I really hope you're right AND I really hope we get updated ship dates before Thursday night. If we don't, I'm doing the 3AM camping thing and I don't want to.
Just called them up and asked them why I couldn't upgrade the standard shipping when I placed my order and she updated for free for me and offered me me a free Leather Case

What's the deal with the free leather case? What do I need to do / tell my rep to get one?
Just called to try to get faster shipping they said because of volume of the 6+ it wasn't going to help and that if he changed it he would only be making it take longer. I did get a free choice of a silicone case for my 6+ after telling him I stood up late trying to order and that I knew a few others who got free cases for having later shipping dates even though we were all up trying to order a minute past 3.

I called apple and asked why I could expedite my shipping they my shipping from 10/1 - 10/6 to 9/29 - 10/2 for free.
I too called in and asked if I can get expedited shipping...but I was shot down. I also asked about the leather case that a few other people I know of (meaning you guys here on Macrumors) being offered to. She then placed me on hold for about a minute and said "yes we can offer you a leather or silicon case." Thanks for the tip guys.
Just an FYI...I asked if that same offer was being made for the regular 6 (since I did preordered from them and being delivered on the 19th) and she said no, it's only offered for the 6 plus that has been delayed. Hope this helps

Didn't know whether to go leather or silicone I read some peoples leather wore out fast so I went with silicone. Still hasn't shown up n my order status yet though
Got it, just gave them a call about all my hassles I had with pre-ordering (like having to stay up an extra hour or so due to system failures).
They were unable to bump my iPhone 6+ shipping, but they did throw in a free leather case!
I asked my rep the same thing and she told me it doesn't make a difference, any orders that are modified before you are charged or preparing for shipment retain there place in there queue. And after I got my free case it should up like in 2 - 3 min on my order status page.
Were you guys calling or chatting online with Apple? I chatted last night and upgraded shipping was a no-go. Never mentioned anything about a case. I was on hold on the phone for 30 minutes when I connected via chat, and hung up.
They bumped my shipping for me.

needs to be customer service for apple store phone call chat doesnt work I Tried they dont have the power move up shipping or give free cases they are only sale reps
I just called Apple and they wouldn't offer me a free case god dammit!!! But they did expedited my order though. Now the order is Delivers: Sep 29 - Oct 2 by 2-3 Business Days.
I think that all these bumped delivery dates are just done for a placebo effect. The orders are going to get there on a specified date regardless.
Lol, same here. Just got off the phone. Expedited shipping, Sept 29 - Oct 3, but didn't offer the case. I even asked and he said no. I felt like such a mooch haha.

yes, as many have said ALL iPhone orders ship expedited. They are probably just changing the dates to get people to stop calling them, it won't make a difference on when your phone gets delivered.
Just called and asked for expedited shipping, i was actually willing to pay for it but the guy "Bodi" highly recommended that i do not do it. He said all phone tech support people were sent an email saying not to expedite as it may cause more delays.

I just called and got bumped to next day air, but no go for a case. After he didn't seem to be offering it, I said screw it and asked directly and was told they weren't offering any cases after he checked with his team. Oh well, I don't really like their cases anyways since the bottom isn't covered. Lol.
