Well I didn't. I ordered one from AT&T but it didn't complete so I ordered one from Apple and it did go through. I then cancelled my order from AT&T on June 16th. So the only order I had was from Apple.

Add me to thel list, order just went to cancelled on Apple.com Still got a reservation though.

Ash =o)

People dont worry, last year my 3GS was the last flight out of Hong Kong. It was still in HK on the 14th and arrived at my house on the 15th at 8:30 in the morning. They arent all on one plane.

Just wanted to add a little more data to this thread -

ordered 16GB Black model @ June 15th 8:01AM PDT, directly from Apple @ Apple.com

Brand new single line through ATT. No phone # porting. When I went to checkout using my Apple ID, I noticed it was using a credit card I would prefer not to have the total amount billed to, so I let it bill between two cards - $5.00 on one credit card, and the remainder on another.

I have yet to receive confirmation that it has shipped, however it's still showing - Ships: Delivers on June 24th.

Hopefully I'll get the shipping info tomorrow.

follow up after talking to sup - he had nothing much useful to add - but he suggested I call AT&T and see if its on review on their side.

I drove down to local store and here is the bombshell - the store clerk looked up using my SSN and found around 16 accounts created and attached to my SSN - all those were the failed or timed-out attempts in the midst of Jun 15 chaos.

Store rep called AT&T support from store and spoke to guy - he says apart from that he don't see anything wrong with account and he gave me account id which will be used when activating my account.

But he didn't had anything like releasing information to apple - so probably I will call again apple tomorrow again and give them the account id given to me - if that helps anyways.

Btw: On the way I also went to apple store and they couldn't help me at all - the bimbo was telling me none of iphone start shipping till Jun 24 - that kind of showed how much she (didn't) knew.

so right now on call with apple.com - the guy saying everything looks good, he went and checked with their support team (meh!) and still insists everything looks ok - but now tone changes that everything looks ok on 'apple' side and I should consider calling ATT&T

I told him there should be no complication of upgrade/transfer etc as this is brand new contract (never had AT&T before etc).

Also asked him what should I tell AT&T store? Look up my apple.com order - he didn't had any solid response.

So I have asked him to get me sup - so I can make some stink of this - now on hold while he is locating some sup

as I have been telling for last one week - FUUUU apple!

This has been covered in other threads.

Apple/AT&T always stockpiles a bunch of phones at various locations around the US. If your phone is destined to be one of these, you won't get the notice until the day or two before the 24th that it's been shipped, since they can just overnight it to you.

If you are one of the people getting the phone direct from the factory in China, you got your notice last Friday or Saturday, because it takes that much longer to ship.

So everyone who has yet to see "Shipped" on their AT&T Order Status, post the city you are in so that we can see if this does indeed make sense. Smaller cities = earlier shipping date, Larger cities = later shipping date.

I am located in Hoover, a suburb of Birmingham, AL and order still says "in progress".

I'm a little bit worried now that someone has made mention of the fact that during the chaos of trying to get through to Apple's servers/ATT's auth. systems, they had 16 accounts under their name but only wanted to order one phone (the 16 accounts resulting from the failed attempts at getting the phone.

Ugh, I had multiple failed attempts when trying to pre-order. I hope I don't have to go through the same thing,

I got the same issue. Mine says shipping July 2nd now.

Screw that.

I'm sending the wife to wait in line at the local ATT on Thursday morning around 0500.

I had the same thing happen to 2 of my 4 iPhone orders (all different lines). I talked to a lot of reps from both Apple and AT&T... it seems that most cancellations are because of multiple orders (per line) making it into their system. In most cases people tried to order through AT&T and it apparently didn't work or they didn't receive a confirmation e-mail (BUT the system registered the order anyway) and then they ordered from Apple... once the orders are processed pre-shipping AT&T rejects the upgrade and Apple cancels it.

If you cancelled the AT&T one a few days ago chances are their system didn't register the cancellation and reinstate your upgrade eligibility before the time that Apple tried to process and recheck for it.

There is an email that you can send your previous order as well as new order applestoreinfo@apple.com as stated in the "Apple cancels my order" thread... this was sent out by Apple yesterday to some people who had their orders cancelled, they will try to "expedite it" to you whatever that means.

Same... canceled after being assured by a supervisor named Kelly last night that I was being paranoid and would have my phones on the 24th.

Have also been working with a supervisor name Stella out of TX.

Nobody I've been in touch with at Apple seems to have a clue how to properly check eligibility with AT&T.

ATT says all is fine, and I am able to verify that via OLAM.

Wow, this is going to be a fun day...waiting for the inevitable (it seems) order cancellation from Apple. My order is sitting still not yet shipped but it doesn't look good at this point judging by other people in this thread. The only thing that would make it better is if they waited until tomorrow night to cancel, prolonging the pain and suffering.

Well I just got off the phone with Apple. They told me it was an internal error that they are aware of but could not tell me why it happened. She escalated my call to a manager that she said would call me today about the issue and they would do everything they can to get me a phone by the 24th.

She told me it had nothing to do with me or my account. I guess we will see what happens now.

On a side note: I told her I did not want to re-order because it wont ship until the 14th and she told me as of this morning Apple is no longer taking orders at all because of error they are having.

Man, This is getting pathetic.. it's not like it's the first phone they launched.

No change this morning ..... WFT guess I'll be saving $3000, I never seen nothing like it.

I called AT&T and they were able to reinstate my upgrade eligibility while I waited on the phone. It took maybe 20 minutes, host of which was hold time.

Re-ordered through Apple and have sent both the old and new order numbers to Apple to see if there is anything they can do to expedite the replacement.

I just spoke to yet another supervisor. I had to re-order as well.

He sounded VERY doubtful that they could get it shipped before the current July 15th date.

Mood: Still not happy/satisfied

This whole mess puts a sour taste in my mouth.

They have had 4 years to get the cross system communication issue worked out and the processes refined.

Calling Apple right now as I have yet to receive any notification that it has shipped. Don't have a good feeling about this.

Apple is clueless. I ordered from Apple, June 15th at 6:10am and remain 'Not Shipped Yet'. I am a new customer and was porting my number. After a combined 6 hours between Apple and AT&T, the problem was finally found but there was no way around it.

Apparently you're supposed to receive an e-mail from Apple to accept the Terms and Conditions (2 year contract). This is only active for 30 hours from the time your order is placed. Well, I never even got this stupid ****** email but my order was not canceled, just wouldn't ever process. Apple support finally said I will just have to cancel the order or eventually it will on its own. Apple kept saying the order was fine but AT&T told me there was no chance it was going to ship since the terms and agreement were never accepted. Needless to say, I could strangle someone at Apple for all this ********.

If it still isn't shipped, call AT&T to look at the account. Apple has no clue how to do anything.

My biggest complaint is that Apple has endorsed this relationship with AT&T for better or worse and It is their responsibility to resolve this, not mine. Even that being the case, I have put 6 hours of my life into this so far... all on the phone.

I did my part and made sure my AT&T account had/has zero issues.

AT&T would sell me an iPhone 4 today of they had any... but they can't because Apple keeps priority stock (not blaming them, just fact.)

Apple won't sell me one because they have not worked out proper process and clear lines of communication with AT&T.
