I understand women wanting a phone like the XS. But I will never get men complaining they want tiny phones. When I hear them whining about how their phone is too big I feel like smacking them, and shaking them. Hand them a plus size phone. And say, you can act like a man ala Godfather! Lmao!

Ah so ALL men must have the exact same hands as you, that’s what your suggesting? You really should get out more and see that everyone is different, we are not carbon copies of you!
And you have very limited imagination too as you only think of your own personal use case, and are selfishly ignoring those of others causing them to want smaller iPhones.

I have small hands but very happy of the 6,5 screen. I can use it with one hand , No as easy than old 4 inch iPhone but not a lot more difficult than iPhone X.

I currently have last years X,
Anyone with the X who bought the Max have an opinion?
How about anyone who had the plus going to max?
It is tough to decide if the extra screen size is worth carrying around.

It is actually smaller than my Note8 which surprised me.

Former Plus and X user. I prefer the Max now. I would consider an SE sized device that was all screen. But until that day comes, I prefer the Max size versus other iPhone's available.

You guys are just in aw of the new big beautiful screen. It takes time for things like shifting the phone in your hand every time to reach things, and false touches with your thumb meat to annoy you. I’ve been using a large phone for 2 years now and I’m tired of it. Some of you have legit huge hands and will never tire. For the rest, let’s see what you say in a year.

I’ve loved my iPhone X this past year, but I’d ordered a regular XS last Friday afternoon, mostly as a way to hop on the IUP. Wandered into the Apple Store yesterday to see the new things, made a reservation to pick up a Watch, then when I came back for the reservation I played around with a XS Max model in the store. I was suprised at how nice it felt in my (relatively small) hands, and definitely liked the big screen. So when I got in line to pick up the Watch I asked if I could grab a XS Max too, and return the one I’d ordered, and boom, I walked out with a new Watch and a XS Max.

The funny thing is, I’m now getting used to TWO larger things: the XS Max, and a 44mm watch where my last two were 38mm. The watch is nice, but a day in still looks a little large to me, whereas the XS Max doesn’t LOOK huge. Since the XS I’d ordered is still on the way, I figure I’ll just keep whichever works better. But so far what I’ve noticed is: the Max makes most content feel comfortable, especially in apps that have updated for its size. Typing is definitely easier, at least in, again, apps where the size is adjusted and not just blown up (if you’re in an app that isn’t updated for the Max yet, you get a blown-up keyboard, which isn’t ideal). I can do more with it one-handed than I expected; it’s probably just a tad more awkward than the X in that respect, and with the X I always felt it was just a LITTLE bigger than I’d want for one-handed mode. So I’m mostly using a second hand about the same amount as I did with the X. I think.

The one thing that has me hesitating still — and here’s where more time will decide for me — is the weight. I can definitely feel fatigue in my hand and wrist after using it for a bit. The X was already a bit heavier than I’d want, and obviously the XS Max is that much more. It crossed. my mind that maybe this will encourage me to stare at my phone less, which would be healthy, and the fact that I’m coming up with weird rationalizations says how much I really am liking the big display.

Never had a plus phone and upgraded from X to XS. Having played with the Max I’ve now returned my XS and got a Max. It’s bigger obviously but really doesn’t feel it! It’s usable with with one hand unless you’re trying to get to the top left of the screen (and for those occasions there’s reachability) or your other hand!!

Never thought I’d get a plus type phone but loving the Max!

all of you that giving the max praise were previously + owners before the X so your opinion is bias

the X was the largest phone i had ever owned and it was perfect and had no trouble adjusting from my 7

every year im on the fence about getting a + model and since I did ok with the X i got the max this year...

i do LIKE the screen size but it's heavy. heavy is normally a great thing with devices but it's heavy AND awkward to use with one hand. it is taking a bit of time to get use to tbh but i don't know if ide ever go back to a smaller screen honestly.

I went Xs Max. I owned the 6s plus and 7 plus, but hated the size and could never get used to it. I got a chance to play with the Xs Max, which (at the time) felt better than every plus phone I had handled in the past and decided to switch to it.

Was initially happy with it for the first few hours, but it’s back to being as cumbersome as the old plus phones were to me.

X was my personal sweet spot with my hand size. Not sure why I decided to do this, but the Max is going back for the Xs.

Still find it weird the iPad mini is 7.9 and this is 6.5. Strange how they choose to measure it.

Phone is definitely not too big either. I can see them easily going to 7.5 the phones.

The aspect ratio is completely different though. Not the same thing.

I’m a flight attendant and obviously I travel a lot. To the point where I feel the difference of a huge phone vs the small phone.

Currently I have an iPhone 7plus. And I’ve always been able to use it easily because my hands are big. But at the same time. I wanted something I can get to quicker if that makes sense. I keep my phone in my blazer or in my pocket. And I’m constantly reaching for it to help passengers and even when i travel abroad. Just want to be more efficienr with my one handed abilities

I ordered the xs and I’m on the way back from London hoping that it will feel right for me.

I held my cousins max while I was there. To me it’s the same size as my plus but I feel it’s. Wide sort of. But I’m going to see how like adjusting to the smaller iPhone.

If you enjoy the size of the plus phone you might regret going down to 5.8" on the XS. I had the plus phones for 3 years then got the iPhone X. I have regretted it ever since. Cant wait to get my Max tomorrow!

I've always thought the opposite. Its not about 1 handed operation, but more that women can easily carry a bigger phone as they are used to carrying a handbag/etc all the time. Guys, unless you're wearing a suit or a student with a backpack, how are you storing/carrying your super sized phones? Even if it fits in your pocket, unless you're wearing baggy cargo pants, its not comfortable. My dad has a Plus, and he's resorted to carrying a small shoulder bag when he goes out - pockets just wasn't working out anymore.

Decisions. I guess because the screen is still “technically” the same size of a plus screen it’s like Why not. Even if you don’t open up a package do you still have to pay the restocking fee?

That’s exactly how I’ve been feeling. In fact. That’s the reason why I love my AirPods. Easy to travel with simple case no wires to get annoyed with. I mean this is literally why I’m probably going to stick with the xs

My 8+ goes in my back pocket most of the time. When I sit I often have to hold it or find a place for it. In shorts and naked (the iPhone) it can go in a side pocket. This is why I am considering the XS.. but I need to think about what would be different. My pinkie is voting for the XS though.

I just received the Max after the 7 plus and it feels no bigger in my hand but I love the screen and I’m so glad I didn’t get the smaller phone
