They called and pestered the apple people .... its not too uncommon in customer service relations in places that have a high profit margin if it can make the customer 'feel' they were treated nice etc...

I'm not sure that "pester" is the right word. I legitimately called to find out if I could pay for expedited shipping. I never asked for anything, it was offered.

Rumor has it that Apple retail stores are getting large shipments tonight of iphones. Our phones could be among these shipments. Makes sense.

All that means is that iPhone 6s and 6 Plusses will be available to walk in and buy while a lot of us sit around and continue waiting for our shipments to arrive.

Nope, definitely won't be doing this again.

My girlfriend's 6 is showing arrived in zengzou since yesterday with expected delivery on Thursday. Yay! Better than the first week of October initially quoted. Now if only my 6+ would get here before the last week of October!

For what it's worth, I was thinking about my experience with ordering a 5s last year.

I could have sworn a similar situation happened with the tracking being stuck. So I checked my receipts and emails from last year and sure enough it did. I even went back and read a similar post as this that I participated in. People experienced the same issue where their phone was stuck and it still ended up being delivered on time.

This is an example it can happen: https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/18000601/

It might be a long shot but I wouldn't necessarily be surprised if suddenly tracking updates and its out for delivery in a few hours. *shrug*

We ordered the exact same device at essentially the same exact time, and are sitting looking at the exact same tracking.

I have to agree with you. Apple is knocking out 200,000+ phones per day. If UPS just lets crates of phones sit around, the pile up would become ENORMOUS very quickly. (Of course, they're not all going to USA, but still..)

I'm confident the tracking is just not updated. I'd bet most our phones are in USA already and I'm very confident UPS will hit their delivery dates.

Now I just wish they'd move up my Thursday so I could join the Mon/Tues club. Still aggravated about that. :(

Flight

Looks like a flight from Zhengzhou is about to land in Anchorage on a Air China Cargo plane. Got my fingers crossed that our shipment is on there. I'm also in the 7:10 group with shipment scheduled for late Tuesday evening. :apple:

would be better off waiting 5 days and ship 1 million phones in one shot on that interval. can get quit expensive 200k per flight

How did people on here get free Apple cases for their iPhone 6 or 6+'s?

I had questions about adding AppleCare as it wasn't available from the app when I ordered and mentioned (well vented nicely about) the 1-2 hour lag at 3am EST when all I wanted to do was order and go back to bed. They apologized and offered a case.

Right. My girlfriends father is a supervisor for a center near me. He said take the tracking with a grain of salt because it's not always accurate. He said just most of its estimated and when it goes out for delivery it could trigger all the shipping activity to post.

I can't imagine all these phones being stuck for this long due to something like customs.

UPS/Fedex will use other airlines for their shipments?

Air china cargo #1011

The good news is that Apple is using cargo space on several airlines going out of that airport. CGO to PANC

I feel like a stalker.

hmm I called about the same thing (to see if I could at least order it without going in to store) - no offer, nada. But I have to say, the person sounded really beat.

Seems as though it's luck of the draw. Dunno if it made a difference but I did wait in queue for about an hour before getting someone and I had mentioned that we have 3 other lines coming up for renewal and my husband is considering a switch. We chatted in good spirits. They were really nice.
