Well you can sure tell it's Monday. This thread got serious and no more humor

Departing on flight KE233, to Anchorage, which arrives 1:25 PM Anchorage time, departing an hour later from Anchorage, to arrive in Chicago at 11:10 PM Chicago time.

I thought all international shipments via UPS went to Louisville, KY first. Why do you believe that your package is going straight from Anchorage to Chicago?

Wow I was NOT expecting you guys to go to Osaka, that's for sure. Should get you to Anchorage about the same time as the rest of us though.

well considering you really haven't had anything else regarding these shipmates right so far.... why should this be any different?

I am too. Let me know what they say.

***** UPS and Apple at this point. And don't bother calling UPS to ask why your phone is sitting in Shanghai for 54 hours without update because they'll tell you to just keep tracking the package...
Arrival at Shanghai 12:45 am 9/21
No sign of moving on!!

NYC? Thoroughly confused. If we're both in Japan right now, how can you possibly have a delivery date of Tuesday and me - in Seattle, - Wednesday!?

Makes no sense. :D

i have no idea. why do not you ask god? ahah. jk tho. i have literally no idea why i will get before you. perhaps, nyc is closer to kentucy fried chicken?

Damn, that's just straight uncalled for. flyingwasabi actually has been pretty right on with a lot of the stuff he's said, and the fact that he's offering any kind of insight at all when there is no call for him to do so is something that should be appreciated.

EDIT: And frankly, even if he had been 100% wrong about everything that he predicted and tried to share with us, it wouldn't warrant that kind of rudeness. Jesus.

UPS 105 leaves Osaka in 45 min for Anchorage. Its an 8 hour flight, hopefully we see a departure scan soon.

Mine decided to take a pit stop in korea. That scheduled delivery date of the 25th seems legitimate.

apple products make people act irrational. i know for a fact i've never hit the refresh screen so many times in any given time period...

# of times the refresh screen has been hit in the last week > # of times i hit refresh my ENTIRE life

:D

the funny thing is, apple's estimate was right all along. it's ups' site that kept messing with our heads.

I understand that; I don't particularly consider myself "lucky" because I view all this as a by-product of Apple pre-selling a device that was woefully understocked, but that's Apple's issue, not UPS. My reply was specifically addressing the idea that we could be getting our phones even earlier than the dates that UPS is providing; I just don't feel like anything that has been done so far warrants that kind of optimism.

Not a ding on UPS; just an observation.

Understood - I think thought that a lot of people here don't understand supply-chain solutions, etc. So it's always good when someone can at least speak to it.

The reason why I pre-ordered was because I didn't want the hassle of trying to fight other people in lines, rushing to stores every day, and all that - I'd rather wait 2-3 weeks for the phone to come directly to my house, as it's less of an inconvenience.

This is not directed at you ZombiePete, but I'm also surprised that people here are complaining about stock levels - we go through this after EVERY iPhone launch - the demands WAY outpace stock levels. It's clear that Apple begins production on their devices shortly before launch, and there's NEVER enough to go around - this is NEVER going to change.

If you want to be an early adopter, then you need to go through the pains of either waiting in line, or fighting people online, and waiting for delivery.

It's one thing to rage at Apple or UPS; I myself have gotten frustrated with them and the situation and had to go back and check myself in this very thread. Lashing out at someone who has done nothing but try to provide pertinent information and been perfectly nice to everyone, whether his information bore out or not in the end, crosses the line of civility in my opinion.

Eventually we'll all have our phones and quickly forget about the stressful process this year because we'll be too busy enjoying!

At least I will!

Haha...that very could have been addressed to me, and rightly so. You're 100% right though; this is what you have to suffer through if you want to get something on (or as close as possible to) Day 1. It's either this or wait in line. Thanks for the perspective; I think you're spot on.
