Nexus Prime Specs are out!

No, I won't.
I don't buy phones for the camera, so 5MP, 8MP, 12 MP, none of it matters to me.

The 4S still has a 3.5" screen. That's what killed it for me.

Put simply, I don't like Android (after owning a Nexus One) and I don't want a bigger phone. I like the 3.5 inch screen and think the bezel is the right size. Not everyone thinks having a larger screen is better, because there are tradeoffs.

Not everyone cares about a bigger screen. I don't want to carry around a 4.5 inch screen on my waist. People seem to think everyone uses their phones for pure media. They do not. I do not stream video to my iPhone, I have a laptop for that. I do use the camera and the 4S has a better camera.

I'm smart and experienced enough to know that usability is more important than specs. A phone that lasts 24 hours is more useful than a phone that lasts 7 hours. A phone that has a smooth operating system is more useful than a phone that has bugs.

Specs don't make devices successful, the PlayBook (and many other devices) are proof of that.

Finally some one gets it.

This whole fanboy crap on both sides is beyond childish.
Get what fits your needs.

And just a little hint about Android.
Don't like the native (insert_app_name_here)... you can replace it with a different one.
Unlike Apple, Android lets you replace a native app with another one if you chose to do so.
You can replace just about anything from the dialer, chat client, email client, web browser, hell, you can even replace the launcher. (the launcher is the equivalent to springboard for you iOS folks).

Hate to break it to you, but it has the exact same camera as the HTC Titan.
Apple didn't get it custom built, it's an off the shelf part.

As for graphics, the nVidia Tegra II chip still kills the A5 on the graphics acceleration side. The issue is Android failed to utilize it. ICS takes care of that.

And don't get me started with the marketing hype about "retina".
It's a made up name.
PPI is relative to viewing distance. Larger screens are typically held farther away from your face.
The Prime's display meets Apple's made up definition for being "retina".
If you can notice the lack of 9ppi at a higher resolution, you should be able to see an ant walking on a beach at 50 yards away.

show me where the Tegra 2 chip kills the A5 on graphics, benchmarks show the A5 beating the galaxy s2 phones by alot and what does it matter my iphone 4 takes better photos then my cousins evo 3d and my iphone 4 takes just as good photos as the galaxy s2 phones, which is a generation ahead

There are several fantastic ones that are completely free.
Personally I prefer the GMail app over the native email client.

I'm sure this is the point where Android lovers say if they want a camera, they will just buy a standalone camera instead.

I thought we'd gotten past simply judging a camera's quality by the number of pixels. Cramming more pixels onto a small sensor can actually decrease low light performance and increase noise. I'd rather have a lower megapixel sensor with a better lens if this phone has it.

Recap for those not reading the thread. Now this is based on the specs. Supposodly. The real nexus prime might have better specs. But software matters most. But based what the specs are supposed to be.

Better CPU and GPU will be debateable because ICS brings hardware acceleration meaning hardware and software should work better together

better camera is also debateable because as many have pointed out megapixels don't make the camera

first true HD screen for a phone...enough said

the prime DOES shoot 1080P but obviously you can't read correctly

also sports a new OS

siri...haha...that will be the most unused feature EVER

how can you comment on battery life for two phones that aren't even out yet?

Hate to break it to you. The A5 and iOS 5 support hardware acceleration, espicially the GPU.

I am a software developer, this is old news. Ios 5 with the A5 already supports hardware acceleration.

I pointed out already pixels dont' make a better camera. You know what apple did with the camera hardware wise. They did alot more than add more MP. All things being equal if the nexus price has added the same amount of hardware which to this point I doubt the iphone 4s camera will be better.

First true HD screen for a phone. No the iphone 4 brought that. Marketing hype. It has a bigger screen and even lower PPI than the iphone 4 and 4S. 329 PPI to 320 PPi. How is that more HD than the iphone 4 or 4S?

I stand corrected... the Tegra 2 killed the A4.
The A5's GPU is faster than the Tegra 2.

BGR released the specs for the nexus prime. There goes my Iphone 4 pre-order, unless it is not coming to rogers in Canada. Based on those specs, its hard to justify being stuck for another 2-3 years with an Iphone 4s.

Very nice specs! Though if it is curved like it was in the teaser vid then it looks too curved, if you get me? I'll still get an iPhone 4S (as I much prefer the eco system) and will look forward to watch some reviews and unboxings of this prime.

yeah obviously lol, but i still dont get why android cant match the fluidness and smoothness of ios? my iphone 4 runs smoother then any android phone out right now, but like you guys are saying ICS will bring hardware acceleration to the GUI so that will change
