As much as I love the Nexus 5, I think that the screen is too big. I prefer smaller phones, but I was ready to give up and go for the Nexus. Now I'm having second thoughts. I come from an iPhone 5. This is a big phone to me.

I actually went back to my 5S unfortunately. The size was a bit too big for me. Autofocus is also extremely slow for some odd reason.

I'm torn on this. I just think it's too big. Wish they were sold somewhere in stores in the UK so I could try one. Which phone is closest to it size wise? G4?

I wish Moto X was available in the UK. So so annoying that it isn't. Great battery life, good size, nice looking phone.

They sell it in Carphonewarehouse

It's a great size, mate.

Coming from an iPhone 5 to this felt a little unnatural at the start, but I've had it 2 days and already love the size. Similar to the Samsung S4, pretty much. It is very light and the screen/bezels are fantastic.

The issues I'm having are the camera and speaker. That's what it making my uncertain for now.

The speaker will be my reason for returning. Was laying in bed watching a Youtube video earlier. There are building works being carried out nearby. Not particularly loud. Had to swap it for my Note 2 as I literally could not hear what the guy in the video was talking about. Perfectly audible on the Note 2, I could even afford to turn it down a notch or two.

I bought it straight from the Play Store, not sure I can return it to them so will probably sell it on eBay.

I'd actually consider a straight swap though so might see if anyone on the Marketplace wants to do it.

I'm LOVING the Nexus 5, it's just a couple of little things which I use all the time, hence are big things to me.

You can return it.You have 15 days.

I bought this one but will be sending it back.

The back is too flat yet the back of the phone is slightly curved. Doesn't feel nearly as good in the hand, and its just too bulky for one handed use.

I have this one as well, and I agree with what you said. I would still recommend it, though.

How long does it take to charge? iPhone 5 charges fast....how is the N5? Kind of interested in buying this phone.

Charging mines for the first time today...so far, it hasn't been as quick as my old iPhone 5. I'm using the wall charger...35 mins ago, I was at 52%, now I'm at 71%.

Sounds on par to the iPhone 5 on iOS 7. The charge times under iOS 7 got slower. iOS 6 charged up in like an hour.

Mine is in now, and there is something I haven't been able to figure out yet. How do you get the email app icon to display the number of new messages there are? I have 3, but the icon has no number on it like the email app on my old Samsung and iPhone did. Email notifications are already on.

You can't with the default e-mail app. You would have to download a tweak from the Play Store, or switch to a third party app. I still don't understand why Android won't fix their horrible default e-mail app.

They are sold in shops in the UK, Carphone Warehouse have the 16GB model and were selling it cheaper then Google themselves and O2 are selling the 32GB model. My local CPW has a working display model.

Any recommendations on one? There's a LOT out there on the Play Store and I'm trying to avoid things that will slow the system down or worse.

Sitting my Nexus 5 right next to my Note 3, browsing same pages and playing same YouTube HD videos....

Man does the Nex5 screen ever look murky by comparison.

Much better form factor and fit/finish than the Note 3's crappy chromed plastic bumper and plasticky back, however. You aren't ashamed to pull the Nex5 out in public.

But that screen.....such a throwback to 2012. Yuck.

Anyone using their phone naked?

Was going to rock the phone naked for the foreseeable future, but I played with my friend's Spigen Neo Hybrid earlier this morning. Decided to order one for myself as it doesn't add much bulk/weight and still feels good in the hand.

UPS appears to have lost my package.... urghhhhhhhhhhh :( :(

My local UPS peeps don't deliver until 7pm which, to me as a tech whore, is unacceptable since I want it now now now! :D If your local UPS facility (usually a "Customer Center") is convenient/easy to get to, consider signing up for My UPS and putting your deliveries on will call (aka hold for pickup).

That's exactly what I did (hold for pickup), but when I went to pick it up the people said the package never arrived. The system just thinks it arrived because they scanned it leaving the prior location...

How the package disappeared, I'll never know...

Had my Nexus 5 for 48 hours now, and coming from an iPhone 5 there are things I love already, but a few issues for sure.

1) The speaker is sometimes incredibly loud, other times you can barely hear it.
2) The camera is extremely slow compared to my iPhone 5.
3) Hangouts is a bit backward.

Otherwise, I'm really liking Android and the larger screen, so let's see how the next few days go. I may just sell/return the Nexus 5 and get a different Android phone.

Keep in mind a different Android will not be the Same as the Nexus 5 Stock Android and that is a huge difference , unless you decide to go Google Play edition .............. Camera is a bit slow and I think I read somewhere that it will be addressed in a future update maybe, still it takes a few seconds, the speaker I agree with you , but that's fine with me I use headphones most of the time

Yeah that's the quandary I'm facing. I absolutely LOVE the Kit Kat Nexus 5 experience - apart from the slightly weird Hangouts, I think they have NAILED it. In fact, I'd find it hard going back to iOS 7 if I had to. That's the first time I can hand on heart say that.

But maybe something like a Google Play Samsung S4 would actually be great - but only at the right price.

Yeah I reckon the camera might be ok with a software update.

The speaker is even a problem with ringtones and stuff - music wise, it's loud but then distorts at high volume. I'm actually about to call Google and talk to them about it.

In order to change APN settings, go here:

Settings > Wireless & Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names

Depending on your carrier, you will enter the settings.

tmobile - http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-2090
at&t -

Name: ATT PTA
APN: pta
MMSC: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
MMS Proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
MMS port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
Auth: none
APN type: default,mms,supl,hipri

I didn't have to change any apn settings. There is an LTE option, and with that I get 28 down.
