Free cases?!?!

Still don't understand how people got free cases. Just called Apple and B****** and they "looked into it" for 20 mins. Came back on and said sorry but it's your fault for ordering such a popular phone. "Anything else I can do for you?" Yeah, give me a case. "No, It's not our fault. It's a very popular device."

Sorry I could never call in and complain about something I already know the answer for in order to gain free stuff. The shipment is not late until its Oct 7th.

Eh I thought 9/22 was over optimistic of UPS... I knew when I got my txt message saying EXCEPTION from UPS it would be a delay. Date changed to tomorrow. Oh well - it's one more day. Still better than 10/1-6 by far.

Also - even if apple came up when they were supposed to doesn't mean for sure you would've had a + any earlier since there was limited quantity. Just like logging into ticketmaster @ 9:59 am for a 10am sale & refreshing every second doesn't guarantee you'll get tix. That's life.

I think the people who got free stuff (including myself) were being appeased after having gone through the rough pre-ordering process moreso than just because it's taking a while to get our phones. When I added my phones to my cart the shipping date was 9/19; when I actually finished ordering it had gotten kicked back to 1-6 October.

The other thing is that I don't think most of us actually asked for anything; we called, they couldn't help us, we maybe groused a little bit (but were still cordial), and they offered. I didn't ask for anything but to be able to pay for expedited shipping; she offered to send me a free case.

No idea why I ordered a case....Apple Store has loads of them. I should just cancel that order if it hasn't shipped yet.

delivery date is Thursday.

Seems like they split up the iPhones.. sad part about all of this is when I got up at 3 to preorder I messed up and ordered my wifes phone first and her iPhone 6 plus got here on release day while I have to wait and I was the one who had to wake up early while she was still lying in bed go figure.

This is exactly what mine is still sitting at right now. No change in a couple days now. I figured it would be in the US by now, but with a Thursday delivery date is sure looks like it isn't.

I don't understand how I have Thursday delivery, yet people have Monday and Tuesday delivery and had the exact same UPS scanning information. Why is mine still sitting in China while others moved on? Makes no sense to me.

Wow, woke up and we just got boned. Mine is being delivered on Wed now...guess ill have to call Apple.

Not sure why you're "boned" because Original estimated delivery is October 1-6 and Apple's shipping email said it's 25th. Getting it 2 days early is lucky. Sorry you couldn't get it today... i guess

***** UPS and Apple at this point. And don't bother calling UPS to ask why your phone is sitting in Shanghai for 54 hours without update because they'll tell you to just keep tracking the package...
Arrival at Shanghai 12:45 am 9/21
No sign of moving on!!

Why the anger?

Did Apple not tell you that you are scheduled for Delivery 1 Oct - 6 October?

It's September 22'nd. That gives Apple and UPS 9 days to fulfill their obligation to you (at the earliest date they said they would).

Just because your items have shipped, doesn't mean that you're going to get them within 2 or 3 days, although we'd all like that wouldn't we?

UPS likely doesn't have the capacity to move ALL of these phones themselves - it wouldn't surprise me if these phones are travelling on regular airlines as belly freight.

UPS has to move millions of packages a day on any given day - add in 4 million extra packages from the pre-orders just alone would be crippling to their own infrastructure, as they likely don't have the capacity - a lot of this stuff is moving on regular airlines, as I'm sure everyone saw the China Airlines pictures a week or so ago..

I think Apple and UPS giving the visibility on these shipments so early was a mistake - because this is what you get - you get unintentional anger because people don't understand the logistics.

Looks like my pallet joined up with the security held 7:10 crew and flew off to Korea.. (Would have preferred Osaka vacation for various reasons... but its moving.. but still 25th, so the question is will it remain with the 7:10ers when they depart for the US... while tomorrow is a possibility assuming they pop the next flight out... being on 'expedited' I dont hold much hope... but now Wednesday looks promising, except as I've stated, Wednesday is the 1 bad day this week for me.)

Incheon folks should have their plane departed by now so expect a tracking update in about half an hour?

Osaka folks plane is departing in 15 minutes so I'll be refreshing in about 45 mins-1 hr for my tracking update.

Both planes should arrive in Anchorage 12:48pm AK time or 4:48pm Eastern Time.

So I'm going to try the 'Hold for Pickup' option since the Customer Service center is only 7 miles away and is open 8:30am - 7. (Note Customer Service Center is different than a UPS Retail store).

I did call UPS to make sure I understood how it worked. They were very nice despite what I'm sure are many calls.

The phone may show as 'out for delivery' and it still MIGHT come to my house. She said I needed to wait for the Completed status before heading down there with federal ID. Hopefully I won't regret this.

I think the anger is due to the fact that a majority of people that were stuck in Shanghai have been shipped and his/her's has NOT. It's the feeling of being "left behind" what causes the anger and grief I believe

Still got the Shanghai Blues!

Anyone in the west coast? I'm in southern California. Maybe the Osaka shipment is west coast only?

Never mind. I see some are from east coast.

What's your delivery date? I'm part of the Osaka group but got Wednesday while everyone else seems to be seeing Tuesday...

Mine is open from 1 to 7 for some reason. Looks like I snag it on my break seeing as I can't get home until late at night.

Oh boohoo. If it arrives after Oct 6th, then he/she has something to complain about.

Weird that some phones arriving in Incheon at the same time as mine (8:04 pm) are showing 23rd delivery dates, but mine still shows 25th.

That link to the flight info out of Incheon is now telling me that flight info is invalid.

I spoke to both UPS and Apple about this.
UPS doesn't seem to want to explain it and says those customs fault that the times are different. They told me just keep watching the trucking. it's not late till it's late.

Apple seems to be completely unaware there are two levels of shipping service i.e. worldwide expedite and worldwide service. They say that they paid for expedited shipping for everyone and that should be should be the same. Obviously they have no clue what UPSes doing with our packages.
