Sure, why not? Their products already create enough buzz on their own; it's smart to fan the flames a bit now and then.
Definitely best to stay away from rumor sites in that case. (There are news-only sites out there.)

no they don't i haven't seen an iPod or iPhone commercial or news story in forever, i see android stuff all the time though. apples just playing major catch up is all.
The only reason I want to hear about it's true release date, is then I know that's done, and all Apples iPhone focus will be on the next model. No matter how little or how much iPhone 5 contains, it will be a placeholder at best.

Then you've not been watching much TV. Just one more thing that makes an iPhone an iPhone I've seen the new ad a number of times as well as seeing a fresh run of Verizon iPhone ads.
They can make commercials all day long, but that doesn't mean they are aired. i still see wayyyyy more Android commercials per volume then iPhone ones.
