For those of you who already have your Nexus 5's in hand, how is the sound quality/ voume levels of the extrenal speaker?

Obviously nothing will match the HTC One, but I find the S4 to have a batter external speaker than the iPhone 5s. Can anyone compare these?

Thanks!
I think the general consensus is that the N5 speaker is adequate but no where near as goos as the 5S, which in your opinion is not as good as the S4, so presumably it's worse than that phone's as well.

Ah very good. Adapter warning heeded. I'll forgo that route and see what AT&T can do. Thanks :D

Future tip though. Only ATT corporate stores give out sim cards like candy. The booths in malls or what not actually charge you for sim cards. Outrageous, i know.

I just got mine today. I don't think the speaker is low, it just isn't deafeningly loud like the iPhone is when turned all of the way up. If someone keeps the Nexus 5 in a purse, it could be a problem, though.

Point blank, speaker is worse than the S4/iPhone 5s/iPhone 5.

The reality is, it's probably the weakest speaker on the market outside of the Nexus 4.

Download notification toggle in the play store much better then stock.

Only thing I don't like is that it takes up a notification spot on the upper left...even when you make it transparent it still takes up a spot.

I really don't need the notification toggle, as it is redundant to the quick settings....only thing I want is auto rotate.

Okay, so im extremely puzzled regarding this.

When i say "ok google. wake me up at 10 o clock" and after I input the title (which is stupid btw because it defeats the purpose of voice typing) and then press remind. It says "saving reminder" but what app does it actually go to. I did it so I can test it out and now want to delete those test reminders. Unfortunately I have no clue where those reminders saved to. Its not in my clock app or google keep app.

That's semi-disappointing to me. My friends and I use an App (Voxer) to chat throughout the day and I really have a hard time hearing on my 5s. Never had an issue on the S4. Oh well, still looks to be a very good phone!

So there's not way of adding more blocks to the settings tab when you swipe down the notification screen? Obviously unless you install a different ROM.

My main concern is, how can I turn off and on auto rotate quickly?

The power control widget is obviously wasn't updated considering it still has blue accents...

Try Power Toggles.

An honest review from Engadget. Congrats. Don't read the verge honestly. They are definitely being paid by Apple. Actually financed by Apple maybe.

Speakers aren't as good as my HTC One (which is to be expected), but they're more than adequate IMO. Speakerphone is nice and clear and music sounds great with headphones.

Good question!! I can't find it either when I do the same.

Edit: oddly, the app info on the reminder is "Google Search"... wow, that's intuitive.

Edit 2: Ahh... go to the Google Now screen - you'll see them there. You might need to click the little icon of the string tied around a finger, near the bottom.

The two reviews basically say the same thing. Very positive overall, negative about the camera. Engadget for the most part agreed with them, even some similar comments like the camera being really inconsistent and very high shutter lag.

Yeah XDA just let me know. Thats clever, not gonna lie.

With that being said, I miss my 5S and im fighting the urge to not reactivate it.

My Nexus 5 just arrived via UPS. Required a 125mg update. Oh this is one beautiful phone. The soft touch rubber feels so premium. Solid grip in hand. The screen is gorgeous. Super fast. Still setting up but wow what a nice phone.

This is promising, from Engadget:

In addition to HDR+, the camera's other sweet spot is low-light performance, and the inclusion of optical image stabilization (OIS) helps a great deal. It wasn't able to capture quite as much light as powerhouses like the HTC One (especially in places that were almost pitch black), but the Nexus actually outperformed it in some aspects, such as overall detail and the ability to focus on closer objects. It was also a huge improvement over the Nexus 4 and the Samsung Galaxy S 4 in nearly every way, and we were especially intrigued by the relatively minimal amount of noise we got in most of our shots. As a sidenote, the ISO remained at around 250-300 for most night images, though we occasionally saw it bump up to 1620 for extremely dark pictures.

Just received the 5 today and love it..
Can anyone tell me what apps I should disable in app manager so I can get the best performance

You are rocking STOCK android without bloat. DON'T disable anything. If your not getting the best performance as is - then it would be time to give up using an android device.

[/COLOR]Isn't the one screen buttons supposed to be a transparent background

Only on the home screen I believe.

For some reason nexus phones don't score high in benchmark apps. Nexus 4 quadrant score was also way lower than optimus G

Yeah that's a strange curiosity. Not that I am bothered about benchmarks really but found it strange that there was such a big disparity. Of course 4.4 could have also played a part too.

For some reason. Nexus 4 processor was throttled due to heating issues.

Maybe this is the same with the nexus 5?

Possible but it does make you wonder if that were the case why not just use a different less hot chipset (like motoX dual core) rather than throttle a very fast one.

I'm sure an explanation will come out but as long as the Nexus 5 is fast and snappy and it appears to be - I don't think too many folks will be complaining.
