No worries..I already had an intervention with a couple of Jet's fans at the gym this morning (yes there are actually Jet's fans around here). They were giddy, like a couple of schoolgirls on the first day of school..Told them not to book the trip to Miami in Feb just yet. They both looked at me like a couple of kids that just found out that Santa wasn't real.Sanchez had a nice game for a rookie QB in his first NFL start. But then again,it was the Texans :p

A.J. Feeley signs with Panthers over Eagles
Philadelphia wanted him back, but Feeley has a better shot to start multiple games in Carolina, where starter Jake Delhomme is showing decreased arm strength and forcing passes into heavy coverage in an apparent attempt to compensate. Feeley may need a few weeks to learn OC Jeff Davidson's offense, but will be a threat to Delhomme's job if Carolina's starter continues to implode. Consider grabbing Feeley in two-quarterback leagues. Sep. 14 - 4:42 pm et

1. Eagles have ANOTHER new QB. Jeff Garcia. Wow. McNabb, Kolb, Vick, Garcia - Eagles must have questions at that position to bring in Garcia.3 minutes ago from UberTwitter

The network switched over to the Bengals vs. Broncos after the local game here. So yep, I tuned in just in time to see the Stokely play. Sweet! It was awesome and couldn't have happened to a better guy. With one play, he's cemented his highlight status for the year.

As cool as the Stokley play was, I was kind of hoping that Josh McDaniels would lose to the Bengals by a point. Not a fan of the way he has messed that team around in the offseason. Still, I guess he can't rely on a miracle occurring every week...

I had a hard time telling if the Raiders were actually decent or the Chargers were just lost. Not sold at all on the Raiders quarterback at this point. I think they would've won this game with Garcia.

Awesome game last night. That Pats pulled one out of the fire. The Bills had this game lock stock and barrel and simply blew it. A win is a win so I'm happy but they (the pats) did not look too sharp.

They better get their acts together because they'll have a tougher time with the jets.

Bills find new ways to lose games every year, esp on MNF. Taking out a KO from the endzone with an 11 point late in the fourth qtr  Ugly win is an understatement. But it's a win,and for a team with a lot of new parts,I'll take it. O line better up their game next weekend, esp with Ellis coming back. Matt Light getting owned for an entire game, that's something new  Looks like Watson is Brady's third option. Still painful to watch Maroney do his ballerina impersonation at the line. I hope BJGE is back next week..And I hope that Mayo's injury isn't serious...

What a game!

Some really bad ref calls.

I'm not sure which is more true.. that Pats played badly or the Bills played well (other than major mistakes)? Let's face it, the Pat's secondary did a pretty good job. Naturally this let the Bills running game do some dirty work, and dirty work they did. The Pat's pass rush was a non-factor until the last quarter.
The Pats moved the ball, but the Bill D was awesome in the red zone. There were some great defensive plays and the Bills D (and fans) should be pleased that this may not be another so-so year. Brady really started to get in sync in the last 1/2, particularly the last quarter. The O-line finally started to give him some cover, but the running game.. sheesh. Nothing there. I don't know if it's the Bill's D-line (I suspect so, they were all over Brady for most of the game) or a tired and undertrained O-line.

In the end, it was ugly, which is a classic Pats game and a W is a W.. but Bills fans should be heartened. If the coaches can take care of the mental mistakes, Edwards can keep consistent, and TO can keep his mouth shut.. I think the Bills will be a good team.

I was getting nervous for the Chargers.... Loosing to the Raiders on MNF on opening weekend MNF none the less!

I think it is more the Chargers were playing like crap. The Raiders need a quarterback. I thought they actually looked a little better when the backup stepped in for a few plays. That is just me thou.

I think that's called the Norv Turner affect. While he may be a nice guy and the players like him. He always seems to take a very good team and makes it mediocre. While he may be a great offensive coordinator, he's never really excelled as a head coach.

I don't expect great things from the chargers

I totally understand. I think he is definitely on a short leash. The whole thing is sad since Denver is such a historically rich franchise. Although watching the Chicago game you have to say Orton had a better outing. But in the long run I think Cutler is a better QB. The Broncos will definitely have to step it up if they want to have a chance. Especially, Eddie Royal who is on my fantasy team. :D

The Garcia thing in Philly confuses me when you consider they are looking to trade Hank Baskett in order to make it work. Kolb is going to get the nod and Vick will be available after game 2. Is Garcia as an insurance policy worth losing Baskett who made some good plays last year? I'm not sure...

As far as last night goes for the Pats. Call it ugly but as far as the stat line goes Brady, Moss, Welker, and Watson had a huge night. He may have looked inconsistent, but Brady distributed the ball to various targets and ends up with the more yards than any other QB at the end of week 1. I think the Pats are definitely going to be contenders this year.

I have to give the Raiders some credit. The defense and running game looked much improved. Watching the Chargers I have to say things don't look good for LT. When the game was on the line he was watching from the side as Darren Sproles got the ball and the win. He could easily be with another team next year unless he steps it up big time in the next 15 games.

My prediction is Eagles vs. Steelers next February...and that's coming from a Bayou Boy. I'm basing this on off-season moves thus far and of course the draft.

GEAUX SAINTS!!! :p

I think I saw that on a Nostradamus show on the history channel. I would make my choices based more on hairstyle and the budget of Tampa's public works department. Personally, I used to read tea leaves and consult bigfoot.

A great weekend of football and nobody is talking about it?

Nice win for the Jets, were they playing the Pats? didn't look like it.:p

Jerry World opened with a great game... for the Giants. I must say that stadium does look kick ass.

It is! Wasn't there last night, but got to go to a preseason game. Truly amazing. Although the talk here today is that the 20,000 plus standing room only "party passes" were kind of a bust. I'm just glad no one hit the big screen so the media can shut up and stop talking about it. Sheesh!

All in all, an awesome football weekend in reality and for my fantasy teams (3 and 1 baby!) The Jets did look good, you got to give Sanchez credit for a well played 2nd half when he was actually allowed to throw the ball.

How 'bout them Bengals, wow. Sad to see my Titans got beat but, what a game. The Houston offense can put up numbers when they want to. A record day for Warner, Cutler shows up, Brees keeps doing what he does, and both Flacco and Ryan show they are not going to take a 2nd year slide. What a competitive season it's going to be. :)

The Pats/Jets games sucked (for Pats fans). I don't know what happened.

Jets defense playing really well?
Pats offense playing really badly?
A mix of both?

Brady had so little protection, and the Jets coverage was excellent. Mix in too many penalties, questionable throws (too high, too long, too far behind), Welker-Lite (no experience, but he tried), too much coverage on Moss, and butter-hands Galloway.. What a mess. The Pats running game, same deal. It HAS to be the Pats O-line.. with 4 healthy backs? Why the **** weren't they pounding away at the Jets line? Hell, the Jets D was ****ing AGRO. Pats red zone offense continued Teh Suck.

Pats defense played pretty well, but how much of that is the D, and how much of that was the inexperience of Sanchez (who I thought played pretty well, BTW)?

Special Teams goes to the Jets.

12th man definitely goes to the Jets. The normally rabid crowd was whipped into a frenzy. I can't believe how many procedural calls there were against the Pats.

Coaching? Man, the new Jets coach is FAT as hell! :) On the Pats side.. there was some really weird plays.

In the end, it was a disappointing game for Pats fans and a tough loss to a division rival. Time to head home, run some damn laps, and regroup.

?.
-Pats abandoned the running game. Why,I have no idea as Taylor was pounding it inside in the first half.
-Dropped INT by Adalius Thomas that would have been a drive killer.
-Strip by Mike Right deep in Jet's territory.Took about two seconds before any defender realized it was a live ball.
-Edelman open on the one and Brady overthrew him, badly.
-Brady's timing is definitely off,esp w/Galloway and Edelman
-Light unable to handle a speed rush, nothing new there.
-Pat's D inability to get off the field on third and long.
-Totally vanilla D by the Pats.No blitzes at all. One guy I miss more than anybody is Romeo Crenell. That guy had some creative defensive play calls.
-Four delay of game penalties (eleven overall) by the Pats.WTF??
I could go on,but that's it in a nutshell..Tip your hat to the Jets. They made the adjustments at halftime, and the Pats didn't..

It's no surprise that the Patriots' defense sucks. The signs were there even last year and even in 2007, it's just they weren't as obvious because the offense was covering for them. Brady just looks rusty- he'll fix that soon enough.

Oh, and Moss's lame excuses about a safety rolling over the top are weak. Didn't seem to bother him in 2007 or 2008; I think that's just his way of saying he hasn't made the necessary adjustments to get in a good position to make catches.

^Because you touch yourself at night

:D :p

J-E-T-S JETS! JETS JETS!

What a game yesterday. Jet defense is a friggin monster. No TDs allowed so far.
