So I decided to call Apple today to complain about the piss poor handling of this and ask why my phones are just sitting around in Louisville doing nothing. All she would say is your lucky to get it as quick as you are. I told her that it isn't fair that they are shipping phones to stores for stock instead of to customers who got up in the middle of the night to preorder. She told me that stores aren't getting stock which I told her was not true. Then she offered me a coupon for my frustrations. I told her a coupon wasn't going to do anything for me and that I just wanted to let them know that they pissed off a 30 year customer.
I really wanted to lay into her, but I kept my cool and was perfectly polite about it. My feeling right now is that I will never preorder with them again, but I know I will be doing this all over again in a few months with the Watch.

Its just a rain storm so it not a huge weather delay. Even in the Winter when its snowing like crazy at WorldPort the latest I've seen the plane arrive was around 3 to 4 hours. All of the packages were then shuttled out to the drivers for delivery

Which, of course would have been fine if they paid for expedited status. But the fact though that better shipping was assigned randomly is what is so annoying.

I had the expedited shipping but mine still didn't clear till mid morning and missed the truck to my city. I do have it now. Good luck.No, this happened to everyone(?) with a 9/25 delivery date who arrived at Louisville early yesterday morning; none of our packages got import scans ostensibly to ensure that those with earlier delivery dates were being taken care of first.
No heartburn over it on my end; I'm just looking forward to seeing my package get moving again today.![]()

Yeah it's extremely frustrating, it's the worst preorder experience I've ever had with Apple. I would gladly have made the 2hr drive to the closest Apple store to try to get one on the 19th, but my order was locked the day before.
9o'clock hour passes still no import scans...who gave up the 9am-3pm time frame for import scans anyway??? lol
Calm down, seriously. It's a darn phone, many of us are waiting on them but they are simply phones. Get worked up with the major stuff in life if you must, but this is a consumer electronics device. It isn't a pacemaker or anything like that .. it will get here, sometimes it just takes time.

I choose to call Apple to express my frustration with the preorder process. I wasn't expecting them to do anything. At this point there is nothing that can be done other than to wait until it is delivered. If we don't tell Apple that we are unhappy with how they are doing things, then things will never change.
No, but it IS a $1000, easy steal-able piece of equipment that we would like to know what's happening with it.
