Another Giants fan here!!

Thank you MNF!

Not sure I buy his fear of flying excuse, but thankfully he's off MNF.. It was painful watching/listening to him. A drunk Joe Namath or a bitter Joe Theisman would have been better...Gruden should be fun in the booth..

YAY!!! MNF will be tolerable again.

I'm going to go ahead and pick the Falcons to win the Super Bowl this season. I pick them every year, but I was close only once. Damn that John Elway guy. He's evil.

NFL Europe may be dead, but according to this,London is making a bid to host the Super Bowl in the future:
Report: London eyes Super Bowl
LONDON -- London has launched an audacious bid to stage the Super Bowl within the next eight years, a move that would see the United States' biggest sporting event played overseas for the first time, the Sunday Telegraph has reported.

NFL Confirms Talks to Hold Super Bowl in London
A senior NFL official confirmed that 'substantive talks' have been held with London officials about holding the Super Bowl abroad, the BBC reported Friday.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has expressed interest in the past about bringing the game to London in an effort to expand the game to a global audience.

"We've spoken on what it would take to host and for us to bring it over," the BBC quotes events vice-president Frank Supovitz, speaking in New York City a day before the NFL Draft will take place there. "The city has all the facilities needed, and in great quantity."

Visit London, the city's official visitor organization, has long pursued a deal to bring the Super Bowl to the capital.

We'll see if anything comes of this...

In my heyday of Niners worship from early 80s to mid 90s, I hated Elway. But somehow near the end of the 90s when he got two rings I was happy for him. Before that ring, Elway seemed like the most cursed man in football.

I also didn't like Troy Aiken.

Being a California resident, it was hard to see Elway (Stanford), Aiken (UCLA), and Brady (home grown Bay Area kid) take home rings for teams from other states.

I'm very happy with my home team's draft and offseason moves so far.

My home team's the Eagles.

My adopted team is dysfunctional and may go 0-17 in a 16 game season after the drama this offseason. The adopted team? The Broncos.

All in all, I'm looking for some great games this season. Can McNabb win with help on offense finally? Being a true Eagles fan, I expect him to be hit by a meteor or something since it's inconceivable that we'll have a healthy QB at the same time that we have receivers.

And Denver? What a disaster. After being punished with Bubby Brister, Jake Plummer, et. al., we finally had the real deal. And our new "coach" sent him packing.

We'll see. And good luck to all. (Except the Cowboys, Giants, Redskins, Raiders, New England, Baltimore, Indianapolis...) :D

Cutler is a cry baby.. he hasn't proved **** in the NFL, and isn't the "real deal" until he can deal with a few trade rumors and not act like a four year old when mommy takes away his candy bar. Grow up and act like a professional.. the NFL is a business.

McDaniels ****ed up by not bringing in a good replacement though.. Kyle Orton blows.

The NFL is indeed a business. One where you build a franchise around a quarterback. If Cutler had been a Terrell Owens type of player, he would deserve to be left out of the discussions. But when you've got a guy who is showing up, not destroying a team, and is generally popular with the ticket holders, you could at least show him enough respect to not try to trade him out of nowhere. This isn't a 3rd string lineman. It's the guy whose face is on the program.

They tried to trade for a guy who hadn't proven himself at all either. Trading Cutler to bring in Roethlisberger would not have caused a problem. Trading him for a backup QB that had an excellent team around him without previous tensions was just stupidity.

But the "coach" has what he wanted. A clean break from Shannahan, and full control. If his new QB does well, things could change. But right now, a kid who never made it at Tampa Bay and a guy who couldn't beat out Grossman? Not exactly an upgrade.

Looks like the Farve saga is starting up again:rolleyes:

I don't have a TV these days, so I haven't heard. ESPN just shows on their site that he's playing catch with an assistant in Minnesota.

With the NHL done for the season, I'm dying for some football. I'm nervously excited about the Eagles. I'm nauseated about the Broncos.

It's going to be a big year for Alka-Selzer. :D

Not to mention Usain Bolt ;)

If draft is graded on combined height and/or combined weight, then the Dolphins would have had a stellar draft. I am quite pleased that they picked up Vontae Davis to boost their secondary (especially now they have to face TO and Randy Moss twice) and that late in the first round too. Let's hope Vontae is as good as his brother and not a bust like Jason Allen has turned out to be.

The rest remain to be seen, intrigued by the Pat White pick, could be genius or it could be yet another wasted second round QB.

A lot of so-called "experts" are sleeping on the Fins, calling for them to fall back to earth after last season. Well, I dont think thats the case. I think they have gotten better on offense and defense, and have another offseason to work the WC offense in, with a new wrinkle in Pat White. If they can add some more depth at CB and/or WR, I can see them having a home game in February.

They won't be bad, but I highly doubt they'll win the AFC East again this year.

It would be amazing if the Dolphins could win the AFC East again this year but they have an incredibly tough schedule ahead of them thanks to their 2008 season success. They also had as many breaks going for them in 2008 as they had go against them in that disastrous 2007 campaign.

I dont think its out of the question. The division is going to come down to the Pats and Fins IMO. I dont see any of the other three challenging.

I don't disagree, but I do slightly beg to differ...plenty of NFL love in a select few European countries. As a business the NFL sees a viable market for more revenue. Just sayin.......

Fantasy League?

Hey All,

I tried doing a separate thread, but it didn't generate any feedback, so I thought I would try posting here. Would anyone be interested in participating in a MacRumors NFL Fantasy League this next year? I've seen our European brethren have a pretty active European Football league going with MacRumors members and I thought it could be fun to do an NFL one. What do you think? Thoughts... Suggestions... Ideas...

They're calling for a fall back to earth because they have one of the hardest strength of schedules in the league. And I don't get the enthusiasm with the Wildcat. Didn't help much against the Ravens in the playoffs :-/

NFL divisions only have four teams.

As long as it's an ESPN league, I'll play.
