I just bought NotifiedPro and it doesn't seem to work. :(

It is installed, it opens fine, I changed settings to not receive notifications on lockscreen (have lockinfo) but to get them everywhere else.

I sent myself a text message, and bite sms shows a bubble on the status bar, but notified doesn't show anything!

Even when I drag down to open the info shade it says "0 notifications"

Am I missing something?

fake edit: I just tested with email, and notifed does show teh email notification, but the SMS does not work, whether sent with messages or biteSMS.

Also I notice people are talking about no status icons, so I'm going to assume the that I shouldn't have any type of notification from Notified when I get an email right?

I had to manually activate Notified Pro hook to confirm it caught the notification.

Hi,

Notified pro will soon be updated to catch "custom" notifications. BiteSMS and iRealSMS are what it considers custom.

But a solution currently would be to go into BiteSMS settings and DISABLE the default app setting. You lose the quick reply and compose which is what BiteSMS is all about but receive SMS notifications on notified pro.

Thanks
AE

I disabled biteSMS, then assigned the volume tap heads up display to open biteSMS, so no functionality lost there.

However, how do I block the obnoxious pop ups from the messaging app?

Hi

What I noticed when disabling BiteSMS as default app is when you go into bitesms app then settings then go to lockscreen or unlockscreen, you cant set incoming SMS messages to show Qucik reply. Which is a great feature BiteSMS offers.

So to answer your question. Go to what I mentioned above and instead of Show Apple Alert (which is switched from Show Quick Reply, because of you Disable Default app feature) and change it to show Nothing.

AND/ OR go into Notified pro settings and go to Manage Alerts and go on Messages and disable Show in Lockscreen and SpringBoard.

Keep me updated on what you do. I dont want to disable BiteSMS as the default app because It wont allow me to quick reply anymore. What you did was set an activator for quick compose, but how will you quick reply without default app enabled? or the fact that you disabled Lockscreen/Springboard popups.?

Thanks
AE

Hey,

I went to biteSMS settings and tried to hit "show nothing" but it would not let me, it would revert back to "show apple"

I then went to NotifiedPro settings and set messages to not show on lockscreen or homescreen, after a respring that worked perfectly!

So thanks, I got rid of that pesky apple pop up.

I have volume button press heads up display (tap volume logo) set to activate biteSMS.

This is not quick compose, this actually opens the biteSMS app. I use backgrounder, so if I'm in a game and need to send a quick text, I press volume button, tap volume logo, and I'm instantly in biteSMS. BiteSMS will open to whatever page you last left it on.

As for quick reply, this is what I'm doing.

If I get a text from someone, I will just get a sound and a status bar "!", so then I activate NotifiedPro drawer and I can tap the message to reply there.

On the lockscreen I have lock info, so I preview the message there and I can tap the message to open biteSMS.

I would just use notifiedpro, thats what it's for, no?

If you are checking notifiedpro to read the message, just tap the message to reply. O SNAP, I just remembered you can set it to open a different app, I'm about to go change it so when I tap the message it opens biteSMS.

---The following is an unproven theory I have based on texting myself a couple times a minute ago---

I believe if you text someone from bitesms, when they reply it will give you the biteSMS notification even if you don't have it set as the default app.

If someone texts you out of the blue it will pop up in messages, but if you are already in a convo with them on biteSMS it will show the biteSMS status bar bubble, and you can quick reply from there.

Anyone that has tried the new statusbar icons, can they be switched off? I have Lockinfo for that and I would like to keep my current configuration.

Anyone know if this works with iReal or Bite in this new version. I am using Lockinfo now and probably won't even consider going back unless it does.

i thought the icons where going to be in color

can I ssh into the phone and change the icons?

where are they located

I am surprised that there is not a generic icon for push notifications. It seems kind of odd that only certain things generate a status bar icon. I am not asking for application specific icons, just a generic catch all...

did anyone update the new version, can you post screenshots?

i want to change the gray ones to color icons

is that possible via shh?

Yea that's weird there's only an icon for the default apple made apps phone.mail

But no icon for anything else like yahoo messenger , and other apps with push

LMAO! So the PUSH icon only pops up if its a local push from one of apples own programs? like phone, voicemail, calendar?

haha this is epic!

The status bar icons work on app badges, which are a consequence of notifications, and not the notifications themselves. So if you receive a push notification (say a news one) that doesn't leave a badge on the app there won't be a status bar icon.

i dont get any icon or "!" with apps that use push and have a badge like yahoo messenger or notifyme2

I only get icons for the stock apple ones phone, mail,

i think you have to install Notified statusbar notifications for the "!"

I have that, version 1.1

been using it ever since I got this app

do u have this app on your phone?

cause u saying that apps with badges that have push will get an icon or something in the statusbar

but i dont get that and it doesnt say that in the description of the new update

he should have Left The "!" on there for the other push apps
