yeah it is really irritating. Though I guess I understand how art costs have ballooned making it the less expensive route to take.Which is most things these days. Studios are even dropping their own engines for UE.

PC gaming isn’t really in the best place right now. My favorite game of recent times performs so bad on my 4090 13900k setup - Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. It’s a stuttering mess. I get a smoother experience on the PS5 Pro. You think my hardware would blow away aPS5 Pro. And it isn’t just this one game. A lot of recent games perform horrible.
Upscaling and frame generation has ruined everything now.
Hopefully HP Omen are made available in u.k. inc’ 50 Series gpu.I fear gaming on the mac just will not be great. I'm surprised they get some big name ports like Resident Evil and Death Stranding. They run well, but IMO if you want the best gaming, PC is the way to go (or steam OS).
I came SUPER close to ordering an HP omen system last night because of a coupon, but it expired. But now that I look at it, a 320 watt gpu and an intel CPU that runs at 120-250w, man that would have been one hot system. I'm just tired of it the heat and power. Plus 5090s are starting to melt 3rd party connectors again. I don't feel like PC gaming is in a great place, and thus, nVidia hardware I want for work is not either
I have doubts it will move the needle much. If anything folks will hope nvidia lowers pricing so they can still buy nvidia. If performance is competitive with 4080 Super and priced competitively with sufficient availability then it could be a hit.
I’m not a fan of social hype/drama. However, the continued (actual) investigations are enlightening.[...] the 12 pin which is still a mess
I knew from the get go, when the 4000 series was released that this new connecter was trouble. More power delivery over smaller gauge wire and smaller pins; yeah this can't go wrong.I’m not a fan of social hype/drama. However, the continued (actual) investigations are enlightening.
More and more evidence is confirming the connector is designated and being implemented with far too small (safety) margins. In other words, even a small carelessness/oversight by the manufacturer and/or user equates to a highly probable failure.
As far as I can tell only the 5060 (series and slower) will come with 8-pin connectors. All the higher tier cards come with 12V2x6.I knew from the get go, when the 4000 series was released that this new connecter was trouble. If I end of getting a 5070Ti, I will make damn sure it does not have this nonsense connector for power.
I think that may only be true for the founder edition cards; I hope.As far as I can tell only the 5060 (series and slower) will come with 8-pin connectors. All the higher tier cards come with 12V2x6.
Looks like 5070ti MSRP is going to be hopium.I think that may only be true for the founder edition cards; I hope.
Figures.Looks like 5070ti MSRP is going to be hopium.

MicroCenter confirms GeForce RTX 5070 Ti prices: one MSRP model and $930 average price - VideoCardz.com
MicroCenter confirms AIB focus on overpriced OC variants Good luck with MSRP models. As we have repeatedly mentioned, the upcoming RTX 5070 Ti launch set for next week will not include an NVIDIA Founders Edition. This means that the only way to buy this card at the official MSRP of $749 is by...videocardz.com

I’ve decided to forget about 50 series.
P.S. if only 4090s would be available at a fair price
I decided to throw my name in the bucket for a 5090 TUF OC. Afterward, I thought, “Why?” Has my attitude changed? Am I really willing to pay nearly $3k for a GPU? The answer still seemed to be: no. So, I felt mostly glad when I wasn’t selected.![]()

"TSMC N4" is considered slightly better than "TSMC 4N" as "N4" represents a more refined version of the 4nm process, offering improved performance and power efficiency compared to the standard "4N" designation; essentially, "N4" is an enhanced iteration of the 4nm technology, making it the preferred choice between the two.
Seriously?! The RTX 5090 TUF OC MSRP is (now) $2,500, listed $2,529 at MC. With local taxes, the final cost slides to ~$2,735. By the way, the 5080 TUF OC is listed at more than half, $1,485 ($1,350 MSRP), putting it at a total expense of ~$1,605. Even with the “Because I can” PC enthusiast side wanting to try different configs in pursuit of optimal performance and relevant efficiency, the value of these GPUs looks so horrifying to me. I can’t even seem to twist the figures enough to justify the purchase.Am I really willing to pay nearly $3k for a GPU?
I see that the 5080 has ROP issues as well. Which is wild cause that is a full die.I happened to notice some 5080s and a single 5090, ASUS TUF models, briefly available at my nearest Micro Center — most of us know “nearest” is used loosely. With that tiny bit of intrigued excitement, my thought soon reverted back to:

I guess, I’m wondering, if/when supply/availability isn’t a problem, how much are these really going to sell?
P.S. For me, the pandemic-like QC compromises allowing for missing ROPs is far more concerning and appalling than the possible cable melting.
P.P.S. As with Apple, I don’t care why they chose (to raise) the prices. I’m simply calculating the value based on the cost I would be paying.
