Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this thread. It's great to not be in the boat alone :). Hopefully we can partake in the iPhone 6 + joy soon! On a side note I spoke to my friend who is over an AT&T store here and she said they are getting zero iPhone 6 +'s. Glad I preordered.

Ack. I'm going to be on vacation in Utah from Sep 17 - Sep 27. My AT&T shipping address (I ordered from Apple) is in Maryland. If I knew the delivery date fell within my vacation days I'd try to get the address updated to the Utah address. What a quandary.

You can have FEDEX or UPS redirect once shipped as an option as well.

I've seen conflicting things about whether "every" order was going to have expedited shipping and my question would be if everyone is expedited then why when you do the math does the delivery date given make sense only with standard shipping. The people who are being told their shipping will be expedited are getting new estimated deliveries that make sense with an expedited shipping method

Hey, I live in Utah! You can just have it shipped to my place :D

Crazy. Now I'm wondering if I should just ebay my 6+. I can wait until Nov-Dec if that means I'll be able to get the phone for free.

I have been at Ups for the past 8 years. I can confirm that every single iPhone does indeed have the expedited label on it. It doesn't matter if it's the launch phones or other wave of shipments. They usually are expedited from China and then Ups processes them as Next Day Air Savers. Which mean by the end of day delivery for Residental and 3:00P.M. for Business. Everyone can calm down because Ups and Apple have a huge contract to push these phones out ASAP. I have seen the paperwork on my managers desk directly from corporate about the high priority of Apple shipments.

I would feel so much better if my order status would just change from processing, if my phone showed up on the apple support profile, or if I could dig some UPS info up with my phone number. Just anything to make that Oct 1-6 seem like an overestimation.

See told you all.... there is no standard shipping on the iPhones
Your dates are just estimates thats all. So if your delivery date is Oct 1-6. That means in reality it is several days earlier

----------

My guess is those with the date Oct 1-6 will get them between Sept 23-26

This has happened before, and I hope it holds true this year.

Do you think we're gonna get our phones delivered sooner than October 1st?

Exactly what I'm guessing, too.

Yes, most likely.

exactly, there is no point to call and try to get the customer reps to expedite.

All they are doing is changing the dates that output on the website when people are calling to complain, it isn't doing anything to speed up the delivery.

Ok, so I called the apple online store back again today. First went thru sales, then on to customer service. I wanted to inquire the status of my order due to the fluctuation of dates. I was told that I was in the "second wave" of orders to be sent out.

I was really polite and just kept the conversation going eventually said that a few of my friends were in the same boat as me and 4 of them were offered a free case. She said she wasnt aware of anything like that and then she put me on hold for like 6 or 7 minutes. She finally said this is a one time thing I can do, i'll ship you a case free of charge. She asked me whether i wanted leather or silicone, I chose the leather in black for the 6 Plus.

The key is just to be polite.

Below is my updated order for proof..

Finally managed to get my order in on the 12th at 3:00 AM, a 128 GB space Grey 6 plus for AT&T with AppleCare+

Ship date of OCT 1- OCT 6

Seeing a pending charge for the AppleCare+, but Apple's order status shows it as still processing. Is this normal?

I really hope you're right AND I really hope we get updated ship dates before Thursday night. If we don't, I'm doing the 3AM camping thing and I don't want to. :D Leaving town on the 26th and don't want to wait until ~Oct. 1 for the phone.

I had a hold for AppleCare+ all weekend, but it dropped off today.

I love you.

haha, no seriously, I gave my UPS driver a Coke when he dropped off my iPhone 5. Was so excited I had to share a bit of the joy. :D

You guys really need to stop calling Apple - I've personally worked for Apple as a Senior Advisor for AppleCare (2010-2013) and the staffing in these call centers are under qualified, not knowledgeable 18-23 kids who can care less about up training and product knowledge. Heck, some are actually at-home advisors where they don't even have to leave their house or campus!

Your wasting your time

Also no iPhones ever get shipped standard mail, especially for AC+ repairs. 2 day shipping is what is used.

I'm in the Oct 1-6 group too, hate that during order it said 9/19 and got email for Oct 1-6. I've been waiting years for a 5.5in iPhone. Two more weeks won't kill me. Poor me, and my little ole iPhone 5s

Damn I kinda want to give my delivery driver a Coke as well now when he drops it off especially if the orders move up.

Gonna buy a couple and keep em in the fridge just for that purpose. It gets hot out here in Arizona...

Yeah he honestly seemed surprised and appreciated it. :D
