What? I don't own a single Samsung product. Get your facts straight. I also like the Nexus 4. You need to dig further if you're going to make statements about other people. I respect some of the things Samsung is doing, and I give credit where credit is due for their recent growth. That hardly makes me a "huge Samsung fan." Again, not a single Samsung product in the house. Not even a fridge.

Again, put me on ignore. I don't believe I'm breaching any forum rules by comparing.

Again, what? I'm not saying others can't talk about how much they like their Nexus 4. There's plenty to like about it, and I've discussed what I like about the device plenty of times here.

You really should do your research more before you argue with straw man.

This is a thread about Nexus 4 owners. I am a Nexus 4 owner. There are no rules about whether it can only be about good or bad things about the Nexus 4. Calm down.

Actually you are. Insulting people and calling them Apple fanboy's is against forum rules. More than that, it's sickening to read.

That's the modus operandi around here .... 'I like my iPhone' > stupid apple fan boy. In your case, you don't like your replacement Nexus, another poster suggests you try Samsung. And what is your response? "You're sounding like an apple fanboy". What's that mean? What's your point? An Apple fanboy is stupid? Is an apple fanboy is blindly loyal? An apple fanboy is a third class citizen?

People do like to be rude and and cause a riff with the insult. You know what you meant. The fact is it's incredibly immature and has become a plague on this website. Forget the ignore button the mods need to start banning people spewing this trash.

The bigger question is, people please tell me, what is wrong with owning an iPhone and enjoying it? What is wrong with owning an iPhone enjoying it and then writing about it on an Apple discussion forum?

Why do people need to start spewing insults like 'Apple fanboy' the moment they read something they don't like. Does it make them feel better? Cool? Superior?

Why are the fans of android phones even here? Why the heck wouldn't you be over on Android form in a Nexus subsection disgusting this? Seems to me as foolish as going to buy a Porsche and sitting trashing Cadillacs on a Cadillac website all day, freaking rediculous.

Why am I here in the alternative to iOS devices section? Because I have two lines, on one line I use an iPhone, on the second line I'm always testing new devices that come on the market whether it's Android, Windows for BlackBerry. I come here to read how other people, most likely iPhone users, are enjoying their varous phones but I certainly don't come here to read all this crap about fanboys, drinking the Kool-Aid blah blah blah. If people can't write something that contributes to a conversation or can't be positive or simply decent then don't post. In the end these childish acts only make fools of the posters anyway.

Thank you and have a nice day! :)

I think we've effectively beaten a dead horse - onthecouchagain generally has good points....let's not be too harsh as he's already agreed to chill on the complaining....

I'm just as frustrated with those who spew the "apple fanboy" line as you are....but (and I'm guilty of this) going to the other extreme to berate someone who does it isn't the way either.....

I apologize for the harshness of my posts as well - let's use these forums as they were meant to be used. To share ideas about products we all like, to ask questions about things we don't understand and to get advice on how to fix things or what to get. :D

Because some people use iOS and Android as you yourself mentioned below. In the case of myself, it's because I own Mac computers and have Android devices as well as iOS.

I am here because I own both, an iPhone and a Nexus 4. I also own a Nexus 7. The fact that the alternatives forum exists on the Macrumors forums give all of us Android users the right to be here. I thought that was obvious.

I prefer to use my Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 more than my iPhone. The display on my 4 and 7 is pretty freakin amazing.

Right. That is against forum rules. And I didn't do that:

I'll decide what to do when the time comes but is this not the nexus 4 owners thread for discussion? And in an open forum? Careful there. Sounds awfully apple fan boy like to discourage any negativity regarding the nexus 4.

...another poster suggests you try Samsung. And what is your response? "You're sounding like an apple fanboy"...

My response had nothing to do with iGentleman's suggestion of switching to a Samsung. Nothing.

And how does this contribute to the conversation?

Someone says Apple fanboy not even talking about you and you write a novel. Then go on about how childish other people are. Right. You have a long road ahead of you if this bothers you that much....sticks and stones man....

LOUD NOISES!!!!!!!!

Seriously people, take this somewhere else. Nobody cares about your petty arguments, either talk about the Nexus 4 or take it to PM.

I will say that I notice my new Nexus 4's screen is so much better than the old one. Doing a side by side, the old one looks incredibly washed out. I didn't notice it until the new one came.

Did Google/LG change their panels or something at some point in production? Blacks and colors in general look richer, more vibrant.

Doubt it, i think its fair to say you indeed had a bad unit :) looking forward heard about your experience with this unit.

I actually am getting a RMA. The one have I now has this weird burn in on the screen. Imagine this |||--|||--|||--- really small and vertically on the entire screen. In the dark and in the dark when the screen is on you cannot tell, but in the sun light the display is almost unreadable.

I tried looking online and no one else has had the problem, or no one that I could find. I think it is a really weird case. It almost looks like sensors under the display got too hot or something.

My eyes are bleeding...

Now even the nexus 4 looks beautiful compared to that Frankenstein in the picture.

Don't be daft about the apple mention. You know why I brought it up. It's called a comparison.

Or maybe a little apple love is still in the heart :)

----------

Exactly. People buy Motorola, Samsung and LG. Android just happens to be on them. I'd be willing to bet the OS itself plays a minimal factor for most people. Advertised features, brand recognition and word of mouth play a bigger factor. From what I see anyway. Any smartphone will do the same thing for the average joe today. They all have twitter, instagram, facebook, ruzzle, bubble shooter and texting and calling.

And that is what people disputing tizen's possible success ignore. Samsung is quickly going where google and samsung could have an issue in the future.

Will be interesting to watch.

Not sure what you mean but yes. Plenty. I have many apple products.

I'm getting another rma too. I called Google about the one they sent me still having the same problem and they insist it's a defective unit. Yes, two in a row, says them. They convinced me to let them send one more before I consider a full refund.

Well you cannot rule out getting two defective units in a row. It is a small probability but it is not zero so there.

Are you open to non-nexus handsets? Because otherwise it is a long wait till fall.

What's funny is that both representatives that I've spoken with with two separate Nexus 4's could hear the choppiness. The second rep said there's been a few cases of this issue and it's always been hardware because they came from a variety of different services. I, myself, have also tested my other family lines on the same network with no choppiness or call quality issues, so I know it's not T-Mobile.

Third time's the charm, they say...

Not a fan of the edge to edge display....unless accidental touch detection tech gets much better....I'm always miss-hitting my N4 screen with my palm when I reach to the far side of the phone.

Me too. Especially when typing with one hand. But I assume this is true with all large devices nowadays, so I put up with it. Hate accidentally hitting the menu button on the bottom right with my palm in certain apps, or the settings key on SwiftKey on the bottom left with my palm.

Why would I wait till Fall? I have no interest in the iPhone, if that's what you're suggesting. Well, not unless Apple overhauls iOS and the hardware.

I'm absolutely open to non-Nexus devices. March 14 may decide it for me. Until now, the Nexus 4 is my device. There are many things I like about it, just not sure why phone calls are so choppy on the other end. Since Google themselves heard it and were so insistant on replacing it for me, I said sure. It'll buy me a little more time until March 14 to make my decision.

I suppose the HTC One is a distant alternative, too, but I'm trying not to let superficial aesthetics get the better of me. I still don't trust HTC.
