Right?! I was super anxious about them announcing new MacBook Pros but I actually would've preferred if they had waited until they actually had stock to announce.

Totally. I spent a couple of hours deciding between 15" and 13", looking at photos and videos and watching the Keynote on Apple TV trying to get an impression of the sizes of the new machines. Those couple of hours were critical..... agh!

I had to transfer some money and sell a gold coin...didn't think of it at the time, but I should've ordered right away with plenty of time to cancel if I couldn't raise the funds.

I've been trying to keep up with the main MBP 2016 ordering thread but it's mostly become a flight tracking thread (understandable, I'd probably be the same way if mine had shipped!)... if anyone has been paying closer attention to me, what is the average time between "Preparing for Shipment" and actually delivered into the US for people who got in the first wave?

Around this time last week was when people started getting charged. So if we really are 1 week behind the first group we should start seeing charges tonight or tomorrow.

Same. I was at work after the announcement and I didn't want to order something without being absolutely sure that I wanted it. Now I wish that I had just ducked out of work and I'm placed my pre-order >.<

I feel like I was seeing people getting charged from Monday till Friday so literally it could happen at any time.

You could be right. Alright everyone you heard 'em, do your obligatory check before heading to bed.

Sorry guys. It turns out they had the MacBooks at the Apple Store so I picked one up and cancelled my order.

it's truly amazing how an hour or so difference in ordering on launch date has such a huge impact on delivery date...

Keep in mind that in an average quarter, Apple sells about 58,000 Macs a day. Given the overwhelming response to this introduction, I would guess that one hour probably put you about 2,400 MacBook Pros behind. :D

So after a little looking on the google.doc it appears most 17-24 orders got charges on the 7th through 10th. Then preparing for shipping 3 days after that. Then shipped another 3 days after that. Minus EU, sorry guys!!!
If we follow the same time sequence we should start getting charges any time now.
Charges 15-17th
P4S 18-19th
Shipped 21-22nd
Start receiving on 23-24th
Unfortunately Thanksgiving on the 24th is a wildcard thrown right in the middle of possible deliveries.

I'm guessing no charges this morning from anyone? I looked at my gift card balance and the full amount is still in there.

I like this thread, the other shipping thread is hard to follow.

I'm also in the 3-4 week window and haven't seen a charge or change in order status.

Wondering if we would be grouped together with 3-4 window?

Who's going to try for the Apple Store today? I have a meeting until 11a and might pass by one during lunch.

was thinking about it as there are a couple near me, but I really want 16GB and I figure there's virtually no chance of finding one like that in a store.
