My Spigen Slim Armor case finally arrived. Initial impression after putting it on is it feels amazing. The Nexus 5 is thin and light and this case gives it just enough weight and size to make it feel great in the hand.

It's a two piece case. The inner piece is a TPU material that is flexible but firm. It's a little thicker around the edges and looks like it would provide great protection against drops. The second piece is a hard polycarbonate shell that that has a nice matte finish to it, similar to the phone itself. Nice lip around the front of the screen to lay face down and the back has plenty of protection around the camera lens. Buttons are covered and have a nice solid click when pressed.

Also works perfectly with the the Nokia wireless charging plate that I picked up the other day. The case has enough gripiness to it that it clings to the charger so no worrying about it falling or sliding off.

Don't have any pictures at the moment but borrowing a couple photos from another member over at XDA. The case I picked up is all black.

The Slim Armor is my favorite line of cases....really really great stuff. I go back and forth between a slim armor on my iPhone 5s and having it naked. Also had the slim armor for my GS4. Looks like I'll be picking up slim armor for my Nexus 5 when it arrives!

Couldn't you buy without a contract on bestbuy.com for instore pickup and bypass the mobile salespeople?

Great idea, didn't even think of that.

I just tried and was able to put it in my cart and select the 'replace phone' option, price changed from $149 to $449. I was then able to select a local store with stock for store pickup and proceed to checkout. Didn't go any further as I'm not interested in actually buying it but no reason I couldn't make payment and checkout.

I went to best buy today and asked this exact question. This was after they told me they don't sell unlocked phones. The store associate said if you order online for in store pick up it would be shipped to the best buy and be there in 3-5 days. She did mention that some stores sell unlocked phones but only one in my area. Very weird.

The reviews on amazon were saying it is too tight on the home button. Have you found this problem?

I read those reviews and happy to say mine doesn't have the power button issue. Tried to hold and squeeze the sides of the case all sorts of different ways and it doesn't cause the power button to react.

It looks like Spigen is sending out replacement cases though for people who have the power button problem. If you do order on amazon, make sure to buy only from amazon if possible, it takes Spigen FOREVER to ship out their items.

Forgot to mention, my phone has a wobbly power button and this case took care of the issue. Feels nice and solid now.

I have the option to buy a galaxy S4 brand new for the same price as a N5. Would I be better to go with the s4 or N5?

I've had both and I actually prefer the S4 over the N5. Is just get feels more polished to me than the N5 does. I think I actually like touchwiz to a point.

I would go with the S4, even though Touchwiz is a bit laggy. You get expandable memory, removable battery, all the Touchwiz extras and an IR blaster.

Well, I have not had experience with the s4 I did use a Note II for a little under a year. In the beginning I had no problem with touchwiz. However I grew to hate it. The ugly color scheme and numerous "tweaks" drove me crazy. Maybe you will use the "gimmicky" features more than I. I used them for about a week. I eventually rooted and flashed a stock rom. I love the N5. Beside the lovely camera I have seen on the s4 it does not do anything for me :D

SIDE NOTE: I will never understand why touchwiz covers everything in a nature theme. I cannot make the connection between smartphone and ugly nature themes.

Went into BBY and asked if I could buy one off contract.....they wouldn't sell it to me unless they activated it in store....so no dice since I don't have Sprint service.

My N5 is set to leave the warehouse by 11/26/13 - I can do until then. Means I should have mine at or just after Thanksgiving, which will be a nice little gift!

Mine shipped today. Had the same 11/26 ship by date.

my n5 came with a very weak vibration motor. pity, considering everything else about the phone is great (though i haven't really tested the camera yet). called in today for an exchange, and it's on its way. overall i'm a happy customer.

Nexus 5

o_O really!?

Just checked mine, and no such luck but now I have some hope it might be earlier than 11/26!

Good luck! Now whether or not to pick up an iPad mini retina. Apple caught me off guard releasing it early today. I don't want to buy both at the same time.

I've been refreshing like crazy to find one to pick up in store....so far it looks as though Texas has been left out completely.....

Then pick up the Mini next week and it won't be considered at the same time :p I picked up an iPad Air and Nexus 5 and so far enjoying both.

I am really starting to like this phone more, and more. I have had it for a week now, and man I really like it. Sure the speaker is not that great, and battery life is nothing special. Truly though I don't remember the last smartphone I was impressed by its battery life. I had the HTC one before this, and yes those speakers were amazing, but other than it, nothing has been that great. My smartphone experience has let me down in the speaker as well. So again beyond those to things (which it shares with most other smart phones) it is a great phone.

the only phone with great bat life is the note 3. the rest are just ok...

i think the camera is great - just not great all the time.

Ugh! It's going to be one now and one at Christmas time or right after....decisions...
