I have a few people that come into my work that I talk phones with when I am suppose to be doing other things haha.

We wind up talking phones and tablets all the time at work. Just about everyone in the office is pretty knowledgeable when it comes to technology, and has either a Galaxy Nexus or a Nexus 4, so we wind up talking phones and such quite often.

My RMA Nexus 4 is due this week. These next two weeks are really going to determine what smartphone I own in 2013.

Really hope the RMA Nexus 4 is defect-free.

The best thing about the nexus is with the same money you can upgrade yearly and it will still be cheaper than upgrading I phones every two years on contract.

Depending on your carrier. If I am with att on my current plan, I pay the same a month whether I out right buy my phone or bring my own. Upgrading every 2 years to the new iphone cost $199 so it is actually cheaper. It is cheaper than upgrading every year though if the nexus' stay under $400.

I've had a few people ask me if mine was the S3. Samsung is really becoming synonymous with android. I wish people started to realize that Google also sells really great android devices that are stock.

The thing is, most people have never seen stock android or even know what that means.

Jazzed up mine a little bit with a CF skin from DBrand.

Took a really long time for it to get to me, they ship from Canada.

Exactly. People buy Motorola, Samsung and LG. Android just happens to be on them. I'd be willing to bet the OS itself plays a minimal factor for most people. Advertised features, brand recognition and word of mouth play a bigger factor. From what I see anyway. Any smartphone will do the same thing for the average joe today. They all have twitter, instagram, facebook, ruzzle, bubble shooter and texting and calling.

Got my RMA Nexus 4.

The call quality still sucks. I still sound choppy to the other person.

I eliminated all other factors. The only thing left is LG. LG sucks.

Again...get rid of it... obviously it isn't for you. You seem to have all these issues...just move on. No need for all the melodrama.

Nexus 4 in the house have been really good, update improved a lot battery life and honestly call quality never a problem.

That is so strange b.c I never had an issue with call quality on 3 different nexus devices (indecisive haha)

I had some sound quality issues talking to my dad yesterday, but every other person I have spoken to has been crystal clear on both ends. So I'm thinking it was probably more my dad's phone causing the issue than mine.

Poor call quality isn't for anyone.

I'll decide what to do when the time comes but is this not the nexus 4 owners thread for discussion? And in an open forum? Careful there. Sounds awfully apple fan boy like to discourage any negativity regarding the nexus 4.

You're also free to put me on ignore.

Why does it have to go back to Apple??? No one is talking about Apple here....as you said, this it the Nexus 4 discussion.

I haven't experienced any call quality issues.....I would agree with iGentleman....it seems as though you are determined to find something wrong with the phone - why put yourself through it when you know you won't like it?

Just get your GS4 when it comes out in a couple of weeks and be happy!

Don't be ridiculous. No one intentionally looks for issues. It just has them.

Like I said I'll decide when the time comes but until then my phone is the nexus 4 and I'm discussing it in the thread.

Don't be daft about the apple mention. You know why I brought it up. It's called a comparison.

Really the only thing I need from the n5 is better battery. I can still live with no LTE since I get between 7-10 down on att HSPA+. Obviously better speaker location would be a plus, but battery is the number 1 improvement they need to make....that is unless KLP does something to improve it.

edit: I could make sweet sweet love to that wireless charger. Talk about something so simple, yet so useful!

The fact that you seem to have all these issues, when none of the rest of us have had them indicate either you're extremely picky or very unlucky....in both cases, why keep trying? From your other posts we know you're a huge Samsung fan....why keep the N4 when you know it won't do it for you?

And I'm not being daft....simply sick and tired of the constant necessity to drag Apple or "apple fan boys" into any and every discussion. You can easily make a point without trying to spark some flame war....

Did you consider those of us who apparently don't want to see any problems with the Nexus 4 simply TRULY don't have problems with our Nexus 4s?

After 4.2.2 I've experienced much much better battery life - but I'm still convinced there is more to fix and that its software related....

Better Battery Stats shows a "msm_hsic_host" kernel wakelock as the single biggest drainer of my battery - after doing some digging on XDA, it seems this kernel is related to the wireless tech - both wifi and cell data. Apparently 4.2.2 vastly improved the wifi part, but I still notice quite a high percentage due to the fact that I'm on cellular data most of the day.

I think KLP can hopefully fix this further - seems the phone wakes to look for a signal but stays awake too long even after it finds one.....something like that.

What? I don't own a single Samsung product. Get your facts straight. I also like the Nexus 4. You need to dig further if you're going to make statements about other people. I respect some of the things Samsung is doing, and I give credit where credit is due for their recent growth. That hardly makes me a "huge Samsung fan." Again, not a single Samsung product in the house. Not even a fridge.

Again, put me on ignore. I don't believe I'm breaching any forum rules by comparing.

Again, what? I'm not saying others can't talk about how much they like their Nexus 4. There's plenty to like about it, and I've discussed what I like about the device plenty of times here.

You really should do your research more before you argue with straw man.

This is a thread about Nexus 4 owners. I am a Nexus 4 owner. There are no rules about whether it can only be about good or bad things about the Nexus 4. Calm down.

What criticisms do you have for Samsung? I've seen treatises from you on what Apple is doing wrong, now we get what's wrong with the Nexus. I simply made the "Samsung-fan" statement because I don't believe I've seen you say anything bad about Samsung?

Please feel free to put me in my place.

"Comparing"....lol you know full well what you're doing. I won't argue with you though....say what you need to say.

Talk about straw man....I never said anything of the sort. YOU compared those (specifically iGentleman) saying they didn't have issues with the Nexus 4 to "Apple fan boys" discouraging negativity about a product they like. How about the fact they are simply stating they haven't ever had the issues you're speaking of?

This is all purely anecdotal evidence (which reigns supreme here). But if your point that the Nexus 4 has terrible call quality is valid, someone else saying they've never had an issue with call quality shouldn't be characterized as a comparison to an Apple fan boy discouraging negativity.....

Pot, meet kettle.

Do you really have an issue with those of us who don't have these problems with our phones? Why do you feel the need to criticize so much? Obviously, this is just my experience (from what I've seen - I'll admit, I haven't read every one of your posts), but it seems you have a lot more to say (negative) about Apple products and this Nexus 4 than Samsung. As I said earlier, I'd love to hear your thoughts on Samsung's weaknesses.

It would seem the purpose of these forums (at least in my view) is (1) to share information about upcoming releases and rumors, (2) Get help/answers to questions or problems one may be having, and (3) to get advice or find out new ways to use/improve one's device. I don't find making a whiny negative statement about a device to be all that constructive....if you have a question, "Do any of you experience call quality issues?", that's one thing. But to simply come here and rant and rave about each phone's perceived shortcomings would likely be better done in a letter to the powers that be at Google, LG or Apple.

Negativity breeds discontent. Especially negativity for the sake of it, with no real desire to find/provide a solution.

That is so strange b.c I never had an issue with call quality on 3 different nexus devices (indecisive haha)
Exactly. The same here. Not only that, I work in an office where probably half of everyone has a Nexus 4 (just about everyone else has a GNex), and none of us have that problem either.

Poor call quality isn't for anyone.
If it's so bad, get rid of it and move on. For some reason, you're having all these issues, so why not move on and be done with it. It's not like going through a divorce. It's just a phone.

The incessant complaining has gotten old. You have so many "issues", yet you keep the phone.. Why not simply go get something that would make you happier? Don't you think that makes more sense than complaining on a message board every day about something you have the power to change?

I haven't experienced any call quality issues.....I would agree with iGentleman....it seems as though you are determined to find something wrong with the phone - why put yourself through it when you know you won't like it?

+1 Exactly! I know if it were I, and I were experiencing such a vast number of issues, I'd have long rid myself of the phone.

The fact that you seem to have all these issues, when none of the rest of us have had them indicate either you're extremely picky or very unlucky....in both cases, why keep trying? From your other posts we know you're a huge Samsung fan....why keep the N4 when you know it won't do it for you?

Agreed. The melodrama is worn out. If a phone doesn't work for a person, then it would stand to reason that person would replace it.

Did you consider those of us who apparently don't want to see any problems with the Nexus 4 simply TRULY don't have problems with our Nexus 4s?

I don't know a single person that has had these problems...especially call quality. The call quality for me, and for everyone I know that has one (which is quite a few people), has been quite clear.

Yeah I'm looking forward to KLP. I'm hoping I'll get it some time next month.

You could not have stated that any better!! !!!*Standing ovation*!!!

Fair enough. I'll stop complaining.

I've NEVER had any luck with LG products from their TV's to their ductless wall hung heat pumps.

I was very disappointed when I found out the nexus was going to be LG. I would have bought it and been in the same place as you.

Tbh I'm not all impressed with my N10. I feel that there is a lot of improvement to be made in the software. I think its worse on the N10 then the N4 which I obviously have no experience with. :)
