My screen seems kinda bluish gray, I have to have the brightness up almost all the way.

OMG you people are freaking pathetic. Canceling your preorder because of what someone else said. Wow. Stupid. Stupid. People.

The background in the settings menu is different on the iPhone and the iPad. Why are you guys so surprised that they look different?

Wow. You canceled your order because someone posted a picture of a backlight bleeding screen?

You realize you can return it for a FULL REFUND if you don't like it, right?

Sorry I didn't explain myself well. I ordered an ipad, but I had second thoughts. It had nothing to do with potential backlight bleeding issues. I was just curious if they were still present in the ipad 3. :)

The reason I mentioned my cancelled order was because I posted previously about having ordered, and I thought someone might query why i couldn't check myself. ;)

It's nicer. A little bit. I'm just not seeing a huge difference.
I have to agree. I went to Best Buy fully expecting to buy one (and give my Ipad 2 to my sister), but after seeing it first hand I was a bit underwhelmed. The display *is* visibly better, but the effect is rather subtle. LTE could become interesting once the network coverage gets better, but I have used HSPA (AT&T) extensively when traveling and have been quite happy with that, so LTE is not a pressing issue for me.

I think Apple made a good move by continuing to offer the Ipad 2 for a reduced price. It is still an attractive product and should help to get more Ipads into people's hands. :)

totally agree! I went to Best Buy this am with a coworker( we both have the original iPad) while the screen is noticeably nicer, I didn't get that WOW...blow me away and make me spend this hard earn cash! I was ready mentally to buy it and give mine to my preacher dad...I played around with, watched videos and looked at photos and thought of all the amazing things but at the end of the day, I decided to wait it out for a couple of months, let them get the kinks out and then buy it before I head back home to GA where I can have my new one and help my dad set up the old one. sn# I was number 3 in line at 8am:)

The new iPad has made me hate my iMac screen, my Panasonic 42" Plasma (ST30, calibrated too...) and my not so great Epson 1080P HD Projector. They all officially suck.

Don't even get me started on my iPad 2. I did a slideshow starting at the same time on each and it was night and day.

This display is seriously ruining me.

Yeah, after owning both an iPad 1 and 2, if is screen isn't a night and day difference you should have put the iPad money towards LASIK surgery...

It's amazing. Before I often used the iPad in landscape mode. Now I'm using in portrait mode because the text is so crisp and clear! It's incredible how I can read the tiniest of text.

hyperbole. I have 20/20 vision. All my friends can't believe how good my vision is because theirs is so poor. people are just pumping it up too much so people have unattainable expectations.

People are missing the point in this thread. No one is saying he new display isn't clear for type. I'm saying the tint is off. has nothing to do with 20/20 vision.

Taking my pad back. Will wait for a clear tint screen. Done with yellow screens.

Just want to go on record that the yellowing is 100% not glue or some crap like that. It never has been never will be. Yellow tint screens never change tint. End of story. Stop spreading this falsehood

It will go away. Give it a week.

Watched the first 5 minutes of the Netflix series Lilyhammer.
Had watched the series previously but it's completely off the hook.

This is going to rock the world of displays, there can be no denying.
I'm destroyed. Apple just destroyed my eyes. Reality is looking dull compared to this beautiful screen.

Just wow.

Display is definitely an improvement. I just played angry birds and the colors are so vivid. Flipboard also updated their app to accommodate the retina display, and looks amazing.

OMG,I'm right yet again. You let their marketing get in your head.

Personally, I still think the Super AMOLED Samsung produces is a bit superior in a way (and I"m not being a fanboy, as Samsung makes the iPad display and not of their tvs are OLED based yet). It's still an IPS display. They really didn't make zero level blacks or anything on this (not sure why, considering Samsung makes the display and their TVs are great). The color saturation and black level need to be greatly increased to see a difference. A 720p plasma will at many times look better than an 1080p lcd.

I honestly wished they had a Retina SUPERAMOLED display. no one has made it yet. bastards.

Colors are what create depth. I mean, the iPad great colors, but they could be better.
