The white on white everywhere hurts my eyes. I sold my iphone 4 and bought a Galaxy S3. Love it! Still have my ipad but not for long.
Android takes a bit to get use to but once get use to it will not go back!
No jailbreak required to load non-market apps. Can download themes that change everything - not needed but it is there!
Looks to me like apple should let the cydia folks save them but I doubt that will happen in their control everything mentality.

We are apple fans...Why should we not tell what is good for apple?
We should move to android?? Just because two or three people in apple misguiding the entire apple leadership, we should move android? we should fight against these two people who gave us the crappy design and pretending that these issues are common.

Its not we who has to move away from apple...but these two or three people in apple (who are misguiding on design changes) needs to move out of apple to android and let their crappy design infect android

You most likely aren't even in the majority because I'm fairly sure people are adjusting to what iOS 7 is like. Forums always have a loud group of people complaining and for good reason. People can voice their displeasure. But you have to understand that arguing with the users here don't do you a bit of good.

This isn't crappy design as a whole, this is change. There is no going back despite what you and the others think you can do. You have feedback? There's a link for that. Minor quirks like the dialer erase button (which I agree with, mind you) can perhaps be influenced by large numbers of people. But yelling loudly into forum posts such as this where there are nothing but echoes and bitterness won't help your case.

Also, I'm pretty sure Apple isn't going to let go of Jony Ive. Sorry.

You doesn't seem to know the ground reality...go outside ...every person is disappointed and angered...people are not able to do anything because ...they are not allowed to go back.

Sorry I am in the majority. I am not a person who go into forums and post things...if you had noticed I just registered to this site a week ago.

The first thing I did was to walk into an apple store and asked if I could get back to ios 6.
Their response: "A lot of people are asking the same thing, but unfortunately we cannot do that"
I went 4 other apple stores with the hope I can get back ios 6...but everybody says the same thing..."We have been asked by numerous people about this and we can't help"

Go and do the survey with apple store staff....you will know who is in majority.

Do not under estimate this rejection of ios 7 and compare this with issues with every release.
Let me also tell you that I am not talking about additional functionality, which might be good.

Who is Jony Ive...is he the person behind all this design debacle?

Apple letting him or any other person leave is up to apple...but I am hoping apple leadership realizes soon on this issue.
Mind you, the issue is not on going back to ios 6...but keeping and continuing the good old design.
Yes I did submit the feedback on apple site.

There is a minority group who is supporting ios 7 and I strongly believe they are strong followers of the people responsible for this design debacle. And they are the ones who are showing the arrogance.

Who on earth will tell "apple will not consider the old design again" and on what authority?

Thank you. Not only are people completely over-exaggerating things, they're flat out lying and trying to blame Apple for "upgrading their phone without me knowing what would happen." Grow up.

Yeah, right! Phones says do an update and people in the real world do an update. Only severe phone geeks would check to see what it does.

It is a phone, nothing bad should be done without major warnings. If there had been a message about the upgrade completely changing the way the phone worked and people should read about it before upgrading then that would have been a valid justification for claiming people were told. However, if the same message appear from 6.0.0 to 6.0.1 as appeared form 6.1.3 to 7.0.0 then why should people assume it's any different.

Real world people just hit apply to updates, no reading as they dont expect problems that apple have no intention of fixing.

Maybe you need to grow up and stop playing with the phone as a kiddy would instead of those that want to use it as an adult!

Strange, I find that the fades are much faster. Back to roughly the sort of speed iOS6 had.

I thought so too at first, probably because the icons are "in place" straight away. But the time it takes until the screen reacts seem to be the same. Too bad.

How do you know this?

Could you show me a statistically proven survey that backs your claim?

Who on earth will tell "apple will not consider the old design again" and on what authority?
Honestly, it's pretty obvious why they won't consider the old design again. It's outdated and they've decided to leave it. When they overhaul the design again - it won't be to an old one.

"Anything can happen" you might say. Yes. It can. But the probability of Apple saying "we worked on this for several years, and not until after the release did we realise iOS 6 was better, we're totally going back" is so low it can be considered impossible.

You got the following screen prior to upgrading...it sort of hints there are lots of changes by saying ""contains hundreds of new features", uses the term "new design" and gives you every opportunity to read further.

No going back to iOS 6 = no more Apple purchases! I'm starting a movement

Your "survey" of Apple store employees is not necessarily representative of the opinions of people regarding iOS 7. People who are unhappy about an issue tend to be much more vocal than those who are happy about it. Those who are happy about the changes would have no reason to go to the Apple store and complain, therefore if you only rely on the responses of Apple store employees you would obtain a very skewed sample of people's opinions regarding iOS 7.

Actually it says "BEAUTIFUL new design"

Beautiful it ain't unless you're in to Fisher Price.

Yes....it does say that and that is subjective and you will get different answers from different people hence why i left it out and just highlighted the fact it says new design to emphasise the point that people were advised it would be changing but i suspect a lot of those moaning didnt even bother reading that screen and blindly pressed the buttons.

For what its worth i quite like the look of iOS7!

Yourself included pal. It's strength in numbers. I think apple has more than a challenge with today's Android devices... More like a serious threat.

No, I'm not one of the people screaming bloody murder over the update. I know how to read update notes and google iOS7 before blindly clicking Install Now.

Going back to iOS6 isn't exactly going to keep Apple competitive.

So guess you are saying that "real world people" are just a bunch of idiots and morons who don't know how or are too lazy to read :eek:;):roll eyes:

Come on now , I'm far from being a geek but I never ever sign anything without reading it first .

This is far from signing something--people do not attribute even a small amount of that kind of an importance to something like an iOS update--and the typical iOS user simply isn't anywhre close to following technology or to really even think much about updates that come to their phones. That's not to say they shouldn't, but it is to say that's simply just not the reality.

That's why treads like this exist ;-))))

I love that note at the bottom. Edited by whoever: removed insult! So funny. Don't worry about me Mr. Moderator, I would have loved to see the insult instead.

This is one point you make where you're kind of right. They need to keep their ecosystem unfragmented so they force people on the latest OS, and do not allow downgrades. It's just so unbelievably controlled, to the point where they have to accept losing some customers in hopes of retaining the masses. I'm sure it will work in the long run for them. It just didn't work for me, and by the size of this thread, I'm not alone.

If you don't consider the feedback from apple store...where else you will get...the people who are posting in favor of ios 7...is that what you consider??

Stop pretending and understand the ground reality.

you liked the look of ios 7? Jeez ...Either you don't have a taste or you are an android fan...who wants apple commit such mistakes.

Steve's Apple produced products that look so good you wanted to lick them.

Cook is cranking out stuff that looks like it's been eaten before :)

If you don't consider the feedback from apple store...where else you will get...

I don't think you're comprehending what I'm saying. People are not going to go to the Apple Store and tell the employees there how great they think iOS 7 is even if they think it's absolutely fantastic. They will however go there for assistance if they think they are having issues. In other words those with no issues/problems have little to no reason to discuss iOS 7 with the employees whereas those with issues/problems will have much more incentive to. Therefore your sample of the experiences of the Apple Store employees is not necessarily representative of the overall public impression of iOS 7.

the people who are posting in favor of ios 7...is that what you consider??

It really depends on the issue about iOS 7 being discussed. I never said it was perfect. There are things I don't like about it. All in all though, I like it. However, unlike you, I don't think that everyone has to agree with my opinion on the matter. I do however take into account that in most situations people who have issues with something are much more likely to express their opinions than those who do not when I gauge the overall public impression of iOS 7. Hell, take yourself for example. If you were happy with iOS 7 you probably wouldn't be here posting right now.

"Ground reality."

What does that even mean in reference to a phone OS?

Why does being able to enjoy iOS7 mean you're an android fan or you have no taste?

I bought the Original iPhone when it cost $600 dollars ON CONTRACT. You know what changed about the OS outside of the App Store from iOS1 to iOS6? Absolutely nothing. It was the same exact screen for YEARS. It was monotonous. It was boring. It was pretty dreadful to look at after a while, and Android actually surpassed it once ICS came out (This forum is actually completely ridiculous with how many people regard android as such an inferior operating system, while having never actually tried it. )

I just bought a 5S phone and switched away from my Note 2 this gen. Do I think iOS7 is perfect? Nope. But I don't have any problems with it, and it's much more cohesively designed than anything before it on the iPhone was.
