The only reason I can see for Apple to have delayed Ivy Bridge Mac mini this long was to avoid cannibalizing iMac sales. iMac was delayed due to display lamination issues. If the Mini gets Ivy Bridge today, I can't imagine iMac wont be updated as well. I won't be surprised if the 27" is delayed, a few weeks.

Blood will be spilled if the iMac doesn't get updated, and the Mac mini did.

Good chance they won't make major announcement today as this may confuse the focus of the event which is primarily for the iPad mini and a minor iPad revision with the emphasis on education. We may see a silent update as has been the norm for the iMac in recent years?

I still maintain (and have all year) that 2013 will be the iMacs turn for a major update/redesign when retina display may be more realistic and cost effective for such screen sizes. 2012 update, I'm guessing, will be the usual GPU, CPU upgrade plus USB 3. Perhaps there will be a tweak on the chassis if they drop the optical drive and who knows, an SSD drive as standard but that may be a stretch for Apple this time around

Just a question guys can you watch the event from the Apple website with Windows?

Here's what it says on the bottom of the Apple website:

Live streaming video requires Safari 4 or later on Mac OS X v10.6 or later; Safari on iOS 4.2 or later.

I don't have Windows. Perhaps someone can try it for you on Windows to see whether the live stream will work on there?

Shocking!!! Would think they would want to show off new products to PC users to attract more converts.

New products? A shrunken iPad is not the most exciting product in the world - a smaller version of something that already exists. Great. I'd like the apple share price to drop after this if there aren't any new iMacs

Apple Store Shipping dates

The Apple Store has gone down for maintenance - which is a good sign - but I noticed before that the shipping dates for the iMac had not slipped.

Perhaps more evidence that iMac updates are not to be expected.

(Also lost my old account, new account, first post, yay me. Hmph.)
