You have just given me even more hope that it won't really be 3-4 weeks before my phone ships.

That's exactly why I posted it! I knew some folks had to of missed out on the first batch. Couldn't believe how many sold in such a short period of time.

You will probably get your notice tonight bud. She ordered 16 gig black.

So, where can I go to get some quality hands-on time with the Nexus 5? I am genuinely intrigued by this phone. I figure that if I can save $300 instead of buying a 5S, it would be worth my while. I'm coming from a iPhone 4.

BTW, I really like vanilla Android. I was playing with a 2012 Nexus 7 this whole weekend and it was a great experience compared to my past android adventures (with mostly frustrating low end virgin mobile phones.)
T-Mobile might be your best bet unless you happen to know someone who bought one. :) It'll likely be a few weeks before you can find them in stores, regardless.

Well mine arrived about 3 hours mins ago. Initial impressions are very good. The build quality is very good, no rattles, zero bleed on the screen ect. The screen is also much more vibrant then my Nexus 4. The speaker is about the same volume as the nexus 4 but the quality is 10x better, very clear. Call quality is also very good and a step up from the Nexus 4. Ive just spent about 30 mins taking some random snaps at work, the camera may not be the best out there but it is very good and a big step up from my Nexus 4, the main difference is i get consistent sharp (in focus) photos.

Do we have any word or confirmations of timeline for rollout to retailers like BBY and Radioshack?

In other words - am I better off ordering from Play with the 3-4+ week shipping times or waiting to be able to go pick one up from the local BBY?

I believe the camera sensor in the Samsung S4 and Note 3 is far superior to that of the Nexus 5, so even if the Galaxy GE phones only had 8mp cameras, they would still win out.

I think the battery in the Nexus 5 will equal that of the S4 though, if not do better. Different CPU's with the Nexus 5 having the better of the two.

Seriously doubt that. The Nexus 5 has a CPU that is a little more efficient, sure. But screen is the biggest power hog. And the GS4 has a lower power AMOLED screen and a bigger battery to more than compensate. Still, I'd never buy a GS4. GPE or not.

I was debating this too a few pages back. Since google is shipping things early lets hope 3-4 weeks is not accurate. Also, we are thinking best buy will have an up charge and if you have warranty issues people have pointed out that it's much better dealing with Google than LG/Best Buy.

I ordered my N5 on Friday morning at 1:15am EST with shipping estimates of 3-4 weeks.

Guess what!!!! I just got shipping confirmation!!!
WOOHOOO!!!

Great! Today is your lucky day....you should buy a lotto ticket! :)
Congrats! Let us know your thoughts when you get it and try it out!

Quick question: The area that I live (Kansas City) shipping for both 2nd day air and UPS ground is the same. How is this supposed to even happen lol? I paid an extra $4 for my package to get here in "2" business days but it will be here the 6th regardless of which shipping service I use!!

According to my tracking, it says that the label has been created on 11/4 (so monday). By my logic, 2 day air would mean that monday is day 1, tuesday is day 2 with delivery on day 2 (tuesday).

I know patience is virtue and what not lol, but still kinda weird that my phone will get here on the same time regardless of shipping method.

Or will my phone really get here on tuesday?

Congratulations! Would appreciate it if you could post your battery stats after a couple of days of use.

If I were you I would complain to Google. The worst that could happen is they can't change anything. Who knows, you might get a few bucks back.

similar situation with me.

But I'm not sure its worth the hassle to try to get the $4.

If I were to, I'd definitely wait until I have the phone in hand before doing so.

Who knows, he might be able to squeeze out a $10 or $25 Google Play credit. That would definitely be worth it.

Where's everyone Nexus 5 at?

The latest update I have on mine is that it left Earth City Missouri Saturday afternoon at 3:54 PM.

UPS charges extra for two day shipping, regardless if its being shipped across the country or across the street. You are paying for a level of service and guarantee of delivery by a certain day.

If you choose ground and they can get it to you in two days or even one day they will..they usually don't refrain from delivering packages just because you shipped it ground vs something else.

Sometimes ground can be even quicker than two day. I've noticed this happens when shipping items locally.

camera is pretty nice.
