Absolutely! Backberry all the way!

The iPhone or Android phones don't do Exchange as well as Blackberry.

If you just would like to use an exchange email address on your phone, iPhone or Android will do just fine.

Yeah, but what happens if I ALSO want to browse the web, listen to music, or have some decent apps. The Blackberry gets eliminated right there.

Yea, well you said primary concern. In my opinion, if you just want to get Exchange support it doesn't really matter which platform you go with if Blackberry is out.

I only use exchange for Google Sync, so it doesn't even matter to me. :p

sigh, I never said "if I just want". Blackberry is also not an option for me because my company no longer wants to roll out any costly BES infrastructure into our environment.

Again, Exchange can be a primary concern but that doesn't mean I don't still want to browse the web. I stand by what I say, heavy exchange users will probably be very disappointed with the N1.

Ok. I trust you. :)

did you get a nexus or just switch to android? I'm also thinking of switching back. Perhaps this time I'll get lucky and get a solid phone without a touchscreen issue.

I just traded my 3GS for the Nexus with my girlfriend. It's the same one I was using before.

Imo the iPhone interface is very boring compared to the newest Android devices, maybe it's cause iv'e had the same interface for soon 3 years (longest period ever). So I've already decided on the HTC4G until next summer when they probably release a new iPhone. Maybe due to the iPhone success Apple has got the "windows decease". Where they say If it ain't broken, don't fix it. Even if the iPhone only got multi-tasking to the new version if would sell like butter, just like Windows computers sell like butter even if they get worse (xp>vista (though Apple's case is far from Microsofts)). Anyway I will be returning next summer unless the 4G let's me down faster than that.

Yup, my biggest gripe with static/ossified interface. Android can be a joy to use because you can have dynamic wallpapers, widgets, status bar, giving you real-time content and avoiding the pitfall of checking updates/apps a one-by-one linear chore. The iPhone feels like a tool when you go to unlock or launch an app. Android feels like a toy in that sense, and I mean that in a good way.

so i hate to complicate this thread, buuuuuut, there is chatter in the blogosphere about the HTC incredible being released on april 29th. This device will have comprable/better specs than the nexus one plus there is hope that the touchscreen issue will be addresed by Verizon's QA people. Specifically they are talking about using a clearpad 3000 vs. a clearpad 2000 on the nexus, which presumably doesen't have the multitouch issues of the N1. The downside would be that the phone uses sense UI and presumably won't get android updates as quick as the nexus one.

I'm keeping an eye on HTC supersonic and have would like yo know if Android supports cut and paste in email and web browse application yet?

I have yet to experience the touchscreen issues on my Nexus One. My girlfriend said she liked it better than the iPhone's screen and I agree with her all the way.

Take from it what you will.

Well said. I own a 3GS and an N1. I am keeping both. The keyboard on the N1 needs improvement. The multitasking though makes the trade off worth it for me. For instance, I bought an app on Android called Mobile Package Tracker. With multitasking it will periodically check the status of the packages and sent me notifications. I also own Delivery Status Touch on the iphone. I believe it is the top rated package tracking app in the app store. It doesn't hold a candle to the Android app. The Android app also includes a bar code scanner, saving entry of those long tracking numbers for packages that you are shipping.

My point is simply that there are good apps on each platform. Overall, the iphone has the edge at the moment on apps, but Android is catching up.

This competition is great. We the consumer win.

Why not, because we're current/former iPhone users and in all likelihood mac users as well.

I have a number of macs in my house, my wife as a iPhone 3G and I have a 3Gs.

While one of my earlier posts said to count me in as another iPhone user who's returning his N1 to google. I'm putting that on hold and I'm rethinking returning my phone.

As other stated, if you discount the keyboard, the N1 beats the iPhone on many fronts. Where it doesn't is apple's attention to details. Cut/Paste is the best example but there are others.

I love the iphone's approach, and yes it just does work, but I'm finding it a little too limiting.

Flash is coming shortly to android, I don't need to JB my phone to access features already built in. If I'm unhappy with my version of android, I can install a rom with those features. One word about jailbreaking, it seems fraught with headaches because when apple finally does provide a small update, like 3.1.3 it breaks the JBing. This cat and mouse game apple is playing is not evident with google. Root the phone and do what you want with it. Heck, I've read a thread on a forum that someone fairly easily installed debian on the SDcard of his android phone - how's that for getting your geek-on :)

Is it greedy to want both the iPhone and the Nexus One?

Guys, I think I may have a tech addiction......:D

I'd say it's better to have both, actually. Take some time to decide which one works better for you. If you can get it done in 30 days without caving to the urge to root, you can return the Nexus to HTC.

I think the 30 day return period applies to California residents.Elsewhere in the U.S. it is 15days.

I can't wait to post in the evo 4g switchers thread. I'M also pretty excited the market for used 3gs's will be booming. Nice time to switch! Unles of course the :apple: sucks me back in..... Will see what happans when the new hardware comes out. When did they announce the 3gs? June right?

HTC's implimentation (sense ui) of cut and paste is very good and way better than stock android. Google should take note!

I use it on my HTC desire (bravo) and its as good as any implimentation I've seen.

So this htc sense ui cut and paste works for all applications?

I've tried Samsung's Galaxy and really hated the cut and paste there. It had two completely different implementation depends on where you are and also it's not available every where. No such problem with HTC's Android phones?

So you mean there are now three different cut and paste implementations?

What about cut and paste in browser ? I read that it can't be done but not sure if that's true.

The same method of cut/copy and paste should be used throughout the phone as it is a feature of Sense UI. The guy copies and pastes text from the browser on the video linked above.

You can't "cut" text from any webpages as far as I know (unless it is an editable field) as you cannot remove the original text from the page. (does that make sense?) :p

Thanks for the info. I couldn't play the flash video in the link unfortunately as I'm reading this on my iPhone.

Good to see HTC making this improvement to Android. Looks like a way better Android than Galaxy.

No problems! I added the pics as I assumed you were viewing this on the iPhone.

Hopefully Google will have a better solution for copy/paste on our stock nexus ones with the next version of Android. :)

How's the sense UIs email client.
One issue I'm having with the nexus one's email client (non-gmail app) is that if I forward an html email, it strips the html formatting and sends it as text - not jut text but the html tags.
