Ordered at 2:04pm on Thursday. Shipping went live Friday night and my phone will be delivered tomorrow. It's sitting in the UPS warehouse right here in town right now. Just gotta wait for the UPS man to show up at my office in the morning.

By the way, I used the standard shipping option, not expedited.

Lots of people are scrambling to validate things like battery life and camera quality. I'm personally waiting for the the formal Verge and Anandtech review which is more scientific and less anecdotal than what we are seeing currently in terms of device feedback.

I won't put any stock in iVerge's review after seeing how they dogged it on their podcast Friday night. I don't think they even had on in-hand at that point. I lost a lot of respect for them over that.

I agree about the iVerge reviews on non iOS devices. But they can be used to sort of get a balance so to speak. As long as you know what their slant will be beforehand.

I just wish the reviews would start dropping. I gave up on my HTC One because of the camera and switched back to iOS last weekend. But I'd like a 2nd device so I can play around with Android and I think the N5 is probably the one.

Ordered mine at 1:17PM CST on Thursday and received my shipping confirmation Friday night. Set to deliver Tuesday.

I wager that we will be up to our eyeballs in reviews before veterens day.

Cnet put their review up but it seems a bit weak and rushed for the sake of being first.

Sure, all things considered. But my original point, which only 2 other people seem to have understand, is that when you look at it objectively, it is a decent upgrade with no additional cost to the consumer. You know what other phone falls under that? The 5s, GS4, HTC One, etc.

Well, no phone has been earth shattering since the first few touchscreen devices that went mainstream (galaxy, iphone, desire etc). Everything since 2009/2010 is just an iterative upgrade.

I don't see a single phone yet which can transform into my personal robotic servant yet. Until then this debate is pointless.

The verge is nothing more now than glorified engaget. Their reviews are all a personal rant of how a reviewer thinks things should be. The way they treat ms products is even more childish.

Anandtech, gsmarena etc are the reviews you should look for where leave their personal drama queen stuff aside and just review the unit as is.

Agreed. All sites have bias. All of them. But those sites you mentioned tend to not let it interfere with the reviews.

Battery life doesn't seem great (people with the phone on XDA are saying it).
It seems better than the N4, which is good. With that screen and that battery, I wasn't expecting much, which is why I never go anywhere without my personal generator.

A gentleman would let his wife have the first phone to come in and wait for the other one. :p

I got a 32 gig and all she needed was the 16gig. I love my wife to death BUT her iPhone 5 was stolen when she left it in her call unlocked. Prior to that happening she managed to scratch it heavily twice in the first month of ownership. She's been using her iPhone 4 which has been dropped, thrown, scratched to hell, gone down a flight of stairs(she fell with it), soaked by spilled water, boiled (yeah boiled!).....

I'll move into the shed in my backyard before she gets to use my phone for 3 weeks.

Oh yeah man, I agree fully, but it does give me hope that the run down test will return positive results. My luck, I always manage to get less battery life than others and can't figure out why. Low expectations here. I WILL be happy lol. :)

When I ordered a Nexus 7, Nexus 4, and Nexus 10, they never sent or updated tracking information (on GW) until the day it was to be delivered...
