• Secondly those posters are mostly just clickbaiters crying for attention. If they had meaningful concerns they would return their purchases to Apple within the two week return window.

In a lot of places people don't have this option, and this is in countries where Apple doesn't have a store so you buy from resellers. If I got a defective device and tried to return it, you'd get a good laugh watching the reactions at the store. In this situation, people who are frustrated by a hardware issue can enjoy even more frustration while trying to take advantage of consumer protection laws.

So you have narrowed down your four known hardware issues now to just one?! Well that's progress, though some call it moving the goal posts. Going to edit your OP accordingly? Didn't think so.

And, there is a difference between a software issue and a hardware issue. Hint: If it can be addressed by software, and there is every reason to believe it is a software issue and will be corrected as Apple Support suggests.

So. To summarize. Maybe one, but not 4 known hardware issues and even that one may be software.

Is the sky still falling down?
Great, so you admit it’s not anecdotal and that it’s a known issue. Which was not fixed in either iOS 26.0.1 or 26.1 Beta. Hmmm.

I am definitely able to ask Apple Support if the other three issues are known to them, but I think I can extrapolate that if a bunch of people have the problem, Apple probably knows about it. And I can also wager that they would be fixing these issues with updates ASAP, if that were possible.

Sorry Kulan that wasn't really so much targeted towards you. I am in a crappy mood today. I could see Apple changing some things. The camera system seems to be an area of regression. Some people are still saying that they are getting blurry or soft photos, while others seem to not have this issue.

I can see small changes, but I think Apple is happy and content with this new design, and at least from a hardware side of things I cannot see them making many changes. Yes the Ceramic Shield and MagSafe debacle will probably be fixed on next go around.
I do not know you or your photog competence or that of folks "saying that they are getting blurry or soft photos." Certainly anyone "getting blurry or soft photos" should rush right back to Apple with the alleged faulty phone. First however they should test by sitting the camera still and take a RAW photo in decent light using the timer. If the result is blurry rush back to Apple; otherwise work on technique.

Note I briefly tested every iPhone camera in-store and saw no blurry pix.

You claim "The camera system seems to be an area of regression." Please advise what "camera system seems to be an area of regression" because I am a photog and I find the exact opposite of your claim with the 17 PM.

Although true, what does that have to do with anything? IMO a large number of the whiny clickbaiters are USA.

Well, maybe some of the whiny clickbaiters were outside of their return window when the issue appeared, or the drive to an Apple store is 4 hours long, or they are simply venting because you shouldn't be able to scratch a thousand dollar phone in a couple of seconds with a coin.
How does dismissing these people help you? Any time someone complains about faulty hardware, your position as a consumer improves and you should be hoping it gains traction because that leads to a better product in the future.

No, the point is that we are at the beginning of the new iPhone sales and anyone "having real issues crop up" should be rushing to return their purchases, not whining to the internet.

That's a fine opinion to have, but how about stopping short of calling people "whiners"?

Can we just be better than this please?
More polite, more gracious, more understanding?

Reacting this way to people you don't know and don't know the situation of is incredibly off putting and creates a really unpleasant forum environment.

I don't know you, but I'd like to think you don't mean to do that.
🙏✌️

Unpleasant? So does constantly patrolling and acting like the moral police to people that disagree with you. sometimes a cigar is a cigar. :)

You know what would make these forums more useful? More facts and less opinions. Sure, rumors are fine, but technical details on released products can be more factual. Feel free to show us how.

Yeah, but I did return both devices. And then I came here after getting two in a row with a mix of these issues. Are you ignoring that?

I ordered a third one in a higher storage configuration because I’d ideally like a Pro device to record some 4K60 ProRes RAW videos, but I’m not keeping it if it has multiple faults, which a bunch of people in this thread say they don’t have.

performance is my biggest issue. My 14PM on ios 17 is way snappier that my 17PM ios 26. Hooefully its just sw issue that will be resolved asap.

There are issues for every new iPhone release. Maybe it's widespread, maybe it's not. Only Apple has the data.

All these bickering in this thread is silly. This is the same OP that was upset people didn't like the Air. I don't think this is a serious thread.
Oh so you took that as me being upset, when I really just didn’t seem to understand the negativity. But yeah, bring my other threads into a completely separate discussion because you choose not to meaningfully contribute to this one. Maybe that’s why you are upset.

Who said I was upset? I am happy with what I have and I have no problem with people liking what they like. I’m merely calling out rage bait when I see it.

So discussing issues about a phone is rage bait? Yeah, seems like you are upset.

I’m terminally online, low effort bait like this won’t make me upset, you gotta try harder.

Someone pointed this out earlier:

> Feel free to add any other issues you’ve experienced. This is a ridiculous level of hardware issues for a Pro phone. If you seem to think none of these issues exist, refer to the links below: <snip>

This is copied directly from your own OP. Sure looks to me like someone wants to stir up something because there are too many negative comments about Air. And yes this was the reason I linked your other post.

But you’re right, since I’m participating, I should try to contribute. This was what I posted earlier:

> There are issues for every new iPhone release. Maybe it's widespread, maybe it's not. Only Apple has the data.

I don’t have the issues you listed, but I don’t doubt there are people who do. No product launch is perfect but it’s pointless to discuss how widespread or common they are without access to Apple’s data.

But that’s not what you wanted though was it? You didn’t actually want discussion, you wanted people to rile up people to pile on the same way others piled on the Air. Have some self-awareness, it’s helpful.

Sure, whatever you say pal. Maybe you need to get off the internet.

This really isn’t an 17 series issue or 26. My 14 pro has been doing this before os26. For last couple years. Not sure since new. Noticed within last couple years.

Ive had to return 2 17PMs due to a grainy screen and dead pixels. The one i have now is still grainy compared to my 15PM.

You’ve forgotten to mention the screen lottery, I suspect a function of the “lowest bidder” competition.
What’s at stake this time? I remember with my X and 11 Pro that the screens (had both replaced twice) on each unit was different, aspecially displaying white in landscape or grey in low light. My 15 Pro is almost perfect however. Are the colors different with the 17‘s?

I have a Pro now (albeit in a more protective case this time). We ceremoniously destroyed and disposed of the box yesterday so that I can't 14 day return it again. I love both the Air and Pro for different reasons, but I decided the Pro better suited my needs by a reasonable enough margin to stick with it. The love and connection to the Air is visceral for me, though. Might be back next year depending on improvements.

I have been reading some of the other replies and wanted to say sorry if I came across dismissive of your concerns. There are enough people discussing them, that they are real and valid (even if I've had good luck).
Your reply made me lol…….id not thought of destroying the box to end the possibility of an ongoing return loop!

I also moved from the Air to the Pro in my case for camera related reasons, I absolutely loved the design, weight, feel and concept of the Air and really wanted to keep it, I hope we get a fold with at least 2 cameras next year.

My Pro was decent first time too so no need to burn the box!
