It wasn't catchable..And Favre just did a replay of the 07 NFCCG when he lobbed a wounded duck..He had at least 10 yards open in front of him..

bleh oh well guess ill root for the colts I really Wanted to See Favre be in but oh well. I have a feeling that this game is going to be a blowout by the colts. The Saints D is to spotty to prove they can Stop Manning.

It is amazing how well Favre played. But, of course that last play he messed up on is what cost the Vikes the game. All game he didn't choke and it was the fumbles costing them the game. But, he choked at that moment..... I mean the Vikings would have had the game won most likely if Patterson held on to that ball back in the end of the 1st half( either by TD or FG).

Wow, the Vikings really killed themselves with 5 turnovers. Its hard to win a game with that many. But I am happy that the Saints are going to their first Super Bowl.

A lot of early money coming in on the Colts..The line moved 1.5 points in under an hour...

The Super Bowl will be close.

If Indy plays like they did in the second half today they will probably win by a touchdown. If they play like they did their first half, then I give it to the Saints by 14 points.

Wow did the saints play like dog pile the second half and the Vikings and favre still managed to blow it. Welcome to the annual favre playoff letdown vike fans!!!!!!!

The whole offense cost them the game. It is a shame that Favre's one mistake in the game cost them the game at the end, but those fumbles overall cost them the game.

Agreed, you can't turn the ball over 5 times and expect to win the game.

The Saints better screw their heads on right if they expect to have a fighting chance against the Colts. The only Saint who should be happy with his performance tonight is Garrett Hartley. Yeah, they obviously pulled together four touchdowns, but it was just garbage football by both teams.

I have a feeling that the only Colts fans will be those in Indiana. "I'm all alone...there's no one here beside me..." Also, what's the deal with hating Manning? Is it because he's talented? Really, I don't understand it.

Oh well. Go Blue :p

And they didn't protect Favre for crap. He had what? 14 hits on the night. Which one injured his ankle which is why I suspected he elected to pass the ball instead of running it on that last play. Why risk further injury to that ankle and causing him to miss the SB on one play.......

Favres a faker :p needs to hike up his skirt and retire for realz now. Seriously though, the interception is what people will see as the turning point. I've been telling poeple all season that have been giving me crap about favre "just wait until that 4th quarter playoff interception". I called it from the start. It's tine for the Nfls biggest prima Donna to call it quits. I used to have so much respect for the man before he pulled this seasons stunt. The pack administration might have deserved seeing Brent play as a jet, but packer fans didn't deserve seeing him play for the viqueens

I am not rooting for either team in the SB, but what did you call Indy's first half?

I don't care how bad you call the Saints, but they beat the Vikings, a pretty decent team. On top of a good postseason, they had an amazing regular season. And it's not as if the Saints got only ten points or something low.

I think the SB may be close and I slightly favor the Saints, but if any Saints fans think they are going to run over Indy, they have to take into account Manning, who can dangerous any time he handles the football. Indy can't be counted out until the game is over. Manning, like Elway in a previous era, is one QB that can be down by 14 points in the 4th and come back and win it all.

There isn't enough data on Brees to know what kind of QB he is in huge games year after year. This will be a first for the Saints in the Super Bowl. I can't wait to see this one as opposed to other years where I would rather watch the commercials. :)

Whatever. Favre has a home here if he wants to come back, it was slop far from a blowout.

Colts eat those saints... ;)

Agreed. The Vikings had *5* turnovers and the Saints barely pulled out a win in OT thanks to the last Vikings interception. If you are +4 in turnovers you should be dominating the other team on the scoreboard. That Saints have to play better against the Colts if they want any shot at winning the SB.

Oh believe me, I know that Indy played a schoddy first half. For some reason, they like coming back in the second half. I don't know if they're intentionally trying to make good TV or what, but I only have so much fingernail to bite. I guess I'll have to take some pointers from the other thread.

And don't get me wrong, there's a reason why the Saints were going to go undefeated. Brees is a phenomenal QB and the regular season really paved their way to the Superbowl.

If you ask me though, the Saints were playing to get into the Superbowl, and the Colts are playing to win it.

Just a couple of thoughts

1. Vintage Favre throwing the pick to end things. Last pass as Packer... pick in the playoffs (overtime), last pass as a Jet... pick, last pass as a Viking (we can only hope)... pick in the playoffs. I used to love early Favre. This incarnation needs to be put to pasture. It isn't that he can't play, he is still as good or better than half the QB's in the league. It is the circus that is "Favre" that I can't stomach.

2. Manning is a great QB. Greatest of all time? Shrug. What is the fascination with naming someone THE greatest of all time. Didn't win the big ones in college and never beat the Gators. One Superbowl when he arguably had the best team several years. He is one of the best "two minutes left in the half" QB's and nobody wants him to have the ball with a chance to win the game (see Belichik's pucker). But once again, the media hype is over the top for him, for Archie and Eli. They make funny commercials, but I dislike anyone that is hyped beyond all recognition, and Favre, Manning and Tebow are trifecta for that. Not looking forward to two weeks of the Manning family stories.

3. The J-E-T-S have a good team, not a great team. The are built similarly to the Ravens SB team. Good to great defense, strong running, and adequate QB play that doesn't lose the game. They had a good run, but the proof will come next year with the sophomore slump for Sanchez and how the develop under Ryan. Free agency, draft and more will play a part.

4. The Saints are a great story. Philip Rivers is good, but the Chargers kicked a great QB out of San Diego. Brees is a leader, a competitor and a winner against the odds at Purdue, in San Diego and now New Orleans. He is the perfect QB to lead the Saints and New Orleans out of obscurity. They have their weaknesses too, and they will have their hands full.

I will root for the Saints and hope for the best.

Wow these last two games were great. I'm glad to see the jets and the vikings lose :D

Now we'll have to hear continually about that attention hoar Favre debate whether he wants to retire or not for the next 9 months.

The super bowl is going to be a good one, but I suspect that the colts will win this one. Partly because they've been here before and won't let the event take their attention off the prize and also they just seem a little better at this stage.

Right before he threw that I IM'd my friend "pick-6 coming up right here." I was half-right.

The Jets just struck me as pretenders in the playoffs. Their defense was only better than the offenses they were playing against, but Manning made them look ordinary. The Ravens were a "great" defense in that even the best couldn't figure them out.

And so it begins..The annual installment of "Will he stay or retire?Again"
Favre wearily stepped his postgame podium Sunday night, bruises and cuts above his head, facing reporters after another season-ending interception.

He was asked if he was going to take a few months to decide his future.

"I wouldn't say months, I know people are rolling their eyes or will roll their eyes," Favre said. "In a situation like this, I really don't want to make a decision right now based solely on what's happened. Because I do know the year could have not gone any better aside from us not going to Miami.

"I really enjoyed the guys. I just wonder if I can hold up, especially after a day like today, physically and mentally. That was pretty draining," Favre said.

FOX's Jay Glazer said Sunday that Favre's teammates are convinced he'll retire. But they don't really know, just like we don't know.

"I am going to go home a couple days, and talk it over with the family," Favre said.

And it looks like the Tebow era/saga is beginning:
Tim Tebow makes his unofficial arrival to the NFL
The day after what might have been the last game ever played by quarterback Brett Favre, another quarterback whom many believe could become the heir to Favre's throne unofficially launches his pro career, as Senior Bowl week commences in Mobile, Alabama.

Tebow recently spoke with Peter King of SI.com. And though Tebow previously has said he'll do whatever the team that drafts him wants him to do, it's clear he's hoping to be drafted by a team that wants to make him an every-down quarterback.

"I want to show, number one, that I'm a competitor, and I'm not afraid for teams to see everything about me," Tebow told King. "My goal is to find just one team, one out of 32, to believe in me as a quarterback. I'm not just the guy who can play in the spread offense, or throw a jump pass or run the triple option. I'm a football junkie. I study it all the time. I've studied every type of offense -- pro style, West Coast. Just because I haven't played every kind of offense, why can't I? Why can't I run the West Coast? My coaches at Florida didn't just teach us a system. They taught us football. So I want the NFL people to put me through everything. Grind on me, test me. I feel I've worked my whole life to prepare for this.''

And it looks like the Tebow era/saga is beginning:

Do you think he's good enough to be pro quality QB in the NFL?

I'm not trying to start a flame war, but his passing skills are not as strong his running ability.
