Nexus Prime Specs are out!

Lol. Never said the iphone 4S had a superior display, just smaller. Most were claiming that the nexus prime was more HD, which it is not.

I said supposedly what the specs were, might be better or might be worse, and even claimed that specs don't matter software does, more than five times already.

I am pointing out that a phone which has specs supposedly inferior to the iphone 4S is what people are claiming what the iphone should have been. Lol.

About the camera, try reading the thread.

It appears you can't read. You are putting words in my mouth. Taking words out of context.

Yes it is confirmed you are special. Read the thread from the beginning. You are like someone watching a movie in the middle.

I am not going to type my points all over again because you take the slow bus to school.

You are making yourself look like the fool you are. If you read the thread and all of my comments from the beginning you will see how much so.

You have been owned by yourself.

self owning. Nice job. ;)

I'm sure I didn't bring up the 320 vs 329 PPI point :)
You seem to have trouble keeping up with what you said - specs don't matter, but you were comparing how inferior it is to the 4S. When others point out why it isn't inferior, and possibly more superior to the 4S, you chose to ignore. Come on now what is your real opinion here?
And not only can you not keep with up your own logic, you start name calling now? Do you have nothing better to say?
Being a fool or not, or owning myself or not, are irrevelent. I post to participate in a logical discussion, not to win a thread. Maybe that's your sole intention here? To win? In that case you're not worth my time anymore.
I know I'm spending my hard earned money on something that's good, not on something because "it's Apple".
Again I have lost myself a little bit. I apologize if I sounded rude. It was not my intention to insult anyone.

Why argue when this is a personal opinion?

I'd prefer the 4S since I would be able to take advantage of iCloud, have already purchased many iOS apps, and would like a carrier other than Verizon. I also generally prefer iOS over Android. I have no idea what Ice Cream Sandwich will be like, but I don't use any Google services other than Gmail so I doubt that I would get much of a use out of it.

There's no arguing that the Nexus Prime has better specs, but in the end it's down to your own needs and wants.

Yes, but people ARE arguing that. And thus the long thread. :)

What's so good? The processor clock is only 200Mhz faster, and iOS utilises resources way better anyway.

When has an iPhone ever ran at the speed the processor was clocked at? Also Android phones always get overclocked. The big grip about Android is that it's laggy well my Atrix is smoother than my iPhone 4. Yes the Atrix has better specs and it should perform better but if you ask an iPhone fan they'll tell you a 3G runs better than an Android phone.

It's always funny when new Android phones come out. They are always "iPhone killers" and yet, somehow, the iPhone always outsells them all. Why do you people continue to bicker about what's better? It's ridiculous. Nobody is going to convince the other.

I think we all need to realize that both Android and iOS devices have their good and bad points. Everything is personal preference, though. If you don't like something, don't buy it. No need in filling up 1000 pages of a forum with arguments about how something is better than something else, especially when nobody is going to change anybody elses mind.

The one thing I think we should all agree on is the fact that if it weren't for the iPhone, none of these Android devices would exist. The iPhone revolutionized everything, and so no matter how good Android phones get, they'll always function and look similar to what Apple created.

Everything else is opinion.

iphone is definitely sexier, though

Very true. And that we have Steve Jobs (and company) to thank.
There has never been a bad iPhone, not even the 4S (I dont think). What's great about it is that we have more and more capable alternatives, and I'm certainly willing to try something new, because it looks really impressive.
People should be more open minded to changes, it's not always bad.

Stop comparing specs. Both phones are fast and hold a lot of data.

I will be getting the iPhone because I prefer iOS to Android ANY day. I also like the smaller form factor of the iPhone 4S. I don't want a large screen because there are trade-offs that I'm not willing to deal with.

Yea, you pretty much hit the nail on the head.

I have a 3GS...great user experience, great phone, does its job, but a little "old" in terms of technology. Never in my right mind would I even compare it to an SGS2 or the Nexus Prime.

But if you look at it from the perspective of some of the fanboys around here, the only phones that are better than mine are the iP4S and iP4. Good ol' user experience argument...

Yes, you're right. Let's call everything other then PHYSICAL non-processor feature set a draw.

So then, if you want a 4"+ screen, 4G LTE, NFC, a microSim card slot, and a replaceable battery get a Nexus Prime. If you don't want ANY of those things, get an iPhone 4S. :)

I'm fine with that characterization as long as you throw OS choice into that list. I want a small, compact powerhouse with a great screen, and the iPhone fits that bill. If you're tied into google services and care less about the size of the device or battery life, get the prime. I've owned phones with both OS's, so I know what I want based off of experience. It's iOS for me.

You can spot a fanboy when they don't even use the biggest arguments for iOS over Android:

1. music organization/integration (despite alternatives, no itunes syncing)
2. Not as good out-of-the-box (despite being great once rooted/ROM'd)
3. Not as easy to use

It's a little hard not to laugh when we are talking about UI, and they use sales to bolster their argument--it's hilarious when they use return rates to undermine Android. lol.

Also, it's a little difficult to bash Android as a whole as every manufacturer puts their own software on top of their products. For example, HTC's UI is going to be very different from Samsung and Motorola.

I for one hate Motorola and BLUR to death (I've owned a Dx and DX2).

Currently on a Samsung Charge, which is superior in so many ways to motorola. Just simple things like the alarm clock make such a big difference.

HTC's new sense UI looks AMAZING, and if it is smooth in the real world, I think iOS is going to look pretty silly next to it.

The thing is Android is catching up fast, both the OS and the apps. Just 3 months ago the Facebook app was absolute garbage, and now it is pretty close to the iphone app. Same can be said for the OS.

At apple's current pace, it's not a matter of "if" but "when" Android will surpass Apple in terms of UI and app design. Apple is currently playing catchup with respect to the notification pulldown bar and voice command integration.

Personally, I find myself wanting to go back to iOS just for the fact that I get the occassional bug/reboot in Android (although I should note I am heavily modified/customized with root, ROM, kernel, etc.) and I miss the little niceties in iOS. It also looks like they better integrated Reminders/tasks into iOS5, and I really need that given my schedule.

I'll never believe an LSU fan! You swept les miles out from under our feet when you gave him that absurdly good contract to get him to re-sign!

Hahah. I kid I kid

What's with everyone acting like 8MP is automatically better than 5MP? If the Nexus sensor is as good or better than the 4S then there's no problem. I'll take a nice 5MP photo over a crappy 8MP photo any day.

Because everyone was slamming the iPhone 4 because it had such a small sensor. Now that the new "iPhone killer" has a smaller sensor it's OK.

Has HTC made drastic changes to it's UI? I haven't seen yet, but I always had a soft spot for sense, ever since it came out on the HTC hero. It's a damn nice skin, but unfortunately never ran as well as it looked in videos (until now hopefully)

Do you even know what a sensor is, how it relates to MP, or even read what the guy you quoted was saying???

It's utter useless trying to convincE these android people anything but specs printed.

About 1 or 2 of u who claim to buy this new phone will actually do so. The rest will sit on the bench cheerleading. Typical need for an android user to do is to have to try so hard to justify the purchase of his android phone vs an iPhone.

Let the fools be fools (android fools)

you can see HTC sense 3.5 videos on youtube.

Keep in mind these are all pre-release betas likely on hardware that wasn't meant to support it. So you can only imagine what the final product will be like on the proper hardware.

This is the nexus series, i.e pure android and no bloatware

I didn't say anything about the Nexus series. And although they have been bloatware free in the past, I am not sure what will happen on Verizon. If you are talking about manufacturer skins, then maybe it will end up being vanilla. But if you are talking about Verizon bloat, who knows.

Did you read it? A sensor is the whatchamacallit dat da lite hitz to gib me purdy pitchers right?
Actually, I'm an electronics engineer and work on realtime imaging systems, so no, I know nothing about sensors.

Count me in for one

What do the top of the line android phones go for at full price? $599 or $699 i think?

you will be looking at $800-$900. unlocked ofc. Price will obviously drop as time passes but top dog unlocked phone at release will be around this price.

OMFG, WOULD YOU GUYS STOP Already? People are still grieving here.

Just buy what you are comfortable with. Both the phones are going to be awesome. I have been an apple fan boy since the first iPhone, i have had every iPhone since the first launch, now i feel i need to change so i changed to Samsung s2. It is a wonderful phone, it is unique in its own way just as iPhone is. Android os is working perfectly and doing everything i expect it to do, i am sure nexus prime and 4s will be brilliant in there own ways. .

That's surprising, and embarrassing for you.

Maybe you should edit your comment to more accurately reflect your credentials if what you say is true.

Or maybe you are just really bad at grammar...

Really, read what you said again. It makes no sense.

Again I have lost myself a little bit. I apologize if I sounded rude. It was not my intention to insult anyone.

I have yet to see a post that is not conjecture on why the "specs' are superior overall than the iPhone 4S. I posted reasons on why the 4S 'specs' are superior and why it is superior in my opinion overall.Supplied links to back up my claims. I replied to all I never once ignored anyone. Including your self.

I name call, really that is really calling the kettle black, isn't it?

I am not trying to win a thread either. But don't cry about if I dish it back when posters attack and try to 'dish it out' so to speak. Calling people asses, stupid, and what not.

Most still don't get it.

I will give you a timeline:

Yesterday, the iPhone 4S was released.

People complained about the "specs' hence my talking about the specs.

All the while ignoring the fact that the iPhone 4S has the exact same rumored specs as the rumored iPhone 5 except for the larger screen and redesigned outer shell. LTE was known not to be a part of the iPhone 5. Apple essentially gave us a iPhone 5 in a iPhone 4 body. If you take the internals of the 4S and put them in a aluminum body iPhone 5 with a bigger screen but with the exact same specs, not one person would be talking about anything of the sort. But they have the same specs!

Now today this thread pops up. All the Android fanboys and people are pissed because the 'rumored' specs of the Nexus Prime they think is better than the iPhone 4S. Destroys it, Apple is going to declare bankruptcy, Apple failed, I am going to get this phone and are all giddy about the leaked specs that were rumored.

Ignoring the fact that going by the rumored specs only, since that is what this thread was about, ignoring the fact that the iPhone 4S specs match the iPhone 5 specs internally. It has a better CPU, GPU spec wise than what was reported. Key word reported than the nexus prime.

It has a new OS, same as the nexus prime, better CPU, GPU, camera, battery life and Siri, the nexus prime has a bigger screen, LTE but worse battery life. According to the rumored specs, the two phones are comparable.

Everyone that is a Android fanboy and disgruntled iPhone users fail to grasp that fact. Maybe the nexus prime will have a 3Ghz processor quad core, 4GB ram and mow your lawn. I could care less. I hope it does have better specs. I don't really care.

I find it ironic that people are complaining and at the same time clamoring about a phone that is 'rumored' to have weaker specs than the phone they are complaining about.

Specs don't mean a thing if the OS can not take advantage of said specs. This concept flys over a lot of peoples heads.
