Apple is clueless. I ordered from Apple, June 15th at 6:10am and remain 'Not Shipped Yet'. I am a new customer and was porting my number. After a combined 6 hours between Apple and AT&T, the problem was finally found but there was no way around it.

Apparently you're supposed to receive an e-mail from Apple to accept the Terms and Conditions (2 year contract). This is only active for 30 hours from the time your order is placed. Well, I never even got this stupid ****** email but my order was not canceled, just wouldn't ever process. Apple support finally said I will just have to cancel the order or eventually it will on its own. Apple kept saying the order was fine but AT&T told me there was no chance it was going to ship since the terms and agreement were never accepted. Needless to say, I could strangle someone at Apple for all this ********.

If it still isn't shipped, call AT&T to look at the account. Apple has no clue how to do anything.

Sh*t I guarantee I'm in the same boat, I never got that email either...

awesome. I never got any e-mail either. I'm going to make a stink about this, Apple certainly has the capacity to make me 'whole' in this situation. I'm going to ask for them to ship me a phone without a contract.

Good luck with that. Mine was cancelled early this morning. Spoke to at&t, and amazing got my eligibility reinstated without it taking and act of congress. Took about 15 minutes on the phone.

Called apple just now, and there was nothing they could do to get me a phone by the 24th. Even after explaining how ridiculous this is, and that my order was legit and my account is fine.

I really wish they could've somehow notified us of an issue first and got it sorted out, rather than canceling all of us carte blanche.

This has left me with a very serious distaste for apple. Been a loyal user since college, am a former apple store employee, and bought an iPhone every year. This incident is about to make me say ***-it-all to them.

More power too you for trying, but I really think it will be wasted effort. Apple isn't a party to your contract with AT&T so you are really complaining to the wrong company.

spoke to someone named Monica; the said they are sending me a new e-mail to have the terms and conditions signed. I'm not sure if I really believe this in the sense such a thing can be retroactively applied to an order. I doubt my phone is just waiting in a warehouse somewhere; they've probably already allocated it to another person.

This is really unfortunate. I feel like calling back and asking for a supervisor.

tried calling att; they know nothing. literally, nothing. Apple has physical possession of the phone. Basically for this to be righted, someone needs to call whoever is handling the shipping and tell them 'just ship it'.

Problem is they won't right it. They don't need to. Someone else will be snapping up your (and mine) cancelled phones within seconds of our orders be **********.

I don't really buy this "send us your old and new order numbers and we'll expedite you a phone" line either. All online orders are tied up till July 14. They can say they'll try, but will they really?

I suspect they will try, but what difference it will make is hard to say. The good news for others is that due to the number of cancellations there are people whose phones were supposed to ship July 2nd who are getting shipping notifications. Perhaps any further cancellations will be used to fill people whose orders are being "expedited". At this point it is all speculation, but generally Apple's customer service is pretty good and I suspect they will do what they can within the limits of the extremely constrained supply.

Update!

Apparently if you did the order online with Apple you have accepted the terms and conditions from att, as this as part of the ordering process. This is _not_ the case if you placed your iPhone 4 order over the phone with Apple.

I was assured that I will still get my phone on the 24th. We will see.

I caved and called apple back, spoke to someone who took down my info, and is having her manager or whatever call me back "well before the 24th," she said. We'll see. But hopefully this can be righted and I can have a phone asap.

Just talked to someone at Apple as well and can confirm what icanhazapple was told, that you only receive the terms and conditions email if you placed the order over the phone. You accept the terms and conditions as part of the ordering process when you order online. I even had him confirm with other people to make sure. I also spoke to someone at at&t and besides the fact that I have 9 pending new accounts due to the clusterfrak ordering process on the 15th, everything from their end still looks good. I am extremely doubtful at this point of getting anything on Thursday but until the order is cancelled I guess the guessing game continues on...

Tick Tick Tick ....... Expecting an email anytime now ....... Tick Tick Tick Tick Tick .....

Have you ever felt so unassured when Apple tells you everything looks good on your order? I almost wish they would tell me something is wrong so I could move on and make alternate arrangements.

yeah - on call with apple again and the guy tells me everything is ok and I should expect phone on 24th -

I am like meh - how do you explain that its still sitting in 'Not Yet Shipped' status while everyone else and their grandma getting shipment tracking numbers in email

This is my first apple order and haven't they royally ****ed it up.

I ordered two iphone 4 16gb (upgrades from iphone 2gs):
Number: W70xxxxxx
Order Date: Jun 15, 2010 at 07:47 PM PDT
Ships: By July 2nd
Delivers: Jul 6 - Jul 8

Order Number: W70xxxxxx
Order Date: Jun 15, 2010 at 08:04 PM PDT
Ships: By July 2nd
Delivers: Jul 6 - Jul 8

As of today, both state Not Yet Shipped.
My Bank of America shows 2 x $210.94 charges and 3 x $1.00 charges until Monday, 1 x $1.00 charge is gone, but the rest are still pending. I dont like apple holding my account like that. If they are gonna hold it for that long, then I might as well get the iphone 4's buy June 24th.

Tick Tick ..... It's got to be coming soon ..... Tick Tick ......... No change since 6/15, I bet it's been sitting in Boston for a week just waiting to be loading on that FedEx truck on Thursday morning ...... Tick Tick Tick ......

Yours and mine. The scary part is, even if the order ever (and I'm not sure it will) changes to prepared for shipment, it still needs to go through one more at&t check and we all know there are tons of ways at&t's systems could potentially reject the order.

For all with 'Not Yet Shipped' - its clear that your orders has problems (including mine) and its mostly due to **** up on morning of 15th.

In last 12 hours I spoke to Apple and AT&T 2 times each - only after questioning sup multiple time he said my order has carrier reject (the customer service rep just gave me everything is ok mumbo-jumbo).

So he is going to call back after their team does internal review and see if they can get authorization again from AT&T. AT&T says that everything is ok with my stuff, so its apple holding on to it.

Bottom-line - be ready to be in line - don't be on false hope that your order will suddenly be alive after sitting in 'Not Yet Shipped' for more than a week

No getting in line for this old goat, just going to put the $3000 I was going to spend in the next 2 years back in my pocket and hold on to my $5 a month Virgin pay as you go phone, it was exciting while it lasted. Just can't see giving my hard earned $$$ to a bunch on idiots (thats of course if I don't get it on Thursday) Tick Tick Tick ....... :D

I'm going through a similar scenario—just waiting for a call back from a guy at apple...this is ridiculous.

So since when you are waiting? He told me I should expect call in around 6 hours - I don't have high hopes of getting call back - but I was able to get extension number of sup - hoping that I don't have to call him back.

Btw - how long is wait time for apple customer care, for me it has never been less than 30 mins (and today it topped off with 1 hour+)

I called around 10am, est. Wasn't given a nice window like you, just that i'd get a call back within 24 hours and "well before the 24th." I would hope to hear back, and I don't have anyone's extension...I had to call apple twice today, and amazingly I made it through to somebody in under 10 minutes both times.

I was told he would call back by 6P EST before he leaves for the day.

I emailed him my new order numbers, waited an hour, then sent an email to confirm he got the new numbers I sent. No response, and is not answering his direct line.

Poor service all around so far.
