And you didn't call to have your shipping changed or anything? You were in the 7-10 days/1-6 October delivery range originally, correct?
I'd argue that your post was uncalled for as well, so I guess we're even.

Cool, thanks for the info. Nice to see any kind of movement on our orders, though shifting the delivery date ahead a day or two seems arbitrary.

This article from Cult of Mac says that At&T is pulling phones from stores to bolster their shipping stock so some customers are getting bumped up. Looks like you got lucky! Congrats.
We Apple folks on the other hand are getting no love and still processing oct 1-6...

Apple should have done this as well, since their website crashed at pre-order time. But I guess they'd rather have long lines for the tv cameras at launch day.
I honestly feel like Apple really screwed me over with this launch.
I don't. I remember that Apple had a similar issue with the 5 when I preordered. Even after getting up my delivery time was quoted as a week or two after.
Getting in line was never a serious consideration. I ordered the phone I wanted, and it will show up over the next two weeks.
There are plenty of other ways life has screwed me without worrying about a phone.
Definitely! I'm so used to not getting my phone on Launch Day it's just routine now. Apple didn't do this on purpose to anyone specific, it just happened! We can't expect preorders to go perfectly with anything this popular (Apple or not). I am alive and well, so I can happily wait!
I don't mind waiting either but I wish Apple would get a move on and finish processing my order. It's been a week and it's still processing.
Did you call and ask for expedited shipping, or did you receive this email unsolicited?
Did you change your plan with the purchase of the 6? If not, then it would make sense that you didn't get a text.
Those thinking about camping for the Plus might be out of luck. Last night there was an (alleged) Apple employee doing an AMA on this board. His answered and wording, etc, made me believe he was legit. He said the Plus will be like the 5s Gold. Very very few.
Of course, I woke up this morning to read more of the post and it was gone, grrr. Don't know if he deleted it or what.

So with no changes in shipping it looks as though I will either have to "deal with it" and watch my wife enjoy her new 6+ for a week...Or..
Try to find one in store either local
Store or ATT
Both of which I am sure will have hardly any available...I am not sure I even want to deal with all of that madness to begin with...I refuse to camp out anywhere so the chances are slim I would get one anyway....
Guess I will just play with iOS8 and be patient....I guess if I count my wife's I can still say I have always got a phone on launch day....

When I placed my order on 9/12 for the 6+ I also got the apple care. On my credit card the charge for apple care only was "pending" and since fell off (cant recall when). I just now got an email from my credit card company:
As requested, we are notifying you that on SEP 18, 2014 at APL*APPLE ONLINE STORE a pending authorization or purchase in the amount of $530.19 was placed or charged on your ********** account.
So, there's something going on now - YAY! I think...

It wouldn't surprise me at all if we started seeing our phones transition to Preparing for Shipping if only to keep us out of the lines tonight/tomorrow and from canceling our preorders.
You could also try mall kiosk, independent mobile shops - especially outside the memories metro area. While the supplies are extremely low compared to most phone launches, these places are often overlooked. It all depends on how desperate you are and how far you're willing to go.
