their pedestal. Multi color LED notifications are standard in most phones and look cool.

This whole "water resistance" is meaningless if Apple will not stand by their product and replace it because of water damage, in my opinion. Until they do that, I won't be testing out the water resistance.

I'm sure you'll expect them to replace your phone when you smash it as well?

I personally couldn't care less about some water resistance. What I would rather like us to get is some cold resistance. As a person who lives in Finland, I cannot even describe you how quickly iPhone shuts down if it gets even little bit too cold. You honestly only need like 0 Celcius and some cold wind and you iPhone will shut down.
Could be that your phone have a faulty battery, check if your phone is covered in Apples recent iPhone battery replacement program.

I had exactly the same issues, got the battery replaced and it's like having a new phone.

Have courage! Give me water resistance + headphone jack and I'm sold. Other then that. Meh.

Thank god I read this article before I got comfortable with using my iPhone7 around the sink...

btw, I have spilled/splashed water on my iphone 6 many times and it didn't affect it.

I think the iPhones are completely underrated whrn it comes to water resistance. That said, even iPhone 6s is fairly water resistant. Even though Apple doesn't really specify this. One of the reasons is that they use more adhesive in the iPhone 6s, which adds more protection, even though that's not what Apple intended it to be that way.

Current state of the Macrumors boards:

Tim Cook announces iPhone 8 to be cheaper, have all the features people have been asking for and come with free $100 bill.

"Psh, only $100? Tim is killing this company."

I have been a hardcore Apple fan for a long time and enjoyed a ton of their products over the years, but the attitude of some of the people on these boards over the last 6-12 months that claim to be Apple fans, really shows why a lot of people can't stand Apple fans.

Agreed. The naysayers or negativity on here doesn't influence my decisions for Apple purchasing. Apple puts out a premium product and you pay a premium dollar, but you get results in the end. Not everybody will be happy with their products, and that's fine, but I don't have an issue where it affects my personal life or allow it to take such negativity like it does to others apparently on this site.

The Apple Watch, AirPods, my iPhone 7, have all been great devices that I really enjoyed in the last few purchases this year.

This.

It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. If it works for you then enjoy it.

It does upset me to see so much negativity, but hey ho - let them moan. It's up to them if they want to be miserable all the time. Just don't let them take the wind out of your sails.

You honestly only need like 0 Celcius and some cold wind and you iPhone will shut down. Then the only way to get your iPhone back up and running is to warm it up which can take some time. Considering how far technology has brought us, the cold resistance is simply something no one seems to care about even though most people don't live in warm countries.
As someone who lives in Finland has has owned/used 4S, 5, 5S. 6 Plus and 7 Plus - take your phone for warranty service, what you are experiencing is completely not normal. I normally only start experiencing problems after an hour or more of being outside when it's -20c or colder.

On a sidenote, you have things backwards, most people definately DO live in warmer countries than Finland.

Great! Finally it can replace the long forgotten Mac Pro. Amazing how new tech takes over for the old and outdated.

huh? they wouldn't lie for the sake of it. Alot of the top youtube reviewers are fans just like anybody else they just get paid for giving reviews.

everythingapplepro for one wouldn't do a test and then if something went wrong they wouldn't just edit it out. If anything it would get him more attention if it did go wrong.

They have no reason to lie.
Not really.Being an Apple fan who bought a $300 book just for bullet testing, wouldnt be surprised if he removed the iPhone in that 15 minute interval and "Caused" the iPhone to win

He really would have no reason to do that. Not like he has an agenda or needs extra attention

But what if I crash and the don't deploy, is there some liability if I'm injured?
Yes! The first step with companies and warranties is to "deny" or note in their wording that certain things are not covered. You see specifics with automobiles and what parts. However, water resistance, and not covered, is sometimes worded to stop people from pursuing coverage. If you drop you iPhone 7 in the toiler and it stops working, the first hope is that people won't try and get a replacement. The second is to say it isn't covered. You can get a replacement.

Have you ever used an automatic car wash - even touchless? They note on the wall that the owner is not responsible for damage. If you go in there with a truck so big it doesn't fit and the mechanics of the car wash scratch the sides, you won't get coverage. If you drive a little civic and it breaks your side mirror just by the force of the water, they are responsible. They just hope you read the sign and drop it. The owner may even say they are not responsible and hope it ends there.

Bottom line is that they are responsible for normal/proper as rated by the product and it will be up to them to prove that you are responsible. Won't be worth it for them to hire a lawyer at $500 an hour for a $500 product that they can't prove you abused.

Nice to have, not really a selling point. Similar to having stronger scratch resistance glass that reflects less light and a casing that is easier to grip. I would not base my purchase on something being IPxx, just a cherry on the top feature.
Yes, but Apple devices are mostly a collection of many "Nice to have, not really a selling point" features. This is what makes them stand out.
