Wow

For anyone who managed to download it and is having problems with it I wrote a tutorial on how to do it. https://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=5950329

Erm I just wrote an entire tutorial at 4 in the morning!

VERY impressive! A tutorial with screenshots within 1 and 1/2 hours of an app being posted and pulled. I was too late to get it myself - hopefully it will be available sometime soon. The message I got was something like 'may be available elsewhere in the store at different price' or words to that effect. We can all hope reason for pull was wrongly input price (but I doubt this / more likely the too good to be true scenario).

Impressive work on the tutorial!!

At least I downloaded the flash light app that increases brightness before it was removed, but I'm pissed I was to late for this.

I can't believe I go for an hour without going on MacRumors and this is what happens!!

Yeah same here. This is so irritating. Im gunna have to be way more vigilant to catch all these illegal apps that sneak through before they are caught.

Got it working from a Windows XP Laptop. (I'm a mac guy, but my company provided laptop is Windows).

I can't get name resolution to work. I can only get it to work if I enter ip addresses in firefox. Anyone have any idea how DNS works with a SOCKS proxy?

(Edited to say XP instead of NT)

For what it's worth, here are two examples of speed tests that I did while tethered:

via speedtest.net: 674 kb/s down, 263 kb/s up
via speakeasy.net/speedtest: 916 kbps down, 300 kbps up

I had about 1 bar of 3G coverage, so not too shabby.

which app was that? I tried all the popular ones on there at one point and was pissed that they wouldn't up the phone to max brightness

It was one of the the free ones that was just called flashlight. The first version didn't increase brightness but an update made it max brightness, but it was removed shortly after.

I don't understand. Why post the app then remove it? Why not just completely remove it, instead of leaving it but making it unavailable? This whole thing is weird...

late for this great app damn

y does ATT have to be so greedy

first the damn in store activation and now this whats next no MMS

oh wait

just a quick update from the UK. about half an hour ago i could still view the app from itunes, but it just wouldn't let me download it.

now, i can search for the app, the app appears with the price and small pic, but when clicked on i get...

the wired article about the SDK implies that ATT didn't have a problem w/ tethering, so the probelm may be w/ apple not them. What I don't get is why apple would care one way or the other. Or actually, you'd think they'd want the revenue....
Maybe there was some sort of technical glitch and it's only gone down temporarily... (probly wishful thinking...)
