I'm one of those? Do you mean by that a person with a different opinion than yours? I guess you missed the part where I clearly stated "in my opinion".

You mean kind of how you seemed to have missed those same words in my first post that you quoted, along with the several "...for me..."'s that I said? I stated that the N1 works better than the N1 FOR ME, and for many posters in this thread. And I even stated that the iPhone is going to work better for others. I haven't said either is the best for everyone, and that the other is just a waste of time. I own both, and both have areas they are stronger than the other in. People need to decide for themselves how much value they place on the strong areas of each platform. I'm not stating that "the N1 is the best phone ever. Im surprised that many people like the iPhone" like you did with your initial comment about the N1.

Sorry you didn't like my tone.

I find it a little odd that a Android user is spending their nights in an iPhone forum.

You mean odd as in an iPhone fan being in a thread dedicated to people who've chosen the Nexus One and are discussing it, not the iPhone?

I am a iPhone and Nexus 1 owner. Nice try though. Aren't there any Android forums on the internet?

There are several, yep. But there are quite a few posters in this thread whose opinions and comments on N1 related apps and tweaks and such that I enjoy reading, And some of those I need to catch up on, so I'll just stay here. But thanks for the concern.

Why not, because we're current/former iPhone users and in all likelihood mac users as well.

I have a number of macs in my house, my wife as a iPhone 3G and I have a 3Gs.

While one of my earlier posts said to count me in as another iPhone user who's returning his N1 to google. I'm putting that on hold and I'm rethinking returning my phone.

As other stated, if you discount the keyboard, the N1 beats the iPhone on many fronts. Where it doesn't is apple's attention to details. Cut/Paste is the best example but there are others.

I love the iphone's approach, and yes it just does work, but I'm finding it a little too limiting.

Flash is coming shortly to android, I don't need to JB my phone to access features already built in. If I'm unhappy with my version of android, I can install a rom with those features. One word about jailbreaking, it seems fraught with headaches because when apple finally does provide a small update, like 3.1.3 it breaks the JBing. This cat and mouse game apple is playing is not evident with google. Root the phone and do what you want with it. Heck, I've read a thread on a forum that someone fairly easily installed debian on the SDcard of his android phone - how's that for getting your geek-on :)

Another awesome feature I found in the settings of the browser. User Agent allows you select different set up configs such as Android, iPhone, Desktop and IE6. I selected desktop and now I am no longer directed to the mobile websites when browsing:)

WOW I just came upon this most amazing app, its called Flyscreen. It lets you add Widgets and other information to your lockscreen! You can scroll right through them and interact too, so awesome!:D:D:D

I have a nexus one. Will be selling the 3GS soon. Contemplating putting a desire ROM on it, but I'll likely hold until they're at least being considered beta ROMs.

I'm in the same boat (except I'll be selling my 3G... sooner than later now that 4.0 won't be able to support multitasking). Although, it appears that some of the latest alpha builds of the Desire ROM are pretty stable.

Hey, obviously its your choice, but as an owner of both, I suggest you use the nexus one for a few weeks before getting rid of the iPhone. That's about how long it took me to get completed frustrated with my nexus one.

I've already been using it for a few weeks and have had a droid before. Honestly, I liked the droid more and between the nexus one and 3gs, I like them equally. Wife got me the nexus as a surprise, and I'm looking forward to putting a custom ROM on it at some point. Plus, the sale value of the 3GS is going to be good right now as opposed to in a few months.

Of course, when the next iPhone is announced, I'll know whether we are going with that or switching to the Evo 4G.

/fiscally fickle and irresponsible

Its not that I think the N1 is bad, its just a completely different experience than the iPhone.

Well you can officially welcome me back!

4.0 has some nice features but overall I'm pretty disappointed. I hinted to my girlfriend that I was interested in using Android again and she was pretty reluctant so I said I'd just buy another and she practically threw the thing at me.

Having to transfer everything back over was kind of a pain but only took about an hour. It's nice to be back!

did you get a nexus or just switch to android? I'm also thinking of switching back. Perhaps this time I'll get lucky and get a solid phone without a touchscreen issue.

My N1 has no issues with the touchscreen.

Right now, my only real disappointment is with email. The default email app doesn't support exchange/active sync and when I forward html emails, I lose the formatting and the recepient gets html text.

I'm using touchdown for my exchange email which is "ok" but I do like the iPhone's email app much better.

The Exchange issue is definitely something they have to work on, but I have no need for it. I'll take the instantaneous unobtrusive notification of the nexus over the exchangeless iphone. but again, that's just me.

That's a really weak statement. The fact is people here are effectively debating between the iphone and nexus. To state that they cannot be any discussion by people who recently sold their iphones to get a nexus one is just a really weak position. Why not let people voice their oppinion? Nobody is forcing anyone to read this thread. For what it's worth, there are a small minority who do the same thing on the google android forums, claiming that someone cannot discuss the nexus one if they returned it for an iphone. In my oppinion, it's a bad attitude in both forums that prevents informed decision making by all parties involved.

That's where I'm at.

I am so stuck in the middle of indecision. There are things I like on the iPhone and things I like on the N1. I've been leaning towards the N1 lately, though the keyboard and the aforementioned email issues hold me back.

I like this thread because its giving me insight, and topics to consider. I think its a valuable resource for both the iPhone owner and prospective Nexus One owner.

Well, if you use Exchange, there really should be no discussion. Especially once you see the new email enhancements in 4.0. If you value widgets more though, the N1 will do you fine.

That's not a fair assessment since I have exchange ability via the touchdown application.

Still, its subpar to apple's email app.

As for widgets, I'm not really using them at all.

How is it not fair? You just claimed yourself the experience is "sub par" The N1 does a lot of stuff well, but exchange is not one of them.

You implied that since I need exchange access then the iPhone is a no brainer.

I have exchange access thanks to touchdown. While the client provides the connectivity, it lacks the polish and ease of use as apple's mail app.

I think if one of your major needs is exchange access, then it is a no brainer.

Absolutely! Backberry all the way!

The iPhone or Android phones don't do Exchange as well as Blackberry.

If you just would like to use an exchange email address on your phone, iPhone or Android will do just fine.
