bugger....

for what it's worth, they're doing macbreak weekly right now alex lindsay said that he heard from a second hand source that it is the 14th. maybe there isn't supposed to be an event.
I was listening to This Week In Tech yesterday and Kevin Mitnick mentioned being excited about the new laptops more than once. I'm sure they will be here soon. I;m still betting on the 14th.:apple:

Honestly, I'd say most buyers of Apple products don't follow the hype as much as members of this forum, who represent a small number of mac users.
I agree. All the geeks are the ones on the forums. Most consumers are off worrying about more important things like elections and such. :D

ummm...wow. So, the months upon months of utter speculation culminated in this.

Fantastic work, 'sources'!

well we almost got to 1000 posts! lol!

angered now i really want to know! still stick by that if there was a release there would be alot more leaks by now! even some pictures!

I really need a new macbook (or a first macbook) but the specs are quite dated now, and I don't want to buy one unless my vaio laptop does just die for good. Which is looking increasingly more and more likely. If not October 14th, then when might it be? I mean, if it can't be Octoboer 21st, because of the earnings call etc, will we have to wait until January? I can't see Apple releasing in November, it just seems a bit late to take full advantage of holiday sales.

This reminds me of the letdown when we waited after macworld 2008 for a real update to their notebook lines and a little speedbump and multitouch was the only thing we got.

Then rumors circulated and created hype for the WWDC for new notebooks, where nothing was announced.

Then it was people said july after the iphone hype is over, then people said august, then people said september, then some guy called gruber or something said 14th and everybody accepted it as a general fact.

Its amazing that we might actually have to wait for macworld 2009 to see updates.. haha.

I dont get why people are getting worked up over that meeting over earnings, arent they to assess what theyve done in the PREVIOUS quarter? As far as Ive heard, the quarter for this meeting is over.

Now where the F$%# is my macbook?:(

If they wait until macworld, they are sure screwing themselves over for Christmas. Who wants to buy an outdated product?

I really hope that the 14th is correct. This is getting really old!!!!

Tell me about it. The only--ONLY--thing keeping me from buying something else is the fact hat I have already invested in a bunch of Mac software for my anticipated new MacBook. :(

PS: They need to put a crying smiley on here. We need it these days!
