That's the thing that rubs me the wrong way with the iPhone. We're getting just one update a year - not counting the small (read no enhancements) bug fixes that might come our way.Honestly, 4.0 seems like it should have been a 3.2 update.

At least with android we're seeing steady improvement and while the argument (rightfully so) can be made that android is a less mature product. There's more of an impetus to improve the OS on a regular basis that's shorter then 12 months.
Well you can officially welcome me back!
4.0 has some nice features but overall I'm pretty disappointed. I hinted to my girlfriend that I was interested in using Android again and she was pretty reluctant so I said I'd just buy another and she practically threw the thing at me.
Having to transfer everything back over was kind of a pain but only took about an hour. It's nice to be back!
To the people that complain that they were disappointed, or don't like the little amount of updates, can I ask you something? And I'm not being a jerk in any way, I genuinely want to know:
Why not just jailbreak? I mean it's easy as hell to do, easy to reverse, it gives you customization up the wazoo, and more.

I didn't think you could jb the newest 3gs phones...

'Bout time you wised up! Ha ha, just kidding with you, but I did think that you would like the N1 if you gave it enough time. Glad to have you back. I'm in the same boat as a lot of people on here...I just wasn't blown away by the 4.0 feature list. I still don't think it brings it up to the potential of the Android platform. All I see that Apple has going for it right now is the App Store and it's contents. Maybe the actual hardware for the upcoming iPhone will be more exciting, but as of right now I see me staying with the N1.
OK....just clicked the 'confirm order' button. Hope I get one without any issues.![]()

man....I've got the order page up. I keep hesitating....the thought of dropping $600 on a phone is a little unsettling. But I'm so sick of my 3G, and I'm not blown away by the 4.0 update.
Last year, the 3.0 Preview didn't show Video Recording, Compass, Voice Control and a few other nice features. My guess is, as they did last year, there are still some bigger features that are left out and will be introduced along with the iPhone itself this summer.
Plus $600 bucks for a Phone (for me) is just a lot
I'm surprised by how many people here actually like the Nexus 1. For work purposes, I carry both an iPhone and Nexus. Its really no comparison, I almost always find myself reaching for the iPhone over the Nexus. Widgets were kind of neat for the first week, after that I kind of lost interest. I guess I'm just not that big into having a huge clock, scrolling news, or weather on my screen at all times.
The iPhone app store and apps is where the main difference lies. Android fans will try to convince you that their apps are catching up. Definitely not the case.
Dont even start me on the Nexus onscreen keyboard.
Get an N1 unit with a good keyboard and you'll see that the difference is very, very small compared to the iPhone. In fact, with Smart Keyboard Pro installed, I'm as fast or faster at typing than with any of my iPhones or iPod Touches. As far as apps, there's not any that I use on my iPhone that there isn't an equally capable Android version of so far, other than games. And honestly, other than the hour or so after I've downloaded them, I don't play iPhone games as they are never difficult, don't have replay value after you've completed them, and absolutely drain battery life. As far as which phone I prefer reaching for, I always reach for my N1 as, in my opinion, the browsing experience is much better for me. Again, I have one of the units with an accurate touchscreen, so that makes all the world on this phone. Browsing is much better for me on it with the much higher resolution. Multitouch, pinch to zoom work just as good on mine as they do on my iPhones. And to top it off, the 3G radio in my N1 outperforms my 3GS in upload and download speeds on the same AT&T network, so it's even faster for me to browse with the N1 than the 3GS. Different people are going to have different likes and needs in phones, just like they do with any other product. For a lot of people, the N1 is going to be a much better option than an iPhone. For others, the reverse will be true. No one needs to bash another person's choice in phones. There's plenty of platforms out there for everyone.
So to sum up....
1. Games drain battery and have no replay value
2. The apps you like are available for Android so it doesn't matter that the apps I want aren't
Not bashing anybody, but in my opinion, if you get past the pretty screen, there is really nothing I miss when using my iPhone that the N1 has. On the other hand, there are many things I miss from the iPhone when using my N1.
Both platforms seem like they are here to stay.
Oh great....you're one of those. No, what I was doing is showing a different side of looking at the N1. What's good for you might not be good for others, and vice versa. For you, there are things you miss about your iPhone. For me, and others here, the advantages of the Android platform outweigh those of the iPhone platform. For others, Blackberry outweighs those two. It's just a simple matter of an individual choosing what's best for them. Your choice is the iPhone. A lot of people in this thread choose Android (after all, the thread is about people that have switched to the Nexus One). It's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things. Both platforms seem like they are here to stay.
