Nexus 5

Well, since we don't have the Google Play Store in Sweden yet, LG has decided to sell the device just like they did last year with the N4. Given how gracious they want to be, they've decided to release the 16 GB model for the fair price of $688. Seriously, go **** yourself LG. Not even with the 25% VAT we have here would one ever get close to that price point.
 
I selected the regular shipping and am suprised to have a Tuesday deliver eta. Glad I didn't pay more for shipping. :)

Could not get the mrs order in on time. Missed first batch of stock and got her order on the 2-3 week inventory. I'm hoping those get filled early. I'm gonna be in the doghouse while she watches me play with my nexus.


On another note. Will the nexus 5 take a sim from the iPhone 5 or is it a different standard.

The nexus 5 takes a micro sim, so you'll have to get a new one or use a nano to micro adapter.

I bought a cheap $1 adapter on amazon. I don't have an iPhone but I just wanted to be prepared and it was super cheap.
 
Thanks guys! From what I've read att corp stores are easy going on giving out SIM cards for free. My luck though I will get some guy whose upset I'm not buying a phone from him. I've had a hard time in the past getting unlimited data converted from android to iPhone. They act like they are giving me an exception doing it.
 
Monday for me. Sadly, mines is an hour away from me now! Now, watch they don't delivery it until tomorrow night for me. Everytime I get EOD, it shows up very late in the evening. :(

Be very careful to not get the sim adapter stuck in your new phone. It happened to me last launch and I had to send it back for a replacement.

Not crazy at all. We (family of two) saved about $500/year and have much better data by going from AT&T to them. The break even point for buying off subsidy isn't very far out - typically 8 months or so.

It's odd - I have an expected delivery date of Tuesday and the parcel has been hanging out in a UPS hub in Kentucky since late Friday night. I thought shipments continued to travel from one hub to the next during the weekend but whatever. I have a list of things to do at home a mile long to keep me busy anyway... I must continue or the remodel will never be complete.

This. Sometimes the adapters get stuck. Just go to your carrier and ask for a micro sim. I did that with att yesterday. They left my plan alone so it still shows I have an iPhone LTE plan

None of this was a big deal last year when iPhone 5 came out, but it is now in the Nexus, one year later. Oh ya, and LTE, that thing that Nexus 4 never needed, it's a huge upgrade in the Nexus 5 now? Please.

Nexus 5 is a great phone and a great upgrade over its predecessor, but it isn't revolutionary like all the new iterations of flagship phones these days.

You do realize this Nexus works on Sprint, T-Mobile, and AT&T, right? The same exact phone works on all those networks. That's really rare.

So what are you pissed off about? That you're a Verizon customer and don't get in on the fun? Blame your carrier for that, not Google. If they hadn't crapped all over the Galaxy Nexus, you'd probably have the Nexus 5, but because of that, you'll probably have to wait a couple of generations. Google wasn't happy with Verizon at all.

Or, are you pissed that you can't get it subsidized on AT&T? If that's the case, stop being a cheap bas%$#&@ and buy the damn thing for a couple of hundred more. You'd be an idiot to buy it on contract anyway when it's so cheap off contract.

Some people just need something to complain about. :rolleyes:
 
My phone shipped!!! Woot, guess the shipping bots are working Sunday. Odd though, my card has not been charged yet.

Yeah. I am going on vacation next Saturday November 9th and will be out of country.

I felt I had to have 2 day shipping cause it needed to be at my house by next Friday. And regular shipping was 3-5 business days. So couldn't risk it being out of country till November 18th.

Oh well it's only $4 more for 2 day shipping.

The suckie thing is I am on business tomorrow till Friday evening November 8th. So miss Monday delivery. But my wife will be home to get the package.
